We stayed here back in 2010 and enjoyed the atmosphere and proximity to the main street and other interesting destinations including the southern most point of the USA. We were a bit shocked at first at the increase in price since we were last here, but locals told us we were lucky to find any accommodation because the annual Fantasy Fest was underway and rooms are hard to find especially in any location close to the 'action'. Apart from the clean and well appointed rooms, this motel has a great pool area with a big undercover area at one end where the ample breakfast is served. The motel was undergoing some renovations, so I can only imagine how fantastic it will be when finished. We happened to meet some very friendly people who've been staying here for a quite few Fantasy Fests and they invited us to the pool area where they supplied food and drinks to anyone who wanted to join them. The Blue Marlin is only one block to Duvall St and within walking distance to where most things are happening. It's only another block down to the beach and then across another block or 2 to the southern most point of the USA. A great motel in an excellent location with friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Our first trip since 2020 kinda destroyed any thought of vacations.. We arrived here in the afternoon. Nani the front desk wizard, was fabulous in getting us checked in, she answered all our questions and gave us a few tips on where to find a good meal after along trip.
The room was clean, made up well, and I'm pleased to report, bug free. Furniture, since many people seem to be overly conserned about was in good condition.
The rooms come with the standard fare, coffee maker, ample closet, shower, and depending on the room, one or two beds, which were quite comfy.
The are two floors, no elevator.. something to keep in mind. There is a large pool centrally located within the property that is fenced in. There is also what looks like a functioning kitchen located within the same area. Better ask about that... Laundry can also be done on site by pay per wash machines.
Parking is assigned when you arrive, so you have the same slot for your vehicle the entire time your checked in.
All in all, a very good, resonable priced motel for a couple or family in a very expensive area in Florida...

I have been going to Key West since the 1970's so I am quite familiar with the Island, to say it has changed, would be understatement. Back to the Blue Marlin motor Inn. I have stayed there many times over the years as it had a reputation for being a budget hotel and its location is such that you can walk to upper Duval Street (where the tourist action is) in around 15 minutes so you don't need a car. The rooms have been remodeled and they are quite nice. The breakfast is modest, coffee, some toast and pastries, not great, but good enough This is why I titled my review "Nickle and Dime" Starting this year parking your vehicle on the premises incurs a daily $15 parking fee - previously free parking. You have to read the add for the hotel carefully to spot this "hidden" add on. I am tired of hotels advertising one price and then "gotcha" with add on's. This is deceptive practice and should not be allowed.

Stayed here 4 nights while visiting Key West. Location was quiet yet convenient to Trolley Stop, bicycle rental, restaurants, Duvall Street, and walking distance to all major attractions. Very clean room and spacious. Breakfast is minimal but gets you started. Laundry facilities on site. Staff very helpful. WiFi excellent. Beds were comfortable and I liked having 2 sinks with one being separate from shower/toilet area. They allowed us to store luggage til we left for airport. Would highly recommend staying here.

This motel was provided as part of a package through a motorcycle rental agency. It reminded me of a classic roadside motel from the 50's or 60's [in a good way]. The place was clean, had one of the best showers I've used at a hotel in quite some time, hvac worked with no problems, the front desk was accommodating in booking a booze cruise on our party's behalf and it was conveniently located to all places we wished to visit. I would gladly return.

We stayed at the Blue Marlin Motel at the beginning of August. This was our 3rd time to Key West over the last 12 months and the previous hotel we stayed twice before on Duval Street absolutely lost their mind on their rates per night compared to what we paid twice before. As we researched, most of the hotels did except for the Blue Marlin. To be honest, I was skeptical at first, but we thought we’d give it a try. I’m glad we did! I will say the rooms are small with the basics so don’t expect the Ritz or anything close to it unless you want to pay $700+ per night, so I can see where some would complain, so make sure you check your expectations at the door. The rooms were clean, the beds slept pretty good (pillows could use some work), plenty of supplies like towels, shampoo/conditioner, soap, toilet paper, etc. Keep in mind, we visited during one of the hottest months of the year, and I can promise you one thing the air conditioning units were solid and kept the room cooler than anywhere I’ve stayed which was awesome! The refrigerator was a full size mini one, so you could pack plenty of water, sodas, beer, full size wine bottles etc which was also a plus. They also have electronic safes which a lot of places in KW do not. We did rent a car for a few days, so they advised us on the returning the parking pass and the $15.00 per day charge. When we checked out, nothing was hidden and everything was exactly right. Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The staff was friendly from all that we encountered. The Blue Marlin is a historic hotel in Key West, and there is a reason they have been around for decades and more decades to come.

We had a great time in Key West. Staying at the Blue Marlin was the icing on the cake. Super convenient location and never needed our car except to run up to Winn Dixie. Parking around Duval Street is a hassle so we gladly paid the hotel's daily fee of $15.
The daily breakfast was adequate but we enjoyed walking in the morning and sampling the different places to eat in the neighborhood.
Will definitely be back!

Traveled to Key West for a 3 day stay and found the Blue Marlin to be available and at a fairly reasonable rate compared to surrounding properties. Room and property were clean and within walking distance of Duval Street and Southernmost area. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Pool area very nice.
Breakfast buffet offered was basic but there is a nice deli/market just up the street offering breakfast/lunch items.
Would definitely stay there again.

Our recent stay at the Blue Marlin was much better than expected. It is a two story motor court design and has been kept up extremely well. Many of the rooms have recently been renovated and are very nice. The motel is located one block from Duval on the south end of the island near the Southern Most Point. Many restaurants from casual to fine dining are located within easy walking distance. The motel does have a food truck on the premises that has excellent food at reasonable prices. Continental breakfast is also provided in a covered area near the pool. This is a great area for friends and family to gather.
The only negative comment I have is that there isn't an elevator. So if you have a disability and cannot climb stairs, I recommend you request a first floor room when making your reservation. We were given a second floor room on checkin, but thanks to Lee in the office we were later moved to first floor room.

We stayed two nights and were very pleased with our stay. It was in a prime location one block away from Duval Street. Walking distance from almost everything. The rooms were spacious even for 4 adults. The bathrooms were updated and I loved that there was an extra sink and mirror right outside of the bathroom. They had a breakfast that was included in the price of our stay that consisted of juice, coffee, muffins, bagels, yogurt, etc. It was great to help start our day. We had originally booked the motel across the street, but we are so glad that we chose the Blue Marlin. We were lucky we were able to get a room. This hotel appears to be fully booked. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They have maps at the front desk and will kindly let you know where everything is.
