I was leery about staying here after reading some bad reviews, but overall, it was OK. I spent the first evening getting on my hands and knees cleaning the floor with a spray cleaner which I brought with me. The floor was sticky and there was lots of hair left behind...... But once cleaned, it was a nice stay and I could walk around in bare feet. The bathrooms were clean (except the floors) and the linens were fine. The place is old and definitely needs some updating and fixing, but it was tolerable. The bed was comfortable. There was a fireworks display in the bay the first night which was fun to watch, but not sure why..... The ladies at the front desk were very, very nice and very accommodating when I needed more toilet paper, towels and paper towels. These are things you need if you stay here as they are lacking: toaster, decent fry pan, oven mitts, can opener, good lathering hand and bath soap, extra dish towels, cutting board, dish drainer, pizza pan, etc. The hallway smelled like dogs, not sure why. There were two dogs down the hall barking. However, this place is no longer pet friendly as of April 25th. I was able to have a guest for a few nights at no extra fee. There was a $79 resort fee. The pool was big with lots of chairs and lounge chairs. It was advertised to be heated, but it was quite chilly. We had a room with a view to the bay which was great!. I had to clean the balcony table and chairs and they were old, but after cleaning all was fine to sit and see the view. Overall, my hubby and I enjoyed the stay here. The lady at the desk said management is working on upgrading and there will be new furniture next year. I'm not sure how the price compares to other places, as we booked through our travel club. Again, overall, it was a pleasant stay.

There was a lot of paperwork I needed to fill out upon arrival which I didn't mind much as it reassured me they knew who was staying here.
*
NOTE: You must be 21 to stay at this hotel
*
Don't book directly with the hotel as a base rate will be at least $120/night (what I was told), and by booking with a third party site I saved almost $30 on my room.
*
The rooms were nice, but the floor always had moisture on it somehow along with a gritty feeling (sand maybe?). I felt like I had to wear shoes. Furniture was also extremely dirty and could see visible crumbs. This was one of the rooms that had the option of an optional adjoining room, but only the other room had a lock on their side. kinda made me nervous that at any point the people in the connecting room could unlock it and come in my room.
*
The internet was also very spotty and would say "too far from connection" even when I was in the center of my room.
*
The reason this was still a 3-circle stay is due to the incredibly nice and pleasant staff at the front desk.

Price and location were excellent for my type of stay. Big pool and hot tub (closes at 11pm),ice maker on the end of the hall. Perfect for vacationing college students, people with younger children, or older people that still like to have a good time and save a couple of bucks. The rooms were clean the kitchen was stocked with all kind of utensils the only thing that was missing was a blender 😏🍹. The bed was soft and comfortable to sleep in. The view were awesome. You can watch all the boats coming and going. No smoking in the rooms but they provide you with ashtrays for the balconies. The only reason I did not give them five stars was the fact that the pull-out sofa was made out of a pleather material, #1 it was peeling and #2 the peelings were getting all over the floor and I was constantly having to swept up. I used a bed sheet to help contain the peeling couch because the kids complained about it being uncomfortable to sit on especially with the pieces sticking to them 😒.
Very quiet and private. Late night security guard and plenty of cameras all over the property to ensure the safety of you, jet skis, boats and vehicles ECT. Convenience store right across the street. Boat rental right behind hotel walking distance. Several bars within walking distance. Enjoyed my stay would return again! Oh and Cindy at the front desk took excellent care of us, polite and professional!

This was our family's 12th time staying at Marina Bay, and it was definitely our last. We really tried to give the new owner the benefit of the doubt, but it is as if the owner doesn't really want people to be at the resort, he just wants people to pay for a resort. We paid twice as much this year for less space. We should have stayed on Okaloosa Island with the rest of our friends.

