Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club Marathon, a Curio Collection by Hilton, garners praise for its comfortable, modern rooms and well-kept grounds, featuring multiple warm pools, a spa, and a fitness center. Guests appreciate the hotel's cleanliness and stunning location, convenient for exploring nearby attractions. However, opinions on service are divided, with some applauding the staff's attentiveness and others lamenting inefficiencies.

We arrived confused and tired from a long road trip and entered the spa entrance, thinking it was the main entrance for check-in. The spa attendant, Cira, assisted us immediately, offered us refreshing and delicious healthy water, and guided us precisely through the check-in process. She kindly and sweetly explained the hotel facilities to us. We stayed for a week, and the experience was wonderful in the Florida Keys. The hotel was very clean, and everything was renovated. The gym was 100/10. The city of Marathon is very peaceful and safe. We truly loved it.

WOW!!! This renovated property in Marathon is amazing as a Hilton Curio and 100 % worth a visit. The rooms are modern, clean and luxurious. The new lobby and restaurant area could not be prettier! The food at the restaurant was delicious and so was the service of the very friendly staff. The view from pool area overlooking the lighthouse are beautiful. New gym and upcoming spa are great addition.

I would love to be able to give this hotel a great review as it was a great location. But there were issues that indicated poor management that made the visit a bit challenging. Mainly, one elevator was broken without signage the entire stay and water in the shower was lukewarm at best, making for rushed, unpleasant showers. Also, there is not a microwave provided in the room and their private butler was extremely expensive. there was also no silverware if you wanted to bring food back to the room.
The grounds were very nice, and the pools were pleasant and not crowded. There are plenty of places to eat within walking or very short driving distance. If you enjoy running or walking, there is a path from the hotel that went right to the 7 mile bridge which was great.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we found the minor inconveniences annoying. I would recommend microwaves in each room, and a little more closet space for hanging clothes. If we went back, we would likely stay somewhere else in the area.

This was our 4th and last visit. The place was bought by Hilton and they splashed new decor around but the same infrastructure is there, like the molding smelling, inefficient HVACS in the bedrooms and the hallways. Where one used to walk in to the lobby (where all of the parking is) has now been converted to a "spa" which isn't open yet and there is no one there to greet you except an occassional housekeeping staff with a mop bucket cleaning the floors. The staff is friendly even though most didn't speak English. They used to have a wonderful included breakfast off of this lobby where you could self serve anything from fresh fruit to waffles. Now, it's no longer included and you have to walk to the "new lobby" which is in a whole 'nother building AND it's waitstaff served in their restaurant. There is a coffee bar like a Starbucks with prepackaged things that I'm sure they can heat up right next to the check in desk. They talk about 4 pools but 2 of them are on a different property that you have to walk throught a parking lot to get to. Of the two pools on this property- one is between the restaurant/bar and the marina and the other is in the center of the U-shaped building so there's lots of shade but no breeze. They used to have large icewaters dispenser with cups but no longer, so if you want a drink you have to wait for the nary to be found waitress or go wait for the overworked bartender to recognize you need to place an drink order and you know they don't like it when you ask for water. Two of the days there were screaming kids and the bar pool and that's on the parents. Yet, there was no hotel staff monitoring the pool and it's basic "rules" like no running, no glass, no outside food (there were coolers brought in), and no diapers should ever be allowed in the pool. They should designate one a baby pool and it shouldn't be the one near the bar. Our room as pretty as it was still had the old HVAC. When I walked in the room, the smell hit me in the face. I didn't even want to unpack as I recalled that smell from last year. I was assured that with the reno it would be all new and fresh yet- it wasn't. Housekeeping manager came in to ask if I wanted to change rooms since I thought this one smelled and she walking around spraying the fabrics (duvet, rug, sofa) with some unmarked spray bottle....but all rooms are going to smell since they're still using the same AC units so it wasn't worth it. The temp was set on 68* when we got there and that's too cold for me but when I changed it to 70* the smell was too strong and we lowered it again and alternated between using the comforter and being too hot to no comforter and being too cold. The pillows were nice and fluffy. For all of these "great improvements" we paid a much higher room rate than in the past. For just a little more $ and a newer property with a lot more perks I'll stay at Tranquility Bay or Isla Bella next year. No- I didn't complain to managment at the time since there was nothing that they would be able to do about it except give me money back and that's wasn't my goal. I am sad that the "improvements" make it less desirable to be there.

