The Hampton Inn Key West is celebrated for its spacious and pristine rooms, with guests frequently complimenting the modern amenities and ocean views that contribute to the hotel's charming atmosphere. While many travelers appreciate the complimentary shuttle service and the inviting pool area, there are occasional remarks about shuttle limitations and breakfast offerings.
Although opinions on value are mixed due to additional fees, the convenience of the location near attractions and the beach is a highlight. However, some guests recommend improvements in public area upkeep and towel restocking.

Detailed Reviews

We stayed here for one week. Main reasons we booked was because of the price, view, free shuttle to downtown and airport, and the free breakfast. Nothing disappointed. The free shuttle between downtown runs about every 45 minutes from 8AM to 10:30 PM. It drops you off at the Waterfront Brewery. There a lot of restaurants located here or it is a short walk to Duval. You should put your name on the schedule located at the front desk to hold your spot. We took the free shuttle every day. Drivers are very friendly. We also used the free Duval Shuttle. When we arrived I called the hotel and the van was right there. Leaving, we put our departure time on the sign-up sheet. Free breakfast was your typical free breakfast buffet. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, cupcakes, bread, juice, coffee, tea. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Watch out for wild chickens and ibis! Ask the front desk if you prefer decaffeinated coffee. There are always free bottles of water at the front desk. Rooms are very nice, clean, quiet, with a king size bed, balcony. We had a view of the pool and ocean (room 242). Only issue was there was no soap dispenser in the shower, When I called the front desk they said it was a supply issue so they would give us bars of soap.

Hotel's Favourite
My daughter and I took a long weekend vacation to Key West and stayed at the Hampton Inn. We really enjoyed our stay there for the following reasons.
Since we were able to drive down, we booked a snorkeling sunset cruise via the concierge ahead of time which gave us something special to do when we arrived. The onsite concierge was very helpful with information, activities, maps, and directions.
Our room was comfortable and well-maintained by the cleaning staff. Food-wise, the complimentary breakfasts offered a wide variety of tasty foods. Lunches and dinners could be obtained from the Cheekie Hut in case you didn't want to go back into town. The menu offered a number of tasty appetizers, entrees, and desserts (delicious Key Lime pie!). A drink card was issued at check-in for 2 free drinks a day. There was a wide variety of beverages available.
The pool was enormous and allowed enough room for peace and quiet, even though there were a number of children present.
The biggest perk was THE COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE!! The August heat made it virtually impossible to stay in town all day. The shuttle started at 8AM and finished at 10PM. It ran frequently enough to be really useful getting back and forth from downtown to the hotel.

Spent two nights here in June with our family of four (two adults, two children). Location was great for us because we did not want to be right in the center of all the action and bars of Key West. This hotel is a couple of miles away from all of that, but it puts you right next to the sea wall and a nice view of the ocean. As others have mentioned, you are very close to the Key West Airport and you will hear the planes landing and taking off. They were respectful of sleeping hours though. I think the earliest I heard a plane take off was around 7:45 am. We did not have an ocean-facing room which kind of stunk but the grounds, pool, and breakfast were all great. The room itself was large enough for the four of us and our luggage with a tv and small fridge. The balcony could have been nice but ours faced a wall so we didn't use it. The pool area was great and never got too busy and we typically didn't have any problem finding seating. We appreciated the shallow areas of the pool so our 5 year old could swim and touch the bottom. Breakfast was great also with our entire family finding something that we liked.
Transportation to the Duval street area was great; you just sign up on a clipboard at the front desk with the desired time you want to leave. The return back was not great, however. The downside to returning is that there is no form, line, or honor system on getting back. We got to our pickup location 15 minutes early but as others arrived there was no order and once the bus arrived, everyone rushed to get a spot on the bus and several of us were left once it filled up. The downside to this is the bus only comes once an hour, even if there are more people waiting to get back to the hotel. I'm not sure why the driver couldn't drop off the first group of people and then come back for the others but I guess those are the rules. We found a taxi that took our family back to the hotel for $20.
Lastly, there is a $30 daily fee that covers the bus transportation, parking, and two drinks at their bar. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider this hotel again if we ever visited Key West. If you're wanting to be right in the thick of Key West's bar and tourist scene then I would suggest another hotel.

The hotel room was very spacious and clean.
Employees were friendly and helpful. Standard guest get complementary water bottels and two drinks per day at the bar, which was very nice.
Location is ablut 10 min walking distance to the beach, close to the airport and hast 2-3 restaurants close to it. Getting to Duval Street (“Key West City center”) will require transportation as its not close.
The rooms were ok equipped, floors were very slippery (especially in the bathroom) and the door didn’t close properly (door needed to be lifted and pulled heavy). Most disturbing were the airplanes which fly very close to the hotel (my toddler got scared many times bye the noise).
As mentioned, the rooms very very clean, which I cant say about the breakfast area. It felt like it would be cleaned only prior and after the breakfast period, whereby cleaning in between is necessary as many guest pass bye, eat, and leave. Otherwise ok, not too bad experience for us but also not an amazing stay.