Everything says the pool is heated, but the owner decided not to heat it anymore. The deck chairs are far from inviting. The hot tub had stuff growing in it, and plenty of stuff floating. The "Retro Room" which had been a great place to meet, is no longer open to guests even though it's on the map and the sign on the door says it's a great place for guests to gather. There used to be a great sand volleyball court, but now one of the posts is gone and it's just overgrown. There is a game room which could be a good space if anyone cared for it. Little things like having a functional net on the ping pong table could easily be addressed, but clearly isn't a priority.

When we went to get into bed the first night, we realized the bed had been completely made, except without a fitted sheet! Apparently we were supposed to sleep on the mattress pad! The kitchen showed more examples of not caring about the people staying there. It's supposed to be a somewhat stocked kitchen, but it's just whatever was leftover. We had two spoons and bowls for four people, no cookie sheet or way to heat something in the oven, and a mini coffee maker with regular sized filters.

Our friends paid about the same price for condos on Okaloosa Island.

This is one of the dirtiest, mismanaged places we've ever stayed at and it's in desperate need of repairs and upgrades. It has a kitchenette but they only leave you a small bottle of detergent, no dish towels, no sponge and no detergent to use the dishwasher. Pulled dirty cups out of the cabinet, drawer handles are dirty, outside sitting area is filthy and someone left a glass full of cigarette butts on the table and cleaning staff just left it sit there. Bathrooms and bedroom were ok but the carpet is stained. Upon arrival the ladies at the front desk did their best but lack of staff and staff that actually worked made check in a nightmare. Check in was at 4 pm but we weren't given our rooms til almost 7 pm because they had almost no one to clean rooms and the ones they did have were seen on their phones more than they were cleaning. Will say they have a decent pool. This is nothing more than a cash cow for the owner. He just collects the money and doesn't put any of it back into the hotel.

I've stayed at Marina bay in the past 4 or 5 time and really enjoy the place. However things have changed greatly. When we arrived we had to wait for our room because it was being cleaned - if you want to say that. The room had an order from the cleaning products and the floor was still damp. That night when I removed my socks They were BLACK on the bottom from walking around the suites tile floor. In the morning I took a towel and wiped one floor tile and the tile was black. One of the toilets didn't work and the pool was a dark green color and closed.
When I went to the office there were two other people complaining about the same floor issues THE FILTH! They sent a cleaning person to clean the floor who sprayed the floor with some type of cleaning product I think and wiped over the floor with a Swiffer type mop which just moved the filth around. I wipe the floor with a clean white towel which was black. I showed this to the cleaning person who was very very rude and said this what I was told to do. So I wiped down the whole floor with towels.
I complained the next day to the manager Connie , who was also rude. She sent over their best house cleaner who used a different cleaner and proper mop that she could rinse. Her comment WOW that dirty. The floor was better but I again clean the damp floor with a towel. I f you stay here and get a towel that's stained with dirt it well be one of the ones I cleaned the floor with. The pool was dark green and was told there was an issue with the filter system. I wonder how long because it takes some time for a pool to change to the color green .It was repaired after three day and was enjoyable for the remainder of our stay.

The internet was down for 4 days which we were told it was from a storm the prior week. if it take this long for internet company to repair replace them.

This brings me to the final issue which I didn't tell them until we checked . There was something living in the ceil over our two bathrooms and in the front wall. I believe it was either mice or what I really believe was Bats.

I just hope Marina bay's new owners take some pride in this complex and bring it back to it's glory.

We were in town for a funeral and decided to spend extra on a room on the water with a view. The only good thing about this experience was the view.

The issues were endless. Upon check in another guest was complaining about the litany of issues and the overcharge she experienced. Thank goodness we had no extra cost issues. However, here is how pur experience went:

Friday morning called 11am for early check in. Told to wait until normal 3pm check in. Arrived at 3pm, told our room might be ready before they close the front desk at 4:30pm. Asked what happens if it's not, was told hopefully it would and they would call me. Didn't call me so I called after 4 and told room ready.

