This was my first trip to Key West, and Heron House Court help make it a terrific experience. First, I can not say enough about Roman. He was absolute wonderful and went over and beyond during our visit. I initially thought that he was the owner because he made us feel like we were his house guest. He personally assisted us with locating parking. Roman assisted us with our bags from the car to the front desk and then later to our room. Roman also served as our connoisseur during our visit. He called and booked a sunset cruise for us. Each encounter, Roman asked us if he could do anything else for us. Even though the property is older, it was very clean. Housekeeping did not provide room cleaning services during our stay, yet they did provided clean towels which was perfectly fine for us. We plan to return to Key West, and even if Heron House Court doesn't have availability, we will go back to see Roman. He is an absolute jewel.

We booked the suite for a 6 night break. Roman gave us a warm welcome he is such a lovely man. The suite itself is 2 storey downstairs is a living area with a tv and small fridge there is an outside patio area with 2 rocking chairs and the pool area. Upstairs has a sloping roof a large bed , plenty of storage and a bathroom as well as a private outside seating area that is beautiful with a mango tree beside it. The suite itself was not in a great state of repair but we chose to see this as part of Key Wests quirkiness but to some people handles missing, things falling off the wall would not be acceptable. We did not manage to find a safe in the room. Housekeeping comes each day but it is a quick change of towels and empty bins not a full clean up. Breakfast was fine we used it a few times not a great selection but adequate the little bakery along the road opens at 7am and has a great selection.staff were very efficient and friendly except for one ( the lady that did breakfast on several mornings) her attitude speaking to some of the guests was very poor bizarre behaviour no morning smile or greeting to anyone , but apart from her everyone else were excellent. We managed to find a parking space easily. The walk to duval street is about 10 mins. Great value for key west.

We recently stayed at Heron House Court for 3 nights. We picked it because the price was reasonable compared to others in downtown area, was handy to Key West Express docking and close to Duval Street, also it had good ratings. So glad we did! The building built in the early 1900s has the charm of an older building, but amenities and upkeep of a new one. The building has been well loved and cared for. Roman, the desk clerk and man in charge was a big help. He arranged for us to have a golf cart for our use and was available for anything needed. He even made a special trip out one morning on his bicycle to get us bottled water! The continental breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, (although the pillows are past their prime) storage areas adequate, and porch access great. The hotel is away far enough from the party revelers to be quiet and in a very safe area. They have front porch decks on the first and second floor, a sun deck on the back and an area around their heated pool.

Key West is a very expensive place to stop. This place at $300 a night was one of the more reasonable options. We arrived just before 7pm and were checked into an upstairs room looking out on to the patio. Reception is not staffed after 7pm until the morning. Coffee is available in the lobby though it quickly went cold and there was no hot water. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The room was tiny, although the bed was ok and storage space was reasonable. The shower/toilet was on a sliding door that broke very quickly and didn’t shut properly. There was a safe in the wardrobe. No curtains in the room but blinds were available. Didn’t have breakfast the first day but we did the second. Breakfast was poor, a small choice of some muffins, cereals, some fruit salad and yoghurt. They tried to do some kind of hot food, but this was packet and microwave food that was just dry and tasteless. No gluten free options at all, so just a yoghurt and banana. We had been out for a run prior to breakfast so this wasn’t filling.
No soundproofing in the room and we could hear the party downstairs on the patio all night drinking beer and partying way past 2 am.
Didn’t see much in the way of staff, we couldn’t park anywhere near the place due to parking restrictions so we ended up parking two blocks away.
There was a pool which was not heated, didn’t see much else other than beer bottles lying around.
It is located in a beautiful area though. No value for me, you are paying for the convenience of the location. Two nights was enough.