I cannot believe I redeemed 80K points per night to stay at this "Resort". Where to begin? 1. How about the inability to get a hold of anyone? I tried calling the operator, front desk, you name it from my room, and nobody ever answered.
2. Room issues...The reason I had to keep calling is because my air conditioning wasn't working and my hot water wasn't working. I also went up to the front desk at least 3 times to ask them to send someone to assist and nobody ever came.
3. I had to request cleaning for my room even though I didn't have the do not disturb sign on. I also relayed this to the front desk, but ended up having to find the cleaning ladies every morning to ask them to clean my room. When they did, they did not take my towels that were on the floor and instead hung them back up, they did not leave toilet paper or replace the tissues even though both were clearly at the end.
4. Food: The restaurant food that I had except for on NYE was terrible, including their bread pudding dessert which was rock hard when I got it. I also woke up the next day sick with some sort of stomach bug that I can only relate to what I ate the night before at the restaurant.
5. I was told by the HILTON desk when booking this reservation that all fees were included, but I was hit with room taxes and resort fees. What on earth were the resort fees for anyway? There is literally NOTHING at this resort, and if there was, not one person gave me a pamphlet, or even told me about what was included in the resort fee. But I digress...I tried reaching the hotel multiple times after I left to review the charges on my bill and again, nobody answered! You call Hilton direct and they say to call the resort, but since that's not working, I had to resort to writing a review, which I would have never done, even through overall this place was NOT worth the money. I could have redeemed points for a lot less down the road at the Hampton Inn and likely would have received better service.
All in all, I'm grateful I had things planned ever day, otherwise I would be using the one towel they provided in the one heated pool and ordered DoorDash for meals, which I would have done, except I needed to use the food and beverage credits.
TERRIBLE experience...I should have booked at the sister property which is a Marriott hotel, but thought this hotel was a little more upscale.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are deeply disappointed to learn about the challenges you faced during your stay, from the lack of responsiveness to the room and dining issues you described. This is far from the level of service and comfort we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the frustrations you encountered. The concerns regarding the air conditioning, housekeeping, and miscommunication about fees are especially troubling, and we take them very seriously. We value your feedback and will be addressing these matters with our team to ensure improvements are made. My favorite Hotel in the Keys We received a warm welcome from the girl at the spa’s front desk with a delicious cucumber and mint water that the kids loved. The rooms were comfortable, very clean, and well-stocked. The restaurant menu was somewhat limited; I would have liked more variety. The pool and gym were a hit! We’ll be back soon!

I loved this hotel! This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy good moments with our loved ones. I went with my boyfriend and we had a very good experience. The hotel has an excellent location and we loved its pools, the one we liked the most was the one from the Spa because it was more quiet. We enjoyed a lot the Fitness Center too. Since we arrived at this hotel, Cira, the girl who works at the Spa, explained to us how to get to the lobby, offered us fresh water, and was very kind to us. We’ll definitely repeat this experience!

This resort has a lot of potential and despite its small size, I find it to be charming. Rooms feature incredibly comfortable beds, modern showers with luxurious amenities, and fantastic overall decor with impeccable attention to detail. On the negative side, the staff is poorly trained... they don't seem to understand the differences between room types, take very long times to answer basic questions about your reservation, and the restaurant staff in particular need drastically better training from the chefs to the servers (imagine being delivered an omelette with nothing else on the plate, not even a small garnish, and having to remind your servers at least four times to bring you water). Management should really consider hiring luxury consultants to train the hotel's staff as they are clueless when it comes to delivering acceptable levels of customer service, let alone high quality service. Also, the hotel is clearly still undergoing construction and this should be better communicated to the guests.

I am right now staying in your hotel. It is a very disappointing experience so far. I booked through booking.com a room with breakfast included. So far it was pretty bad, waiting for 40 minutes to start, a half of the things on the menu was not available, etc. It’s also very irritating and annoying that even I booked 1 King Room with Sofa Bed - Non-Smoking 7.50% Tax is included. US$45 resort fee per night is included. 5% tourist tax is included. Your hotel still each night withholds again all taxes + resort fees. As I understood it will take some time before I will get my money back. This is very disappointing experience for me and gives me a lot of stress. I will never again come back here or book through booking.com

I spent a luxurious day at the resort. There are two clean and warm pools with plenty of space to lounge and towels at each spot. You can order food and drink to be delivered to your spot. I enjoyed both pools and it’s nice to have choices based on what surroundings you want (one is closer to rooms and one is by the restaurant/bar). The grounds are beautifully kept and there are places to chill in the shade (or sun) all throughout the grounds. I ate at happy hour and had delicious shrimp tacos that were fairly priced (and there were three!). My drink was delicious and I even enjoyed it in the pool. The staff were lovely. They are opening a beautiful spa soon so I can’t wait to return and enjoy it. Highly recommend this resort.
