We ate lunch twice here and just loved it! The view is spectacular and is great entertainment for boat watching! The burgers and drinks are great but the best part was our server, Megan! After the second time we felt like old friends! A must place to go!

Megan was tickled pink over your kind words. Come back soon and try our hearty Reuben sandwiches. They pair nicely with a margarita, or two!

Getting here is half the fun! Arrival by boat only - ferry or private boat. Cabin rentals are available. Need exercise? Explore the island with the well marked trails. Need ice? Ask at the bar for a big bag full. Seating in or out - no A/C. Great sandwiches, full meals, snacks, beer, full bar. Fun place to just sit...

Lunch was great, especially the blackened chicken with beans and rice. Our server, Marci was outstanding. The harbor master was very helpful and had a great attitude. Had fun with the land tortoise Michaelangelo.

First off, words cannot express how amazing the entire weekend was for my family. The experience at Cabbage Key, from docking to departing was memorable, relaxing, and warm! The staff, especially Debbie, both Michelle's, Chef Chris and Chef Steve, AND the bartenders (I apologize for not remembering their names—you can thank too many Cabbage Creepers for that!) raise the bar...

Food was great, had black beans and rice with mahi. Server Marci was terrific. We enjoyed our walk after on the nature trail. It is a beautiful setting for a restaurant. Others had shrimp and seafood salad and everyone enjoyed their food.

This place is amazing! The cottages are peaceful and quiet and completely cozy. Perfect for a romantic getaway or even great for a family vacation. It is where you can unplug and just be in the moment. The staff was unbelievable. So gracious and fun and very accommodating. Chef Steve and Chef Chris, Marlene, Michelle and Debi were simply the...

We had the pleasure of stopping there for lunch during a fishing trip. What a way to end a beautiful scenic trip. The waitress Marcie was fast, friendly and efficient. I had the blackened "Mahi Mahi" with black beans and rice it was very fresh and delicious. Well worth the trip.

Our boating group stopped here for lunch and it was great. Free dockage, beautiful surroundings, excellent food and service. Highly-recommended and we will likely return to stay in a cottage. Everything we had heard it to be. Marcie took great care of us as our server.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cabbage Key is a 100 acre island located five miles off of Pine Island, FL in the Pine Island Sound. The Inn, built in the 1940's by the family of Mary Roberts Rinehart, now houses our famous Restaurant & Dollar Bill Bar and six guest rooms. The rooms in the Inn are all different with old Florida charm - they do not have TVs, phones, or refrigerators. We have seven cottages on the island, ranging from a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage to 3 bedroom/3 bath waterfront units. All cottages have refrigerators, televisions (no cable) and coffee makers, some units have full kitchens. Our restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you want to relax on a beach...we do not have one here. But, Cayo Costa is a close kayak or boat ride away. This is a great retreat to discover "Old Florida", relax with a book, fish from our docks & watch the boats go by. ... more   less
