The rooms at this location are consistently clean and comfortable. Bed linens are always fresh and pillows are soft and the mattresses are comfortable for our heavier bodies. We have recommended this location to extended family and they have been so pleased with her stay that they have returned again this year. Best Western seems to have consistency in the quality of their rooms and the cleanliness of the rooms. We try not to stay at any other hotel. This location specifically is close to a number of attractions and dining.

The hotel is in a great location - I could walk to Publix or any of the other stores in the Paradise Key Shopping Center. Crossing the 4-way to the Destin Commons was iffy though.
The employees were all very nice and courteous. I expected it to be a little crazy over there with all the other people staying the night after the Fourth of July event, but as far as I could tell it was quiet.
The double queen room I got was great. I had no issues with the room. Bedding was nice and fluffy. I think I watched the 2003 Hulk movie on the TV.
The dining area was a little packed during breakfast, but the food was great and there was a good number of options available.
The pool has posted hours, but it seems like they don't really enforce them. I don't know if I just missed it, but I wish they had placed a pool rake/skimmer near the pool. I went in the morning and there were multiple dead/dying bugs in the water.
The parking lot had only a couple of spots shaded by trees, so keep that in mind if you go during the summer and can't manage the heat. Also, I don't know if they have employees that manage the parking lot, but people kind of trashed it when I stayed.

Centrally located in the Destin Commons, the hotel is off the very busy Emerald Coast Parkway and so easy to get into and out of. Destin Commons is a large outdoor center with stores, restaurants and a Panera and Starbucks as well. Breakfast is very good.
I normally stay at the Inn on Destin Harbor (a Choice Ascend hotel) but it is on the far western end of the peninsula and so a long drive to anywhere (especially the outlet mall) other than the Harbor Walk, which I think is overpriced. I decided to try this hotel because of its central location since I have Diamond Status with both BW and Choice. I was so impressed I will now be staying at this BW in future visits to Destin, which is at least twice a year.

No working shower was not reimbursed or compensated for my inability to shower. When I explain to them at the front desk, they told me that I would still have to pay for it regardless. The price was outrageous to stay there for the short amount of time that I was there. I was looking to stay longer, but I left early because of the inconvenience.

This hotel is a mess, no lighting in the parking lot, very little parking, and construction materials in the lobby. They need to shut this hotel down and complete the upgrade work then reopen. Most of the staff was great but we did not get the room we requested and were told the whole 3rd floor was being shut down the day we arrived. This room was not worth the $161.00 we were charged for one because of the construction and two it's not even on the beach, I think we should be given a refund because the pictures online misrepresented what the room was.

The BW website does not disclose the construction at this location. Very deceptive and frankly unprofessional for a well known chain to dupe customers.
More importantly, even without the construction, this hotel is awful. My expectation of a BW hotel is like, average. This location is well below average.
Hotel prices in Destin are outrageous but I urge you to avoid this particular hotel at any price. We payed $279 a night. Shocker. It's not on a beach, there's no restaurant on premises - it's a Best Western for gosh sakes.
When we arrived, there were 4 kids in the lobby without supervision doing whatever they wanted. Mayhem. There's no rules here. The Mom, who we encountered later in the hallway in front of our room playing beats on her phone at level 10, was not interested in reigning in the crew. That family left like 12 dirty towels in front of our door that stayed there for 12 hours. The Mom hung out in the hallway and you are required to say "excuse me" just to get around her and enter the room. This happened twice.
The hotel sits near a helicopter pad that transports tourists all day long, every day to do touristy things. The choppers fly directly over this hotel at all times. The first time this happened, (5 minutes after arrival), the copter was so low I thought there was a tragic crash event in progress. I ducked. I became desensitized hours later when I realized the awful, noisy reality: This will not go away.
The pool is disgusting. It's filled with building materials that fall from the building expansion/construction at the hotel. Nobody cleans it or is concerned about it. The staff is not interested in helping. "We can't help you, you booked through Orbitz, you should call them." We did call Orbitz, and miraculously they let us leave this prison and returned 2 of our 3 booked nights. Props to Orbitz.
My advice: Book another hotel. Pay whatever you need to pay to NOT experience this awful hotel. (Oh, by the way, the breakfast was horrible).

This was the third year we have stayed at this hotel when vacationing in Destin. The past two years was awesome! Unfortunately, this year we were a little disappointed. Not sure what has changed but they had not kept up the hotel as we've seen in the past.
The lobby was nice looking as always, but it went down from there.
Due to the weather, we used the pool and hot tub several times, various times of the day, we never saw anyone maintaining the area. The pool and hot tub had leaves, grass and pine needles floating. The water was clear though, not cloudy or discolored. There was grass growing in alot of the bricks and up the fencing. Wasps nest were along the roof line of the hotel. They were far away from the pool but noticable.
It is a nice pool area, just needs some TLC.
The rooms were ok but they also needed some TLC. Beds are comfy but need some updated comforters.
You could not use the chair in our room because one of the legs had been broken off, so we used it to hold our luggage.
The shower curtain was horribly stained and was barely hanging on. I did report this to the front desk and the maintenance man immediately brought a new one up, replaced it and said he would report it to housekeeping.
Due to the Coronavirus, there was no daily housekeeping, which we totally understood. You did see housekeeping throughout the hotel, so they would assist with more towels, trash liners, toilet paper, etc.
The front desk was always most helpful as well.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would highly reccomend a remodel/update soon!

We booked a Queen suite through the Best Western website that had
a separate living room area. When we arrived they gave us the wrong room. When we inquired they said that the pictures on the website did not match and they didn’t know how to fix it but if we paid $20 they could put us in the room we reserved. We agree just to get checked in.
The room was awful. 3 lights did not work, one lamp had bulbs being held into the sockets by a tied plastic Walmart bag, the windows were so dirty we could not see out of them, the lock on the bathroom door was broken and the beds were very uncomfortable. We reported the light issues to the front desk and were told that the maintenance man was 89 years old. That he sometimes did unacceptable repairs like the plastic bag that was used to anchor the light bulbs. We told them that while we would turn it on whoever the next guest was might and it was a hazard. The room was just old, uncomfortable and in need of many repairs. Would stay elsewhere next time.

The room I stayed in was in terrible condition. The top of the toilet had been broken and was glued back together. The shower curtain must have come out of the wall and was reattached in another place and the original hole was hardly patched. Furniture was scratched and showing much wear and tear. Lamp shades ripped. This room should be condemned!!!! Additionally, I was quoted one price and charged a higher price at check out. When I spoke with the manager he refused to honor the original rate. I was there for a family wedding over a holiday weekend so I was unable to make any changes and move to another hotel. This stay was an absolute disaster!!!!
