Only if you are desperate to visit Cedar Key should you stay here. My friend made a last minute booking on 4th of July weekend so this motel was the only place available with a view of the water and walking distance to the main street. We were received by a nice but sloshed receptionist who started celebrating her birthday...

I never actually stayed here. We were supposed to, my husband & I were SO VERY looking forward to it. We made reservations back in May for a trip in the beginning of August. I received a call last week advising us that they were cancelling our reservations. They decided to do construction & are cancelling everyone's reservations. They didn't...

If you are used to 4 Star accommodations and service.....this is NOT the place for you! Location is GREAT...right on the water! Rooms are small and dated but clean. AC (window) unit blows cold in the bedroom but not in the living/kitchen areas. Wi-Fi signal was weak. Convenient to most all areas of town. I know this may sound negative...

My sister, who was visiting from the cold Northeast, and myself went to Cedar Key. This motel is right on the Gulf of Mexico. In the back, they have 2 hammocks (Heavenly!), some wooden rockers, a covered pavilion and a fire pit. The motel is a funky 1950's little motel. Only 10-12 rooms in the whole place. Each room was...

Spent this past weekend at the Gulf Side Motel. The location is great, on the water and close enough to walk most everywhere in town. Holly, the manager, was very helpful with where to eat, got us a larger coffee maker and real coffee cups. Our room #9, the "honeymoon" suite was very disappointing. The website listed a coffee pot,...

I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of March, which coincided with the Cedar Key Arts festival. What I loved about this motel (though is true of most places on the island) is you can walk anywhere on the island, so once you park, you don't have to move until you are ready to leave! Parking was a...

We arrived on Cedar Key without reservations and gave the Gulf Side a call. They had a room available. Very clean! Cozy! Great sunset view! The price and location were right! Very helpful and friendly inn keepers. Bring your own blow dryer.

As always, I researched the heck out of everything before we decided to visit Cedar Key. I liked this place because of the location right on the water, and it certainly is. There's ample space just outside your door to sit, watch the gulf and the birds, have a picnic, sit by the fire-pit, and most importantly, watch the sunset....

We stayed during the Valentine’s day weekend and were lucky to get the last room in the hotel. We were in room 4 and the hotel, like many buildings in this historic key is fairly old. The door in the bathroom caught on the tile and had trouble completely opening, heat was provided by a plug-in style oil heater, and...