Very outdated and run down. The bed was not comfortable at all. One bedside lamp did not work and the other was bent. The hand towel bar beside the sink was falling off. Bath towels felt like dollar store quality, and hand towels had holes in them. The "Included Breakfast" was cold and not fresh. The pool had leaves floating in it when we arrived and when we left the next day. I guess the old saying "you get what you pay for" applies here (If $375 per night is cheap??) Street parking "if you are lucky". Glad we only stayed one night. Would have given "Zero" starts but the location gets them 1.

We were on our way to the hotel about an hour out. We get a call from Roman that the sink in the king suite we booked had pulled off the wall and we would have to stay at the sister property a few blocks away. We were told that the sister property only had a queen room available the first night and that they could move us to a king suite for the rest of our 4 night stay. We were told for our inconvenience of having to switch properties and have to stay in a cheeper room the first night that we would be compensated with that night free. Upon check out I was told this would be taken care of and that the owner was aware of what had happened, this was 7/15/20. It is now 9/2/20 and I have called multiple times, spoken to Roman and given him my credit card info two different times and left multiple messages, still no refund for just the first night. I mean this is only a one night refund. We paid $678.08 for 4 nights at the Heron House Court, we were told we would get a free night for the inconvenience of staying in a smaller cheeper room at a different hotel, still nothing which is really sad. I visit the Keys multiple times a year and will never return to the hotel! On a side note the Heron House was full of rowdy drinkers hanging by the pool till at 2am. The queen room we had to stay in the first night (should’ve been free night) was right at the pool literally sharing a deck poolside.

We have stayed at Heron House Court several times and although it has continued to show signs of wear and tear, we decided to give it one more try, largely due to the hospitality of Roman. We have always stayed in their suite, which is a two-story large room with a private outdoor space, so we booked the suite again. Roman called to tell us our room was ready, but he had left for the day by the time we arrived. A dour gentleman showed us to the room while we carried all of our luggage. We were incredibly disappointed to find that not only did we get the suite we requested, but that they put us in an inside room with no outdoor space. The room had a sofa next to the bed and a sink in the closet so I guess that’s a “suite.” He made us pay a $30 resort fee at check-in even though there is no such thing as a resort amenity at this property. There were dirty towels and coffee cups left out during our entire stay, the linens and towels are threadbare and mismatched - our towels actually had holes in them. Rooms are quite dirty and showing disrepair. Sunday, no one ever showed up for work, there were no pool towels, no breakfast and no way for people to check out. The beautiful Jacuzzi area on the patio has been filled in with cement even though the website still shows it being there. We were so disappointed and would definitely not stay here again.

Made a reservation in January for a March 25 reservation. Paid full price and got a confirmation. On the Saturday before we were to leave on Tuesday we got a "cannot accept reservation" email from them. Covid went down and spring break was more popular than they thought it would be and so they could get a higher rate. Really dirty operating practice. So if you make a reservation you better get a backup one. These people are really dirty.

Don’t stay at the haron , noisy, broken down, allows drunks which yell outside at the pool from 10 pm to 2 am manager ignores all requests to stop the activity, beds are harder than rocks. bathroom lighting was broken asked for a light built, and our requests were ignored.
I give a rating of minus 10. The breakfast is junk food. The hard boiled eggs ransid , the bread was moldy. At 200.00 a night and no support, from the managers, why would anyone stay here.

This place is horrible! The man at the front desk was rude and didn’t seem to care about anything. Then they did false advertising bc the site that I booked with said nothing about a $20 resort for everyday you are there and when I tried to show him he just kept saying it says it I know it does. I even tried to show him on my phone but he didn’t want to look. And trust me this is not a RESORT! Then the rooms are very old, dirty and a lit of things are broken. After 6pm there is no one there to help you with anything if you need it. On top of all of that the breakfast in the morning is ridiculous! It’s chaotic and the eggs are being cooked by the receptionist behind the front desk! Also there was a window AC in our room that was so loud we couldn’t sleep! And it takes for ever to cool the room off bc they turn it off when you are not in the room. Unbelievable do not go there it was a horrible experience and they just rip you off by charging the $20 resort fee without telling you until you arrive!
