Simonton Court is a magically hidden gem tucked discretely behind Duval St. This was my third time here as a guest and I upgraded to a cottage (I've stayed in both of the 3rd floor rooms in the Mansion which are both charming with enough room and amazing views of their own).

Upon our early arrival, we were able to store our luggage on site and go grab lunch while we waited for room to become available. Check-in was a breeze and we were showed the tropical, luscious grounds via the footpath before we entered our cottage. I was completely blown away how charming and comfortable the cottage is CO-3. There is a living room, small "kitchen", a queen bed in the loft area and a queen bed in the first floor bedroom. My only con, is the room is tiny to navigate walking around. We are active adults and even found it difficult to walk around the bed. As someone whose parents have mobility issues, I would not suggest this cottage due to the limited room to walk around. I'm not sure if the bed can be moved to a different location to make the foot path easier to navigate? That would be my only "complaint". Everything else with the cottage was perfect.

Well, I guess the magic of Simonton charmed my boyfriend as he proposed our first night on our cottage front porch!

Simonton serves a upon request breakfast. You receive a menu to make your selections and staff will bring your order TO you, either if you are by the pool, relaxing on the veranda outside the breakfast serving area or to your room. There is plenty of items to choose from and I've read some complaints on the breakfast. I have stayed at other BnB's over the past 14 years since my first visit back in 2008 (where I stayed at Simonton to celebrate 30th birthday) and Simonton's location, amenities, service, the enchanting gardens and atmosphere and superb.

I always recommend Simonton when asked where to stay. I actually book my stays upon their availability! My now fiancé are looking forward to trip 08/18-08/24/2022. We booked in the Mansion again, this time in MA-1, so I will write a follow up review on that room :)

My husband and I plus another couple booked 2 nights at this Inn and were delighted with the rooms and the location. We both had a king room with a large deck overlooking the “Black” pool. The room was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable and the deck was an added bonus.
Breakfast was served beside the main pool (there are 4) and was fresh, plentiful and delicious.
The gardens are just beautiful and well maintained, and the parking is adjacent to the hotel. I highly recommend reserving a space for $25 per night as the street parking is limited.
The staff were delightful, friendly and helpful at all times, including the lady at the front desk, the lady serving breakfast and our housekeeper Jamileta.
The location is walking distance to all the restaurants on Duval Street, as well as the harbor and the Southernmost point ( that’s about a 20-30 minute walk). It is however far enough away from the bar activity late at night. I look forward to returning to Key West and would definitely stay at the Inn again.

I have only one suggestion and that is to replace the light on the deck as it was very dark ( although one could see the stars and moon!).

As guests at Simonton since 2016, we only have kind words.
As always, each time is memorable.
We have experienced all the mansion rooms with MA-1 being our favorite room. The porch really makes us feel at home.
The Mansion is a beautiful dwelling and stands majestically by the breakfast bar and the main pool-our favorite of the four pools.
Despite all the caution and concern amidst Covid-19, the Simonton team did a superb job balancing guest/staff safety while ensuring we had another memorable vacation.
Steven is a fantastic leader, Paula worked tirelessly through what I'm sure was a chaotic week. Jean at the breakfast bar was a pleasure and Consuelo made sure we had all the necessities a guest would want kept fresh in their room.
Always a pleasure to see Mama and Alvin too!
Be safe and we look forward to our next visit at Simonton Court!

Great location and interesting property. There are a range of rooms, each having different amenities, layouts and such. If you are a first timer to the facility, make certain you know exactly which room you will be in. We were provided a two story accommodation, the bedroom in attic space and the other facilities on the main floor, requiring several steps to enter. We were not advised of the layout and we were terrified at the thought of sleeping in such arrangements. Upon seeing the room, I asked for a room change and was told there was nothing that they could do. Fortunately, after the first night the front desk rearranged reservations so that we moved into more amenable surroundings.
Continental breakfast was adequate. Service was acceptable. Facility could use an upgrade as could the rooms.
It would be most suited for young couples who are looking for a convenient location, nice individual pools or pool area.

Our flight was canceled due to freezing rain so we arrived there two days late. The manager was kind enough to only charge us for one of the two nights.

We were told on arrival that we were being upgraded to a better room. After spending several days of traveling we didn’t question them and thought that was great.
After spending a night there we felt squeamish from the musty smell.
We were in Room TH4 which is located in the very back of the building on a curvy path. There was mold in places, and the gyprock was damaged in back of the pillows on the bed. The online pictures of this room are very deceiving!!!!
Although this room cost more because it has two bathrooms and a small kitchen we would have preferred the room we booked.

The breakfast served each morning was delicious and the service was amazing.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Not their fault that this room has a disgusting smell.

The hotel has a lot of character with old southern charm. Cottages have front porches with rocking chairs. Some have porch swings. They light small lanterns on your porch every night. Tropical landscaping all around. There are 4 pools. Some are right outside your cottage door. They have pool towels in basket at every pool. We really liked this resort, however, it needs some TLC.
Our bathrooms had no counter space and no shelves, etc. to store our toiletries. We had a hard time regulating our air conditioner in cottage. There was a thermostat for living area and loft bedroom, but wall unit in main bedroom blowing on us all night.
The 1 ice machine for the entire resort was broken the last 3 days of our stay.
They still use regular keys and will charge you $150 for any lost keys.
Make sure you put the "Service Please" sign on your door or they come at 2:00 and tell you they stop cleaning at 2:00.
Breakfast is included and it is VERY good. The waffles with berries are fabulous.
The location of the hotel is walking distance to almost everything.

After MUCH research and discussion we chose Simonton Court for our stay in Key West. It was a big decision for us because we don't typically splurge on our hotels. However, we are very happy we did. This hotel offers so very much to their guests and the location is perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Our room had a balcony on the street which was fun to sit on and people watch. The room itself was beautiful and very comfortable. The building we were in was very old but very well kept so it was full of old Key West charm. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped and the pools are very inviting. I loved coming back in the evening to all of the ambiance provided by the lanterns around the property. My only advice for future visitors would be to ask for a ground level room if climbing stairs is an issue. Other than that, there are no negatives to this amazing hotel!

We stayed at the Simonton Court for 8 nights over Christmas and New Years and can’t say enough about how wonderful it was. All of the staff were so friendly. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. Our room was spotless and kept clean and stocked with towels everyday. The location can’t be beat - you are within walking distance of everything and don’t need a car. We made our reservations for next year before we left!

My husband of 30+ years and I had the best vacation of our lives recently in Key West. We have been several times but this was our first visit to Simonton Court. Every single staff member was kind and thoughtful to our needs and asked each day what they could help with. The pools were open 24 hrs which is a welcome refreshment at the end of a hot evening on Duval. The location could not be more convenient to all our favorite locations. Breakfast was so delightful and delicious. Rooms are offered in a variety of configurations to suit your needs and are all well appointed as well as swiftly freshened each morning. Indulge yourself in this jungle like paradise and you will be so thankful you did!

We love the keys and come every summer.
We were obviously nervous about the virus but anxious to see the keys and get out on the water.
Simonton Court was immaculate. Masks worn by all staff. For breakfast you call in your order and it is delivered to your cottage/room. We elected not to have daily housekeeping which was a choice they offered. Fresh towels provided daily to our porch along with a canvas bag for our soiled linens. Beth at the front desk upgraded our room when she found out we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and was a wealth of knowledge about the Keys. The grounds are beautiful with lots of orchids. Loved sitting on the porch and enjoying coffee in the mornings and other refreshments in the evening.
