Amara Cay was a great place to stay. It was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, with a small oceanfront beach area. Besides a pool they provided other outdoor activities like ping pong, giant chess and crochet. Very family friendly place. Food was good but I would pass on the fried key lime pie.

The best part about our stay at Amara Cay was the king ocean view suite. The two rooms were big and comfortable with a nice balcony with a beautiful view. Other than that though the service was spotty. The first day we had trouble getting our room cleaned and on the second day housekeeping arrived way too early. There were...

I just got back from visiting Amara Cay Resort in Islamorada. It was a wonderful stay but there were some highs and lows to staying at Amara. When my family booked the stay we got the king bedroom suite. It was a nice modern looking room (not dirty) but had no balcony in the master bedroom wish my family also...

The pool is beautiful and there were plenty of lounge chairs at the pool and beach area. However, they were always out of clean towels at the pool, which I found annoying seeing that they charge a $28/day resort fee...not sure what I was paying for. I don't think you really get anything for the resort fee--they should just call...

Really relaxing place. Stayed here last year too & nice update with the new pool. Although there is a Keurig in the room, it's not the same as getting a fresh cup of coffee or hot tea, as many hotels offer complimentary. Charging Starbuck prices for coffee or tea just seems lame; except for that pet peeve, really like the...

Expected for the rate, that we were getting a luxurious room. Nothing Luxurious about it. Tremendously over priced! I don't mind paying for a great room, this one was a complete letdown. . Would never go back.

We stayed for two nights at the Amara Cay in April. The rooms were renovated but it's like they didn't finish the small details. We found the main room dark, there wasn't enough light. The bathroom was also dark and they need to change out the metal tissue holder and soap dish because they were becoming pitted. The finish was...

If you are in Islemorada to go fishing and are not looking for high end accommodations, this hotel may be just what you are looking for. We stayed at the Checca Lodge on our first trip to Islemorada many years ago and we got a special deal so on this trip our budget put us at Amara Cay. While the...

We enjoyed absolutely everything about this resort. The room was spacious and bright with a view of the ocean to wake us each morning, and the bedding and pillows were comfortable. The resort is clean and we found it to be very quiet yet still a fun vibe for couples or families. On the property you can sit at the...
