Nice central location in Old Town, quiet although it was in one block from all the happenings on Duval Street. Our room was in the annex building. The room seemed clean. Day time housekeeping was lackluster. We checked in Monday night and checked out on Friday. Day time housekeeping left two towels for our party of four and didn’t service the room at all Tuesday. Wednesday she left four sets of towels on the couch outside the room and again didn’t service the room at all which left me emptying trash, putting dirty linens and cups outside the door for two days, we almost ran out of toilet paper. I called the front desk both days and they seemed perplexed and insisted that maybe the do not disturb sign was on the door, which it was not. The phone in the room didn’t work, it read no service. Our final night the refrigerator had an alarm that went off at 4:34 am. Finally got it to stop by increasing the temperature a couple of degrees. (We had not previously touched the temperature control at all) The room was only fully serviced the one day by day time housekeeping on Thursday. I mentioned these things to the desk attendant when we left Friday and he also seemed perplexed as well and suggested that I should have called the desk (which I did). At the price point one should not be running out of toilet paper and emptying their own trash daily. We did not let this ruin our trip and there was a night time housekeeper and she was delightful.

Our third trip to Key West and first at the Marquesa. We stayed at the 414 property which is very nice. The weather was cooler than usual with the highs in the 60's. The check in was flawless as the room was ready a little bit early and we needed the rest. All necessary amenities were available in the room and worked flawlessly.
The location is very central and a couple of quiet blocks from the noisy Duval but close enough to easily visit when needed. The grocery and bakery were 1 minute walks.
Rooms were cleaned quickly each day but not as perfect with some remaining floor debris . Thermostat worked nicely and porch was a nice feature. Extra pillows and blankets when needed.
Rooms are expensive in January and don't forget parking expense as well as $40 per day +tax resort fee + Room sales tax and lodging tax.
They own the adjacent Cafe Marquesa which is a 5 star restaurant and was perfect for our night to try it, but you do need advance reservations.
Can't review the pool as no one was in it with the weather but there was plenty of seating it appeared.
The continental breakfast seemed the same each day with juice and pastries. Everyone seemed disappointed they didn't have hot items which even the chain hotels currently have. We ate breakfast elsewhere (Blue Heaven the best) after a couple of days of the same here. We did use an Uber (quick and efficient) for the Southernmost point locations.
All in all a great hotel with two locations close by and one of the best locations in all of Old Town Key West.

Our family made an excellent decision when we chose the Marquesa for our Christmas respite. The Marquesa offers guests comfortable and well equipped rooms next to intimate lush gardens and pools. Our adjacent rooms had a covered porch and cafe tables to enjoy our coffee or wine in the serene oasis (even in the rain), only steps from the pools, one heated, one not. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly (with a glass of wine) and promptly. During check-in we met the owner who was not working on the holiday, but who had stopped by to deliver gifts. It was evident that every staff member shares her pride and dedication to customer service. Everyone we encountered was lovely, friendly and attentive from managers Drew and Keith, whose conversations we enjoyed, to the caretakers and housekeepers, even Bob the cat. We all felt welcomed and appreciated. The property and rooms were spotless. The beds were very comfy. There were always enough clean pool towels and the wet ones were removed immediately. The continental breakfast was an assortment of muffins, pastries and fresh fruit, and nice rich coffee. We appreciated the no smoking policy and having no bar also kept the vibe more like a sanctuary than a resort. Loved it! Cafe Marquesa, where we dined on our last night is highly recommend fine dining in a cozy dining room. Everything was absolutely perfect from cocktails to dessert. Our server Franca was attentive and knowledgeable. We were impressed that both the manager and the chef checked on our table. Our entrees were Grilled Veal Chop, Grilled Swordfish presented gorgeously with delicious sides. All four of us said it was the best meal we have ever had! For dessert we shared Key Lime Pie and their famous Beignets which were heavenly and light. The Marquesa was charming and truly refreshing. Overall a lovely experience. Thank you.

The Marquesa is well located, very close to Duval Street restaurants and bars. There is no doubt that location wise this is a winner but the rest of the experience was uninspiring and certainly not in line with the room rate. The room didn’t have black out curtains so there was plenty of light getting through the blinds. The bathroom was dated with shower above an old bathtub. Noisy air conditioning kept us awake all night. The hotel lacked atmosphere and felt more like a care home. Staff at reception was opinionated and had an answer for everything. “Resort fee” was a hidden charge, quite outrageous actually to pay to provide iced water and other services that should be included in the price of the accommodation. Breakfast rate didn’t include breakfast in the end, we felt trapped into paying more, very misleading.

