In reading reviews on this site and others, it sounded like the Village Inn would be fine for a one night stay on our road trip. However, the reality was far different. While I appreciate the fact that they are attempting to update their facilities by painting, as the saying goes, it's like "putting "lipstick on a pig." It appeared very clean at first sight, parking lot was well maintained and the flowers and all greenery were very nice. Everything was fine until we got to our room. While it first appeared to be just old and outdated, it was soon obvious that it was also dirty. I spilled some water on the floor and used some tissues to wipe it up. The tissues were black with dirt from the floor. The bathtub was old and in serious need of replacement. The toilet was disgusting around the base and the entire bathroom needs to be ripped out and replaced. With that said, it was inexpensive and in a decent location to walk to dinner. As an aside, we walked to McGuires Irish Restaurant and had a fantastic meal.

The best location! We had a boat and not able to drive with it to know the area. We only had to cross the street to walk a nice boulevard with restaurants and bar. Best thing we got was the staff, Taylor had a solution for every situation we got, she is amazing and Alisha (and her daughter) were always friendly with the best attitude! Something they can work is the rooms cleaning (floor and restrooms mostly), but everything we needed was there

This hotel has one thing going for it - it is directly across the street from the Harborwalk. Other than that - the pool looks nice (we did not use it) and apparently they provide hot and cold breakfast. Our room overlooked the pool and was on the backside of a street-facing building so it was relatively quiet - except for the dogs in the room two doors down that barked like crazy every time we walked by (was there no designated pet section?). And walking to the room was always a mess due to the fact that the room air conditioners are located underneath the outside windows and every one of them leaks onto the sidewalk, so you are always rolling your luggage through the dirty liquid. Inside the room, the bathtub and shower curtain were dirty, and the bed linens and pillows were very thin. This place could definitely use some sprucing up.

First off run! Unless you like to breath in mold and then be blamed for it and kicked off the property when you call out this places practices DO NOT STAY HERE!
This place is right by everything you want it to be at. Beach, restraunts, bars, everything and anything.

This place however is nasty as hell. When we got into the room it had a Mold smell. The floors defineatly were not swept or mopped. Tops of beds, mirrors, windows, and and anything with an edge had not been wiped down for dust for quite some time. Upon further investigation we found a few dead bugs which is awesome. However a big spot of black mold under the bed was discovered.

The spot was about a foot and a half in diameter so obviously it has been growing for some time on the floor. We had contacted the front desk to see if we could clean it ourselves. Since I work in the cleaning industry I had no problem getting dirty.

The self-proclaimed manager did not even bother to look at the mold. In fact she had almost acted like we grew the mold in a single hour. She had instructed us to leave the property immediately and told us to follow-up with our booking agency for a refund.

The manager was a blonde hair with a pony tail, blue eyed woman in her thirties. She had no empathy to the situation and would had us removed from the property as soon as possible rather than apologize for their bad cleaning and work ethic that we caught.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life!

You get what you pay for is so true about this place. We stayed as a family of 5 here for a week. The beds are so uncomfortable and dirty. The cleaning lady was the nicest staff member she check on us every day to see if we needed anything. The shower had no water pressure. The toilet was not working properly. The kids swam only one day in pool the other days they kept informing us they were cleaning it. If you don’t mind uncomfortable and dirty then this is the place for you. There was one positive side I can say, you could leave your car in parking lot and walk to everything. The attraction we’re close enough to walk from hotel you saved on parking fees that way.

The location is terrific, the staff is friendly, the pool area is nicely done with shade and some comfortable seating. The price was good for the area. The to go breakfast consists of: oatmeal packets, apples, sweet rolls, muffins, juices. The usual continental breakfast. Most of the outside looks nice. The reception area did not give a good first impression of the interior, dark and not well kept. If you can stand the dirty room, then book it. Our room was dingy with poor lighting and dark paint on walls, a hand towel had (what appeared to be makeup) on it. Maybe it just didn't come out when washed?? Saw a spot of blood that did look like it had been washed but was still visible. It was replaced by staff. There appeared to be a hole from a cigarette in the top cover. Curtain wand to open and close drapes was broken. The top layer of the bathroom door was partly off. A bit of mold in the shower area. Yes, this is an older motel and it needs a good cleaning and items replaced. Read the fine print about a $100 deposit.

Cockroaches on the counter when we walked into our room. That was it for us
The girl at the desk did not seemed concerned or surprised. She refused a refund but said she would switch rooms. We said if you can see then they are everywhere. Too bad good location we left we will contest with credit card company. So unless you are ok with living with cockroaches DO NOT STAY here

This motel is an older motel with basic amenities. The beds were comfortable and our room was clean. The bathroom is very small and could use updating. The room is very large with a refrigerator and microwave. The room was clean, even though you could tell it was a really old motel. Overall it’s adequate for a nights stay as the location can’t be beat. It’s right across from the Harbor. Even during COVID, they still offered a continental quick breakfast of pastries, juice, and coffee. I haven’t even seen this in hotels. Very appreciated indeed.

Stayed here due to location near the Harbor Walk. That is the only good thing I can say about this Motel is that you can walk to the Harbor Walk. Check in was interesting. The lady at the desk did not seem to have anything to smile about. Outside of Motel was filthy. Trash on ground, spilled sticky liquids in parking lot and on sidewalks. Rust on everything metal. Just really looked terrible. Room was not better. Furniture was beat up and damaged. The pictures of the rooms on their website do not match what you actually get there. Half the outlets and lights in the room did not work. Curtains would not shut all the way. Windows were so filthy you didn't need curtains anyway. TV was not plugged in, Got it working then it would randomly stop working. I was afraid to walk on the filthy, torn carpet without shoes. Walls and ceilings had multiple hole patches that were very noticeable. Paint job was very poor. Vent fan for shower/toilet did not work. Very noisy outside the room. I think the normal patrons of this place are pretty rambunctious. Overall I could not recommend this place even with the great location. Very disappointing.

Good hotel, great staff. Room was big, clean and stocked. Breakfast was really good and plenty. We showed up early and the staff was very welcoming and let us hang out in the lobby until our room was ready. Only downfall was traffic, getting out of the hotel to go left on the highway was kind of a hassle.

Harrison Beach State Park is maybe 3 miles east of the motel, and it is excellent. $6 parking fee to enter the park. There are pavilions with restrooms.

Yes, but it's not people friendly!!! The room they gave us at Village Inn was a dump, mold, bugs etc. That being the case, they don't mind pets.
