Oceans Edge Resort & Marina Key West offers a polarizing experience; while many guests commend the staff's warmth and the resort's serene, picturesque setting perfect for angling and unwinding, others find the distance from downtown Key West less than ideal. The cleanliness and beautiful atmosphere, including inviting pools and live music, receive accolades, though some visitors highlight housekeeping inconsistencies and noise disruptions. Despite enjoying the spacious, well-maintained rooms, guests have called out the resort's value, questioning the steep prices alongside the mandatory gratuities for food and additional fees for resort and parking services.

A nice place with large rooms that are well appointed. Beds were rather hard and pillows really soft. The grounds are modest in size but smartly designed with several small pools to cater to different crowds along with outdoor games (chess, ping pong, etc.). Housekeeping is inconsistent - they cleaned some things and not others, had to specifically request soap for bathroom sink. Rooms are expensive ($500/night) but made worse by lots of junk fees ($50 per room resort fee, $10 tax, $27 parking). Location means going through a slightly crappy neighborhood. A 5-10 minutes scooter ride to shopping and supplies. Nice place but pricey.

It was my fiancé's and my frst time in Key West, and we wanted a room with an ocean view. The other hotels in the area just weren't cutting it as they seemed to have a parking lot, then the street, and then finally the ocean view. We then found Ocean's Edge Resort and Marina and liked what we saw on line and booked our room. We couldn't have been more happier with our choice. If we come back to Key West, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

The Resort is off the beaten path, which we loved since it was more quiet that way. The ground were well kept, and since it was considered "off season" in Key West, there weren't mobs of people everywhere to contend with.

The pools were clean, the on-site restaurant had good food, and the staff were very informative ( we were here during Tropical Storm / Hurricane Helene. ) The Resort sent out frequent updates via text keeping us up to date on conditions of the storm as well as the Resort.

If we were to come back to Key West, I don't think we'd even look elsewhere, we'd 100% book at Ocean's Edge again!

Room was nice but could be a little cleaner as we noticed dust and dirt in corners and doors, trim, door handles, and light switches had several splatters and dirty fingerprints, etc. I ended up wiping down all of the doors, door handles and light switches when we arrived because they were dirty, and we did not want to get sick. There were several marks and scuffs on the walls too, making the room look quite "beat up," especially considering the hefty price we paid for the room. A paint touch up and deep cleaning would go a long way! Bedding, other than pillows, were comfortable. Pillows flattened out and gave us sore necks. Small refrigerator in wet bar would not open, so we only had one bar small refrigerator in main room. It would have been nice to have two refrigerators. Property had nice amenities but could use hot tubs/spas. Yellowfin Grill was excellent- atmosphere, service, and quality and value of food and beverages- but it would be nice to have a small cafe that was open all day for light meals and snacks. Amenities should also include rental of fishing gear. Swimming pools were nice and clean. Swimming pool seating was abundant. I like that there were several swimming pools to choose from. Kayak and paddle board rentals were a nice touch and very convenient. Gatekeeper at front of property lets anyone in, so it did not seem extremely safe, especially since the neighborhood around the property is a bit sketchy. It would be nice if gatekeeper checked ID, parking pass, or something. Elevator needs a deep cleaning. Overall, enjoyed our stay. We really enjoyed walking the Marina and looking at the boats.

This location, while unique, expensive (holiday week) it clearly missed the mark. We are very experienced (Titanium Level Travelers). About 30 minutes before our evening arrival: got email of room type change to "accessible room". Not Happy at all. Restaurant is very slow too. Poolside service non-existent for lunch. Poolside towels not readily available on Days 2, 3. Hotel pricing is "premium", but service is clearly lacking.

Most importantly, original reservations made in June 2024, for Partial Ocean Guest Room with balcony---should never have been changed to "accessible room type". We do not use wheel chairs; we are not handicapped in any way. The bathroom/shower combinations in these types of rooms easily flood and recognized by the hospitality industry of a downgraded room.

We made our reservations in good faith in June 2024, only to be notified 30 minutes before arriving that we had been downgraded.

Restaurant Food was decent, but the delivery was extraordinarily slow.

Travelers should consider alternatives, before making Ocean Edge reservations.

First the location is not good. You cannot walk to any other restaurants or stores in the vicinity. The resort is surrounded by a very sketchy looking trailer park that is a mile long. Additionally, the other restaurants etc are a mile or longer to walk to. They will show closer on apps but that is how the crow flies. You have to drive to go anywhere else besides the resort or you can take the shuttle that only goes to the Waterfront brewery. The shuttle leaves at the hour and picks up at the hour from i believe 10 am to 11:25pm it is convenient to travel into key west but it only goes and picks up from the brewery. Uber and Lyft are a 20$ one way trip.

Second, the view is just okay yes there is a boat Marine and a view of the ocean or gullf but a power plant or refuse area dominates the landscape over the partial view of the water. That view is for two of the bigger buildings. We stayed in building four which had a nice mangrove view that extended out to the ocean but you are the farthest building from the pools and other amenities.

Third, there was nothing special as far as staff or people going out of their way like I read in reviews for this hotel. Nothing was bad but nobody went over the top. Key thing I learned from reviews a mandatory gratuity is charged for all purchases I believe it is 18%. Also, there is pool side service but. it is one person serving all 6 pools. You can expect service every 45 minutes. You can goto the restaurant for service but you go to the bar like everyone else. Also, the restaurant houses the only bathroom. So every time you have to "go" when in the pool you have to walk through the restaurant or back to your room. Which for us was a decent walk. The restaurant is nice and people are dressed business casual as you walk through in your trunks dripping.