At this "resort" check in we were informed that the jacuzzi is broken, you have to take out your own trash, you have to wear a wristband on property at all times and pay a $10 fee if not returned, have to return dirty towels in a bag ( what bag?) to front desk for new ones and only provided 2 sets for a 3 day stay. No daily cleaning service. The bathtub was moldy, none of the appliances in the kitchen worked, the air conditioner on high fan/ cold air setting barely cooled the room, the bathroom vents were dirty and the floor was the dirtiest we had ever experienced! The bed did seem clean, but one of our towels had a big stain on it. The handy man came quickly to fix the TV and we were told this happens unexplainably all the time so we chose to never turn it off for 3 days. The pool was a scary shade of green and was 3 feet below normal the first day we arrived.

The only saving grace was we chose a room with a deck view of the harbor so we tried to sit outside when possible. There is no sun cover so often too hot to do so. The downstairs common area has oddly flashing lights at night due to broken strings of lights. The outside seemed nice, bur we didn't trust this place enough to explore further. We had to ask for toilet paper, Kleenex and trash bags during our stay. This place frankly sucks and wasn't worth the $200+ per night cost. We would get better value at a $40 / night hole in the wall! You can tell this place was once amazing, but everything has aged and fallen into disrepair. This needs sold to someone who wants to restore it to glory.

Our stay at Marina Bay was the most disappointing place I've ever experienced. On a 12 night vacation of the gulf coast this was the most expensive place we stayed and the worst room. Upon arrival the room appeared to be ok. But as we started to look around we noticed a lot of different issues. The worst being the bedding in the bedroom. When we pulled the comforter down we saw a lot of hair and blood and yellow stuff on the unwashed sheets. These weren't stains, this was left behind from whoever stayed in this room before us. We called the front desk and the woman working sounded like she didn't know what to do and reluctantly said she would find new bedding and bring it to us. It was after 10 pm and I understand she was the only one working, but it took over 45 minutes before she arrived with clean bedding. It was king size bedding to put on a queen size bed. So we had to change the bedding ourselves, and it didn't fit the bed. When we slept this night we woke up on the bare mattress because the fitted sheet didn't properly fit the mattress. So gross. I had to give my kids pillows that had makeup all over them (again unwashed) and a blanket that was also soiled. We also had noticed the bathroom counters were not clean and were sticky with hair on them. The carpet didn't look vacuumed. There was exposed wiring on the wall when you first entered the room. Thick layers of dust on the chain of the lighting in the living room. The dishwasher didn't work and the coffee pot was missing. This place wouldn't be acceptable under $100 and yet it cost us one hundred seventy four dollars for one night. When we were leaving we saw housekeeping sweeping the carpet in the hallways instead of vacuuming them. We told the woman at checkout all the issues with the room and she took notes and said her manager would reach out to us, but here we are 9 days later and haven't heard anything. Also this place makes you wear rubber bracelets the entire time you are here like it is Disney or something. Makes no sense for a slummy hotel. If the manager would like to reach me my name is Mindy Vogl. We stayed July 13 for one night.

This place is the perfect spot to RELAX! It’s so close to the beach and great restaurants. The unit we stayed in was a one bedroom with a sofa bed. Very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are very small but manageable. The kids really enjoyed the 9ft pool and game room. The staff was very friendly.
Just a few helpful hints to the next travelers. The laundry is a coin laundry, no washer/dryer in unit. Kinda tough when you constantly have wet swimsuits and towels.
The courtyard rooms have a balcony light that does not have an off switch, it is controlled by the office. Light comes in the windows at night.
Can’t wait to visit again. It has become our family favorite getaway.

May as well stay in a super 8
With no view. The dishwasher was broken and it was only a foot high anyway. , the furniture and carpet needed replaced. The tubs needed re grouted . The microwave was on top of the refrigerator. I'm only 5 foot so it was difficult to reach.. The rooms were like a hotel suite with a door that was unlocked to make it appear like a condo. It needed a good cleaning as well.
