This place will do in a pinch. Sort of. The water is disgusting - sulfur and iron like you've never seen before. You can't cook with it, have to bathe in it, so be prepared. There is a junkyard on site, behind a falling down wooden fence, with stuff strewn everywhere. Yes, the peacocks are beautiful, but the random dogs... More

This place is a hoot! We did not choose this place, it chose us when it was the only thing available at the last minute close to the Florida Seafood Festival in Apalachicola. The owner, Etta, was so kind, calling me back within hours of wait-listing me to confirm my room and her husband upped the kindness by going above... More

Wasn't sure what to expect and was not disappointed. Not a hotel chain with every room the same layout. These people have worked hard to create something unique. They really succeeded. There are a combination of buildings with rooms and RV parking. Most everyone can have a view of the bay and the peacocks. Very nice people who live the... More

Stayed for three nights with my wife and two little dogs. Very charming place. Great view over Apalachicola bay from the room. Spacious and tastefully designed (especially liked wallpaper). Peacocks everywhere. I even saw a little happy looking fox on the grounds. Great location, as St George Island beaches are only minutes away, so is historic Apalachicola with its great... More

Neat little lodge. While the rooms are not the cleanest, they are certainly clean enough. We loved being able to see the water and the peacocks through the sliding glass doors. Loved that there was a kitchenette so we could prepare our own meals. This lodge forces you to slow down, and that is exactly what we needed. For the... More

If your looking for a ritzy hotel, this is not the place. This is a getaway where you can just be you, have fun fishing, enjoy sunsets, spend evenings talking with local or other travelers. They have spots for crab nets, fish cleaning station and bay side fishing locations. The owners are super sweet & accommodating. They gave us a... More

We were talking to a local person at dinner and they recommended this hotel. We pulled up and first thought was umm don't think this place was for us, but we went into the office and talked to the lady running the place. She was charming. She gave us a key and said go look at the room and decide.... More

I needed to be in the Eastpoint area on a busy spring weekend, but the Sportsman's Lodge only had one night available ( I needed two). However, the owner actually called me when she had a cancellation, so I was able to stay there. It's an eclectic place with several buildings of varying ages. Its location on the bay is... More

My grandfather and I went to sportsmans lodge and found a national treasure. The bay and the wildlife are unmatched anywhere else. The fishing is also great, I went out in the morning and caught fish. I'm not the only one, people were bringing in huge fish: trout, redfish, black drum. Overall great resort