Finally, the restarant had good tasting drinks and dinner. The price is expensive for some 52$ for and entree 20$ for drinks, but I had no questions about the price after eating. Oysters do seem to be pre-shucked and chilled for service. I felt this way because a few of mine were missing their liquor.

If we go back to Key West we will probably stay at this resort because of price and the hotel is peaceful. Nothing that we saw walking thru Key West as tourists led us to believe their was a better place to stay. I gave the hotel 3 stars because they do everything good but nothing stood out to me as better than everybody else or Luxury.

I wrote the review because I felt misled after reading the reviews and staying at the hotel. I would not consider Oceans Edge a High end resort it is a good resort that provides a break from the hustle and bustle of Duvall.

The Ocean Edge Resort was outstanding in every way. We were in a one bedroom suite overlooking the marina and it was the epitome of luxury and comfort. Living room was airy and included a wet bar, large flat screen tv and comfortable seating.
The bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower, the bedroom has a large screen flat screen tv, more seating, a luxurious and comfortable bed and a balcony overlooking the marina. The restaurant served a good variety of food to please every taste, with nightly entertainment in the patio area, along with cozy fires, throughout the somewhat chilly nights (mid January)
The complimentary shuttles to Key West and the down town area was an unexpected treat and the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. The morning driver ( I believe his name was Bob) was captivating with his stories of Key West and his very helpful suggestions as to dining and attractions!

The Oceans Edge Resort & Marina was absolutely gorgeous. Conveniently located a few miles away from Key West on Stock Island you had the best of both worlds. Great location for fishing & lobstering and still close to Duval St. to visit in the evenings. Marina can accommodate any sized boats & yachts and the six pools through the property are very well maintained and they feel very private. 10/10 would recommend. We were a group of two couples & we really enjoyed the spacious rooms with great sized balconies & views

We were looking for sunshine and selected Oceans Edge Resort & Marina when we arrived even though the weather was not great we were greeted with warmth by Christine on the fron desk and Claudia her manager who were both welcoming and did everything in their power to make our stay memorable the resort is beautiful very clean and all the staff around the resort are very helpful from the restaurant where Jose the server would ensure that you are served with a smile and ensure that if you have any allegories he would ensure that the kitchen would be aware of and ensure that you would have a perfect experience at the restaurant.
Equally the drivers which operate the shuttle between the resort and key West who were extremely cheerful and would recommend restaurants and bars and ensure that they give directions to the guests to ensure that they do not get lost and here I am referring to Jeffrey,Bob ,and Kevin who were excellent I would certainly return to this resort in a heartbeat .
I should also mention that the rooms are excellent with great views over the Marina and the resort helps you relax

It’s not often that you experience a stay at a resort that everything is perfect. Well, we did. I took my wife and two other couples to Oceans Edge for her 50th birthday celebration. The moment we checked in our shoulders dropped because of the laid back vibe. They have great music playing throughout the resort, relaxing island fragrance piped into the ducts as you walk into your room, clean rooms with great views. The staff was amazing and very attentive. Kayla took wonderful care of us by the pool and Sophia was a gem at the front desk. This was our 2nd time at the resort and won’t be our last!

Visiting Key West, FL for the first time, I found this hotel to be ideal, week-kept, and clean. Although many reviews speak negatively about the surrounding homes outside the gate of the hotel, our shuttle driver debunked those negative reviews. I never felt unsafe or intimidated, so don't let those reviews intimidate you; the home owners are hardworking individuals.

They do charge a resort and parking fee. I felt the additional fees were worth the on- property experiences and activities. However, I didn't pay for parking because we didn't bring a vehicle. I reserved a suite for my family of four. Due to the world outrage and flight cancelation, we ended up staying an additional two nights in a double room. The front desk staff welcomed us back with open arms and were happy to accommodate us again. While both rooms were nice, I highly recommend the suite style room for the extra space and sitting area.

Each section of the hotel has its own pool. All of the pools were clean with plenty of towels. Once you reserve your room, reserve the activities to take advantage of the free/paid activities such as yoga, painting, paddleboarding, biking, etc. Heather, Andrew, and the rest of the crew at the Tiki Hut provided the best experiences! Heather personally sent pictures of me and my children after taking her paddle board class. When we had to return to the property after our flight cancelation, I texted Heather, and she suggested numerous activities to keep us occupied.

The hotel offers a free shuttle that takes you downtown KW. Be sure you're at the pick up and drop off on time to avoid getting left behind.

I could not have asked for a better experience! I'm glad we chose to stay here away from the downtown noise and busyness. Ocean's Edge provided a beautiful, relaxing oasis!

By the way, the key lime pie at the restaurant is delicious!

I'm guessing you can park on the street close to the resort. Or ask the hotel politely to comp your parking. There are shops along the highway. I stopped by a big CVS to get some snacks.

No, if you don’t mind using the resort shuttle into Key West. It leaves on the hour and takes you to the marina in Key West, about a 15 minute shuttle ride. It picks up at 25 after every hour. Uber and Lyft are quite expensive, actually the rates in Key West are the highest in the U.S., but they are readily available. I don’t recommend using a car in Key West as parking is a premium and there are plenty of transportation options once you get to town.
