Because the window was on the beach, we had a piece of beach for ourselves. You can not go in water. Room is clean and also with really nice decoration. Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast is really good and quite big choice for american standards. Hotel is offering a free shuttle for downtown. They have also a known restaurant...

Stone crabcake was delicious as well as fried chicken dinner. Served champagne for the special celebration. Outboard motor decor was a hit with spouse. American coffee was fair, but Cuban coffee con leche hit the spot. Generous but expensive key lime pie finished off the evening celebration.

First trip to Key West - Ibis Bay was a great choice! Very comfortable, quiet room w/patio; grounds and landscaping were pristine; continental breakfast was a good way to start the day; restaurant and bar were not lacking; helpful and friendly staff, on all levels. The shuttle was a bonus! Great job, everyone!

A true updated 50's style place. Very quiet. Parking is a bit tight. If you have a very large SUV or truck, you are going to have a parking problem. Didn't use the pool or beach. Just had a regular room. They are small but are updated nicely. Skip the free continental breakfast. It's not worth it.

Hi, Thanks for your compliments in your review. Not sure why you say skip the breakfast. Our Continental Breakfast includes a fresh fruit selection, yoghurt, sliced meats and cheeses, eggs, all sorts of bread, bagels with jellies and spreads plus your choice of cereals along with teas and coffee. Why skip that. Its definitely worth it and the waterfront location...

The property was as described. Very nice, clean, and the staff was friendly and professional. We loved the cool 1950's decor. The room was musty but that is just being at the beach I guess. It got better after the A/C was on for a few hours. The shuttle into town was a plus....taxi runs about $15.00. The pool is...

Hi Dennis, Our staff are terrific. We have preserved the 1956 buildings because they are the REAL KEY WEST. Most of the hotels here now are cookie-cutter chain places. They're great if you want to feel the same as you did when you stay at any of their places in other places. At Ibis Bay you know you are in...

You basically get what you pay for. The room was small, we did have a mini fridge but no microwave, which would have been nice. The shower is so small that it was difficult for me to shave my legs!! lol The AC was so loud we had to turn it off. Thank goodness that it was cool enough that...

Hi, I see that you chose one of our Value Rooms. They are a greatKey West bargain but they are the smallest rooms we offer. We have all sorts of other rooms that are bigger. Some with private gardens, beachfront patios and hammocks. You can even choose a three bedroom suite with its own BBQ grill and kitchen if you...

When looking for a place to stay on our first visit to Key West I wanted a beach location. Most places were very expensive but I saw the photo of the hammocks on the beach and I booked it. This mid century resort is in New town but had a shuttle to old town. The beach rooms are great. Quiet...

Hi, You are right, we are inexpensive compared to the rest of Key West. We are a family owned historic 1956 resort that was originally a motel with no facilities. The preserved original buildings are made of coral rock dredged from Key West harbor, the pool is fabulous with a great pool-side bar and Sunrise Beach on Sunrise Beach on...

Excellent staff and service. Could not have been nicer or more helpful. A few reviewers complained about the location and lack of amenities. You basically get a bedroom and bath, but hey, I was looking for a cheap, clean place to sleep. Everything close to Duvall St was at least twice the price. This place is spotless, has a great...

Hi, The picket fence and hammock are being installed as we speak. The garden in front of 601 is the second last one to be completed on the property. I will have that a/c checked. Thanks for letting me know. Chris

Very strange place. The idea is to have bright colorful beachfront resort. In fact it's a motel. Car is next to you door. When engines of cars of your neighbors keep working, the smell goes to you room. Breakfast is poor, while it was stated as a big benefit during the reservation that it is Good! During breakfast all nearby...

Hi Yogan, I agree with you about the breakfast table policy. I just changed it. All tables are now open. Thank you for helping me see that needed to be changed. That's why I like Tripadvisor. Guests do show us what we might not have seen.. We are a historic 1956 resort with the latest modern facilities. The original buildings...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ibis Bay is exactly what you dream of when you imagine Key West. It's a friendly, quirky resort with design and colors inspired by 1950s Havana. The landscaped white sand beach leads right up to the beachfront guest rooms, and guests can jump right into the beautiful bay for swimming, snorkeling and take jet skis, kayaks or paddle boards right from our dock! The staff are all Key West locals who love the island and want our guests to enjoy their stay. We have exclusive attractions like our poolside Dive-In Movies every Wednesday night on a 20ft screen by the pool, plus Nightboarding nightime LED-lit paddleboarding and kayaking! Wildlife abounds on our grounds including huge tortoises, lots of large colorful parrots, local iguanas (don't touch!) and our namesake, the very pretty ibis birds. In the mood for some fun? Ask our Fun Desk concierge about our jet ski, scooter and electric car rentals on site plus paddle board, kayaks and kiteboard rentals on the beach. They can also recommend off-site activities, restaurants, tours and local attractions. We have 80 hammocks for lazing about, and an amazing restaurant called The Stoned Crab that has two of its very own fishing boats delivering fresh crab, shrimp, lobster and fish every day!
