We stayed in Maravilla 4203 and were surprised that we had a fabulous view of the gulf, even though we weren't on the beach side. This resort is very secure and you can't enter without entrance gate codes. This unit was quite a value considering the location. It was super clean when we arrived. Definitely will return!

Soap for both bathrooms
Shampoo and Conditioner
Diswahsing and laundry detergent
Sponge to wash dishes
Bleach to get the white countertops clean / or cleaner
(also to clean the outside table and chairs)
Extra paper towels and toilet paper
Paper plates, plastic forks & knives.
Hair dryer
Coffe, tea and filters
Foil paper and spray cooking oil
Zip lock baggies - all sizes and twisty ties for chip bags.
Beach towels

Take a flashlight if you want to walk at night on the beach.
Take a light jacket - not a bad idea.
Quiet hours end at 8am - expect to be awoken by barking dogs.

Snokeling - don't pay for the tours - they just take you to the jetties under the bridge that you can easily drive to.
Take a boat ride. We liked Boogies. Saw a plenty of Dolphins and fed seaguls from the boat.
Get your beach chairs before 9am - I think the guy is already setting up at 8:30.
I believe all Maravilla condos get free chair rentals and they go fast on weekends.
The pool by the beach is not heated - the other one is.

People there like to excersise in the morning take your running shoes.
Surprised so many healthy people (upscale group), yet not very many healthy restaurants around.
No loud spring breakers, families and people in their semi-golden years.

Not the Ritz Carlton.
If you are expecting granite countertops with down comforters you'll be disappointed.

We stayed here with some friends in June of this year. The room was relatively clean. There is no maid service. Trash, Towels, etc. If you have any issues you have to call the person that booked the reservation as there is no one on site and the properties are individually owned I guess. The private beach was close, but we couldn't really use it. We had 2 babies and 1 toddler with us so naturally we had a lot of gear. The beach chair drill instructor disallowed us from putting a 8x8 canopy up, even though we explained we needed to keep the babies out of the sun. So we were forced to pack up and drive about a half mile down to a public access beach. It kind of defeated the purpose of renting/paying for a beachfront condo. Save your money and find somewhere else to stay. Not very family friendly.

My wife booked this condo for three weeks in May 2014 (unit 3106). Cost was just over $4000 with everything included. Unit is managed by Destin FL Rentals. Although the unit was not the one that my wife had had described to her on the phone - it was a ground floor and nicely located to the beach crossing area. The initial impression upon arriving was that the place was relatively clean and well kept up. The problem began the first night when we tried to use the beds - they were terribly broken down (although they had very nice bedspreads as the manager later pointed out). And when I say broken down, I mean that the hole on my wife's side of the bed basically swallowed her entire body. My side of the bed sloped so many different directions, that I was almost crippled by the time that I got up in the morning. The couch in the front room was similarly broken down. When we notified the unit manager of the problems, she first denied that that was possible as the beds were new (obviously not true), and when she was told about the couch she denied that any visitors had ever mentioned this problem to her (and then 5 minutes later, she told my wife that they had put some boards under the cushions in the couch to address the sloping problem). A lot of the appliances, including the toilets were mismatched and obviously purchased second hand for the "rental". In the end, we had a good time despite the accomodations, but we definitely will not be coming back to this condo or using Destin FL Rentals.

We rented from a private owner through VRBO. This review is of the community itself and not of the condo we stayed in. They allow dogs, now while I may be a dog lover, I do not appreciate being wakened before 7 am to the echo of barking dogs. This happened about 4 days in a row. The grounds are nice, they have a designated area to walk your pet but the people staying there seem to not read the rules about that. They have elevators and carts to carry your luggage on. You have a designated beach entrance across the street. They have a work out room, a couple different nice pools and a hot tub. The building that faces the beach, we noticed some joists in place to hold up the patios of the upper floors. If you stay next the elevators, you can hear the elevator moving. The bedrooms face the entrances so for a light sleeper, stay away from the elevator. Overall, we love Miramar Beach but will find a place that does not allow dogs next time.

DO NOT RENT THIS CONDO!! Or any other place from Southern Vacations.
When we arrived there was still empty water bottles laying around and garbage in one of the bedroom garbage cans. My daughter went to wash her hands and the handle fell off into her hand. We immediately called Southern to report it and get it fixed. They sent someone out while we were at dinner and they claimed they couldn't find the faucet that was broken. So we called back. No one came for days till we called again...angry. The guy showed up 20 mins later. Rigged it so it would work enough, and said he'd be back with a new faucet tomorrow. Well, he never came back. He left a giant tool on the sink to rust all over.
Everything was old, not updated. The dishwasher was rigged with a button. The coffee maker had coffee grounds in it when we arrived. The patio was gross and dirty!! There was dust and cobwebs in several places in the condo.
They advertised a fully stocked kitchen, but when we went to open a can...no can opener.
Just Don't Do It!!!

We have been coming to this place for 6 years now. We love that we can walk or bike around safely with the huge path around the Scenic Hwy 98. We rent a condo from VRBO usually. This year we were saddened to note the property needs some TLC. The Workout room has an Elliptical Trainer that is Duct Taped in several places. The weights are all lying on the floor, and the workout mats are dirty. The unit we stayed in this year hasn't been updated in years. We stayed in a until on the second floor (never stayed on this floor before) and the noise level from the other units coming into their rooms was disruptive. The stairs have this spongy coasting on them which seemed inefficient and scary. They need a better solution like the roll on Rhino-Liner Paint.

I have stayed at Maravilla multiple times. The most recent being March 14-21, 2015. Our condo was 2303 and our friends were in 1303. Our stay was perfect! Both of the condos were very beautifully decorated with new furniture, new paint, and new tile throughout. The one we were in had beautiful granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a mirrored wall in the living area that reflected the gorgeous view of the gulf!
I saw NO stray amimals around or "cats in doorways" as another review indicated. The grounds were well maintained. There was some construction happening. Our owner had let us know ahead of our visit and It was minimal causing no inconvenience . Both the condos came with beach chairs and umbrellas. Matt the beach attendant was amazing and put our chairs together in a group daily. He came by and checked on us every day.
We saw several families with small children. We were there during spring break and although I noticed a lot of college kids down the beach, I expeienced no problems with profanity or misconduct at all on the beach near Maravilla.
We had a great vacation!! We will definitely return!

We stayed in 2113 last week (8/2014).
Pros: very comfortable furniture
Well furnished kitchen
Great location to pool and beach access
Site Staff and reservation Staff are very friendly

Cons:
Tile is worn out on the floor
No directions on how to access Netflix
Outside grounds are not well maintained.

Overall, I would stay here again if visiting on a budget. For the price, the location is great.

We stayed at 2205. It's right across the beach. Nice and quiet family area. Walking distance to a few restaurants. Publix is a 5 min drive. Check in is after 4 but check out is 10am. Cleaning crew arrived promptly at 10am. We have to throw the trash but there is NO TRASH CHUTE. we have to load the dishwasher but there is NO DETERGENT. no trash bags either. It's clean. Bed was comfy. The coffee maker was not usable. I've never seen a coffee maker like that before. The fridge was not fully stocked as advertised.
