Closed, out of business, dead! Sad day:-( We heard about this cute little town with the most perfectly round lake, one of only two in the world. So we thought we'd stay at this historic hotel after a day at the cool springs. oh well, let's just go to the chain hotel down the street.

Even on a rainy day, it was still a beautiful little stop. The library and Victorian homes were lovely. Stop by if you are interested in seeing what some parts of Florida looked like many years ago. There aren't many places to eat, but it's a nice walk or drive around the lake.

This was a fine boutique hotel/ B&B but has closed. The hotel and its adjoining restaurant are vacant and striped of all furnishings. We had hoped it would reopen under new ownership but since it is striped to the bare walls that does not look likely.

Rooms very well done, some Retro but all clean, quaint and well done. Staff great, food/bar wonderful. Free wifi. Hotel pretty much in the heart of things. Enjoy your stay in a very old hotel that does Not smell like mildew.

Received a very unprofessional letter today canceling a confirmed reservation at this hotel. Rather sad that the sale of this hotel and transition is going extremely poorly. They obviously are in serious trouble and poorly planned this transition. Questions should be asked to Florida state hotel regulators. Are they a viable hotel? Is canceling confirmed reservations a sound strategy? Is...

We understand your disappointment and share your concerns. We just don't what other choices would have been better. We don't mean to be cynical, but our choices were to cancel your reservation or let you knock on the door when you arrive. We sincerely regret that this cancellation has disrupted your travel plans.. We have always bent over backwards to...

For less than the cost of a decent room elsewhere, my wife and I spent two nights in this historic hotel where we received personalized service and had a tasty breakfast served each morning. We enjoyed a bottle of wine one night in the cozy lobby area and chatted with another couple who were doing the same. We also enjoyed...

We stopped here for the night on our way to Seaside. This hotel is a gem! The owners welcome you with true Southern Hospitality. The room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent! I'm only sad that we have just found this hotel. Hopefully, the new owners will take some hospitality lessons from Tom & Pam before they retire.

Pam & I will miss all of our friends when we retire. We are doing all we can to help the new owners with the transition. I am sure they will love the Hotel and all of the guests with the same authentic enthusiasm as we do. The Hotel has been a part of so many special occasions for its...

such a sweet bed and breakfast. I stay here two nights a week. The breakfast is awesome, the only problem is breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 but they are each a culinary experience. The hotel has history and a certain relaxed atmosphere to it that can't be duplicated. It's being auctioned off at the end of August and I just...

Thank you for sharing your experiences with others. We have the best guests ever! Pam and I have had a great time over the past 13 years and feel sure that the new owners will carry on the tradition. My wife surprised me when I walked in the door on Friday afternoon. She said, "Here's our bags, let's get going." The trip led us to the Hotel Defuniak in Defuniak Springs, FL. The first impression as I walked thru the front doors was, "I've just stepped back in time." The music playing was one by Frank Sinatra. The antique...
