January 2023 A belated review.... Having stayed at Isla Morada on the way down the Keys, along with The National (@ Miami Beach) which was also really good, Almond Tree Inn was the highlight. Trudy and her team gave us excellent service and enjoyment at such an oasis in Key West. With Duval just around the corner, it was always relaxing to return 'home' to Almond Tree. What a great base, either on foot or bicycle. Every member of the team were so personable and attentive. We look forward to returning some day soon. Colm & Michele, Ireland

Wonderful stay! Wish I booked my entire stay at this establishment. Loved the staff, the grounds, and our room was beautiful, comfy & cozy. Everything was clean and well maintained, I love an icebox for a room & was able to freeze my own butt off. The pool and hot tub were great, loved the breakfast area and happy hour. The only little things I wish we had in the room were plates and cutlery since we had a microwave but nothing to put food on or eat with. Also, the water bottles were supposed to be replaced every day and it wasn’t. Minor issues that aren’t enough to rate this place any less than 5 stars xoxo. Will be staying here again!

This is a lovely property, but is VERY expensive for what you get – not completely up to the standards of 5-star hotels in this price range. Overall, it was great, but there were several things that needed attention. The bed was comfy but the pillows were lumpy. We had a nice sitting area, though the TV was hard to see from the sitting area. It was great to have real glasses and mugs, but then they put cheap disposable plastic cups in the bathroom. There was a rainfall shower head with weak water pressure; the handheld faucet was better, but didn’t have great adjustability and it leaked water out of the shower stall. And there were un-repaired holes in the wall where the shower-head was apparently moved at some point. There was good counter space for toiletries and adequate hooks and bars for towels, and there were lots of towels, which was wonderful, as were the fluffy robes. It was nice to have a mini-microwave and fridge. All of the charging outlets were by the bedside tables – we found none by the desk – a rather poor design. Lampshades were askew and there was no hand towel in the bar area of the room. There was a table and chairs outside of our room on the common hallway – not quite the private balcony we were expecting, but it was OK. Some of the common areas were a little dirty. There is paid parking – at this price? But it was less than the public parking lots. The wine at happy hour was absolutely terrible - almost undrinkable - which was especially annoying given the price of the rooms; they could do way way better for not much more money. The snacks were nice, and were different every day. It was walking distance to everywhere. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was quite nice and stocked with pool towels, sunscreen and bug spray. Another sour note was the tip jars everywhere and multiple emails asking us for public reviews of our stay. Stop already – it’s tacky for a hotel trying to be of a high caliber to do this. It was very nice though, and we enjoyed our stay. We’d probably stay here again if we were to return to Key West, but they need to up their game just a bit to justify the prices they charge.

Dear ItchyFeetBTS, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay with us. We sincerely appreciate your detailed review and want to address each of your concerns. Firstly, we apologize for any issues you encountered during your stay. We strive to provide the best possible experience for all our guests, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations in some areas. Regarding the room issues you mentioned, we want to assure you that any concerns would have been promptly rectified if brought to our attention during your stay. Our management team is always available to address any issues and ensure your comfort and satisfaction. For example, the low water pressure you experienced could have been easily resolved by our head engineer within minutes. Additionally, the disposable plastics in the bathroom are provided for convenience and hygiene purposes, but we do understand your preference for reusable alternatives. We appreciate your feedback on these matters. In regards to the pillows, we regret that they did not meet your expectations. We normally receive glowing reviews of our bedding materials, and we would have been more than happy to provide you with alternative pillows upon request. We also want to clarify the presence of the tip jar. We only place one tip jar out during breakfast and happy hour, and it is entirely optional for guests to contribute. It is not included or forced upon our guests; rather, it is there as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work of our staff. We apologize if this was not communicated clearly during your stay. Regarding the review requests, we apologize if you felt overwhelmed by the communication. We typically send a departure email thanking our guests for their stay and inviting them to leave a review if they wish. We only send one email after you have departed the hotel, and it is meant to express our gratitude for choosing to stay with us. Lastly, we understand that our rates may seem high during peak season, but this is reflective of the demand and availability during such busy periods. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to email me directly at agm@almondtreeinn.com. We would love the opportunity to address any remaining disappointments and ensure your complete satisfaction. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable experience. Warm regards, Rodolfo C Assistant General Manager Almond Tree Inn

We just got back from a short break here and absolutely loved this boutique hotel. The facilities are clean and in good shape, and the rooms are large and comfortable with everything you would expect. However, I’d say what really makes this hotel is the staff. I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed anywhere where the staff are so friendly and welcoming but sincere with it. Literally every single member of the team we came across, from the Manager to housekeeping, were just amazing. A special big shout goes to Cary, who literally loves his job, and loves engaging with the guests. We could have chatted to him for hours; he is a real ambassador for the property. We didn’t drive but parking was plentiful, and the location was perfect just off Duval. I’m not one for staying anywhere twice, but if and when we go back to KW I would definitely choose the Almond Tree Inn.

We had an amazing stay beginning with check-in and Cary offering us a glass of champagne. He then walked us up to our lovely King-Suite on the 2nd floor and provided us with all the info we needed. We loved our suite and also using the table and chairs outside our door. Parking is perfect ($30. Per day) we never had to use our car the 3 days we stayed being able to walk everywhere. Such a convenient location. The property/pool area is lovely- perfect Key West Vibe, we enjoyed their complimentary breakfast buffet every morning by the pool. Also HH in the evening from 5-7pm with snacks and wine/beer. All the staff is amazing and made us feel welcome and at home! We will definitely stay again on our next visit to Key West.

We decided pretty much at the last minute to book a 4 night stay in Key West to get the heck out of Michigan. We knew we were going to pay a premium, so might as well splurge on the #1 rated hotel on Trip Advisor. Not only that, but it was a suite. The initial checkin at the regular looking motel desk had us a little worried, but from the very first contact with the excellent staff we realized this was no ordinary place. The room was large and gorgeous. (We peeked into a standard room, mich smaller but also lovely.) The entire property is immaculate, extremely well maintained. The pool is heated from 7 am to 10 pm. Breakfast offers a very nice variety of everything (except hot eggs and breakfast meats) , including hard boiled eggs, meats and cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, waffles and pastries. Happy hour includes wine and beer (though cocktails are available for purchase) plus a variety of snacks, crudité and other goodies. The location is perfect, at the intersection of Truman and Duval. Make a right on Duval and you’ll be in the middle of the action. Make a left and enjoy the more upscale shops. CVS is right next door. Bike rental on property. Golf cart rental and great little Cuban restaurant right across the street. It was a lovely, comfortable stay during which we felt pampered and relaxed. Special thanks to Danny and Cary Grant (not his last name but that’s what we called him the whole time) for being such great hosts during happy hour.

I couldn’t be more happy with our stay at the Almond Tree Inn. We stayed in a Deluxe King Room and it was perfect. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Check-in was fast and easy. We were provided a map of the area and were offered help making any arrangements we would need. A European continental breakfast is provided daily. It was very good. We’re still thinking about the fresh fruit. Drink coupons are provided for one drink each night at happy hour. The location couldn’t be better. You are a half block of Duvall street making you close to everything but just far enough for peace and quiet. We enjoyed the pool very much. It was so nice sitting by the pool just relaxing in the sun. There were also seats with shade if you prefer. I can’t forget about the staff. Every single one was absolutely amazing. They were all so kind and helpful.
