Just spent a lovely afternoon and evening at the Lantern with my wife, we stayed in the Kinder Scout room with four poster, lovely views of the surrounding countryside, the rooms are smaller than some places but it is a 400 year old former farm house , what would you expect ?. it had a nice large bathroom, the bed...

Arrived at B&B expecting it to be quaint and cosy but sadly not to be - the bar staff lady was nice and welcoming and she showed us to our room - we were in for a shock! For the price we paid - almost £100 - the room was like a tiny box, the heating wasn't on so it...

We came and stayed one night in the Kinder Scout room. We also had dinner and a pint or three in the evening. We felt so welcomed, the landlady was particularly lovely and stayed up with us when we lost track of time playing a card game next to a roaring fire with a whisky. Fantastic breakfast. Great location with...

Lovely village pub, log fires, great welcome and brilliant food.I have been visiting this pub with friends for many years and always enjoy great hospitality. The pub also offers accommodation on a B&O basis. There are also many walks that you can take either from or to this location.

My mum has always wanted to go in here after hearing the writer Tony Warren used to write his scripts here and there would be memorabilia. So a few months back we called in ......they'd just decorated! so not much memorabilia, but we stayed for a drink and food, the food was lovely and the young lass behind the bar...

The room and landing etc really need redecorating, paid £76 for double room, but it was small and noisy on the main road, my partner had to go out for a walk as he was feeling very claustrophobic! Also bathroom very dated, shower not brilliant, need I go on... Having said all this, food was good in the pub hence...

Stayed one night, not impressed, pokey front room facing road, very small bathroom, tv not working. Hallway to room was grubby with an old bed stacked against the wall. Not good value for £80. Won't be going back. Loved hayfield village though, the area is beautiful and walked into village through beautiful countryside.

Heading back from North Yorkshire Moore via the Peak District, we were in need of a good lunch, this little pub just appeared on the right hand side of the road, On entering we were greeted by a very friendly land lord and lady, a super choice for lunch cooked fresh and served in good time, We would return if...