An exquisite hotel. The rooms are well appointed and airy. Noble House Corp. now owns 50% of the hotel. The corporate interest shows in a couple of subtle ways: the house cat, Bob, is no longer on premises and what was used as a breakfast room is now a lobby. When attending an annual event in KW, the breakfast room was convivial and conducive to chatting with the writers at the seminar. It was also included in the daily rate. Now, breakfast can be purchased at their cafe, not located in the hotel. This effectively shuts down any morning chats. Two muffins and a fruit plate for $42, less the $25 breakfast allowance.
The housekeepers, Alex and Janka, have been there for years - they remember us and greet us warmly. It makes the place feel like coming home. Their work is impeccable. I hope they will be there when we next return.
Four stars, vs. five, for a decreased feeling of coziness and fun.

Service fully compatible with highest expectations - our room (#2) had a terrace that allowed us to fully enjoy the unique ambience of the surroundings, especially "under the lights". Staff is uncommonly responsive and friendly, breakfast featured home-baked delicacies, everything was spotless. Cannot wait to repeat!

The Marquesa is a lovely boutique hotel that is perfectly located within walking distance of shops, bars, the waterfront and the heart of Key West. We stayed in room 26 - a center room above the two swimming pools. The rooms are gorgeous with large beautiful bathrooms. The tall ceiling heights make the rooms feel airy. There are plenty of in room amenities - coffee, mini bar with a nice selection of drinks. The walls are thin. We heard the couple next door fighting first in the evening and then again very early the next morning. One call to the front desk had it sorted quickly. Kudos to the staff for a quick resolution.
They have 2 pools, one heated, one chilly. They provide a nice continental breakfast but there is no lunch service or bar. We didn't try Cafe Marquesa, the dinner restaurant at the hotel, but heard that it was very good. There are so many great places to eat within a short walk from the hotel, so no having those option at the hotel wasn't an issue.
Guests tended to wake early and "save" loungers at the pool. Many of them would do that early in the morning leaving the property for hours and returning to reclaim seats. For a small boutique property, this is a problem. Other places have taken steps to prevent guests from this type of behavior. I think if it becomes a bigger issue, this property should do the same.
We would recommend and return to this property. It's perfect for a weekend getaway.

Loved this hotel . We stayed in the annex and from start to finish it was amazing . The check in staff couldn’t be more helpful from showing us to the room , parking the car and explaining all the hotel amenities . The room was large and airy with a cute balcony to sit in. The pool was small but perfect to sit and chill at , it was never busy when we were there ( you can also use the pool at the main hotel ) we ate breakfast and dinner there , it was the best dinner of the trip , well worth it . Could have stayed much longer .

We have stayed at this property several times, both prior to and after their expansion. They have never put a foot wrong and always work to make our visits ideal. The rooms are exactly as described, pool access is mellow, any issues that might crop-up are handled immediately, recommendations for food are on point, etc. The lemon water stationed about the property is even always cold! The location is close to everything but not close enough that you hear Duval street when sitting on a balcony.
As they have grown and changed hands, they have done a fantastic job of retaining staff and the culture that makes Marquesa so very special. Our Key West trips will continue to start with booking a room here.

A lovely, lovely hotel in the midst of old town but a quiet neighborhood. They have 2 properties…the main one has 27 rooms and 2 pools(cool and a warmer one)….the one down the street has 17 rooms and one pool. It is not a problem though…we were not with our friends but it is a 2 minute walk. The staff are all superb and helpful and the rooms are spotless! You can walk barefoot on the floor and have clean feet and not feel a crumb or piece of dirt!! We did a b/b stay and have the beignets with your breakfast!

No, the hotel does not have a poolside bar. Staff do put out coffee and hot water for tea in the morning. There is a high-end restaurant attached to the hotel, but it is not set up for take-out beverages.
"Fausto's", a Key West grocery store, is a block from the hotel and has wine/beer/soda. There are small refrigerators in the Marquesa rooms.
The oval pool on the south side of the property is heated. The rectangular pool closer to the main house is unheated.
The junior suites have private balconies. Even the ones on the first floor are set-back a bit from the pool area and have railings - so feel private. The "poolside standard" room I reviewed has a shared patio which is literally right outside the room door.
There is a parking lot on the ground floor under the south addition (with junior suites). We walked through it - it was never full. People who fly in don't need a car unless they want to drive to other keys.
There are more places to choose from in the Key West area.