I can start with this. There is a $30 plus tax (service) charge per day per room. I did not see this because it is at the bottom of the reservation and/or confirmation thru HH. For this, you do get 2 drinks per day at the bar and free parking. I just have issues being charged extra fees when we are already paying high costs for rooms usually. I will continue complaining until they quit charging for parking or, in this case, something else to raise the costs anyway they can.
Now for the stay. I have to give a shout out to Kim, the front desk clerk, and Chris, one of the managers. I have mobility issues and had a difficult time getting to an upstairs room that was far from the elevator. They both provided great customer service, and Chris went above and beyond to assist with getting my room moved. So thank you to the fullest. Then we had two other front desk clerks that we dealt with lacked any customer service skills, so I don't know why they were even working there.
The rooms are clean, very nice and good locations for the reservation I made with an ocean view. The only noise we heard was from the room above us with walking and moving stuff around. Other than that, it is a quiet resort for the most part. We were even by the pool. Beds are comfortable, and bedding is clean and crisp as usual for most Hamptons.
Bar service was very good, food service lacked ANY customer service. We had the same female bring food out both days. The food was just okay. Wings were probably the best thing we had out of the food we did get here.
I would return here even now that I am aware of the fees. They have a concierge in the lobby to assist with any plans you would like or have and also suggestions plus maps. So very convenient.
I would highly recommend this location if you want to be out of downtown Key West and the crowds, but still have quick and easy access to visit downtown, southern most point and Duval Street.

Stayed for Thanksgiving week (family of 4). You cannot beat it when traveling with family. Book a pool view if you have kids so you can always watch them.
- Free breakfast is a huge perk but the fact they have longer hours (until 10:30) was amazing because my teen wakes later than us.
- Location on the water is perfect for morning sunrise.
- The resort fee was a surprise at the end and I wasn’t expecting an additional $200 on my bill. But it did allow us to have 2 waters each day and 2 cocktail's. The price of breakfast would have been much higher so I’m good with it.
- Housekeeping is the only complaint. I was there 6 nights and there were multiple days nobody came. I called the desk one morning before heading to the beach to ask them to come… they didn’t. The next day I called again and was told they only work till 5pm and try to get it in. My room was full of sand from 2 days at a beach so this was disappointing. When they did eventually come they didn’t even vacuum, only made the beds and changed towels.

We approached this hotel with concern considering a recent review in which the reviewer considered the proper a motel that was loud and inconvenient. Although his description of proximity to airport is accurate and the property is clearly renovated, we have been pleasantly surprised with our stay. The price beat several VRBOs once you added fees and includes breakfast. The airplane traffic is minimal and not at all at night. We also found that while on a bike tour of Old Town, the tour guide had to pause for a landing plane and that location was nowhere near the Hampton. My husband and I felt the reviewer failed to consider that few properties in the Old Town district would have access to a room this size that is newly remodeled. From what we have seen, to get a pool and breakfast (typical Hampton Inn fare) included, this would not be available near Old Town or would only be met by a much high priced resort. The hotel staff has consistently checked in with us via text, and although housekeeping services are limited to daily trash and towel replacement, that was done in a timely manner each morning. On-site concierge was also friendly and convenient.

The rooms are small nice but I found they only clean every other day so don’t use your towels after paying just about $400 a night I had to ask for towels and the person at the front desk actually said well let’s see you came in on Tuesday so you are scheduled for. I said wait I don’t care when i arrived. I have NO towels! I don’t need them to clean every day but at least give fresh towels and take out trash! If you don’t go to pool early you will not get towels either Or a lounge chair for that matter. There are also no umbrellas for shade at pool unless you sit by the bar
The bar closes at 9 pm and they lock the gates at 10 pm so if you want just to hang out it’s not happening Bar needs to stay open till at least 10 if not 11 pm. Breakfast food is mediocre. Very salty eggs. There is no beach you have to drive to one. Oh one more thing if you get 2 queen beds one of the beds is 5 inches from the air conditioner which is in the wall and level with the bed so it blows right on the bed .

Great hotel.
Rooms spacious and even though we had booked a pool view we had ocean and pool view room.
Whilst I am not a fan of hotels charging daily destination fees; these extras justify the cost. Frequent Shuttle bus service to Downtown Key West ran by the funny and kind driver Rene (who by the way definitely deserves a raise as he was amazing). 2x alcoholic drinks per day per room. Covers wide range of cocktails etc, which would be $12-$14 each without the drinks token.
We chose to eat at the Cheekie Hut everyday, and staff were friendly and food was great and was delivered very fast and of great quality. Free water bottles, pool towels which when we were there , the towels were replenished hourly.
The airport is directly under the flight path so it can be noisy, but we are used to that as it’s the same where we live.
Just a few niggles:
- Shower isn’t too powerful and the water never seemed to get hot enough.
- Although breakfast is included, the hot food is limited and wasn’t ever that hot.
- We seemed to have been bitten quite a bit. We believe this is from the smoking hut which is just by a small river.
However, we would definitely return should any of our future USA trips takes us back to Key West.

Rooms in this hotel are huge and nicely decorated. Microwave very useful. Safe and fridge in the room. We stayed on the 2nd floor away from the road. Lift to second floor. The noise of aircrafts didn’t disturbed us as the last one is around 8pm. Breakfast was a bit chaotic. Not enough tables inside and the area is too small. Not well design for an easy flow of people queuing. I enjoyed making my own waffles. Parking is free which is nice and you can park near your room which makes it easier to carry your suitcases. The resort fee of 30 dollars gives you access to two free drinks at the swimming pool bar. Very large pool but we didn’t use it. Sam the receptionist was very pleasant. I would recommend this hotel.

A limited supply is available but I don't think they have hard liquor.
Yes, depending on availability.
There no beach. Just a seawall on the other side of the highway.
They have a roster to sign up on. It will show the time slots with the seats available. I believe it was every 30 minutes. If your desired time slot is full they recommend you show up anyway as it is common for no-shows.
Taxis have flat rates that are reasonable and Uber/Lyft is always available. I never waited long for any transportation.
