The location is fine, its a very large resort. You must be prepared that since this place is near Disney there are a LOT of children and teens, and a lot of them are not well behaved. We went to just relax and get away but we failed to really do a lot of research, The rooms are quite dated, our room says it sleeps four but there was not enough utensils/plates and cups to serve for people at the same time, there was one pot one pan one coffee maker . There was no room service the entire seven days that we were there, thank goodness there was a washer and dryer in the room this way we were able to wash our towels and wash cloths. The kitchen cabinets were hard to open because they got stuck against the ceiling, one of the TV remotes did not work, there were food stains down the side of the refrigerator, the stove was filthy, the drain with a garbage disposal is located had gnats coming out of it, probably one of the most annoying things was the Wi-Fi signal was absolutely terrible if you logged in you literally blocked yourself from getting on the Internet. The on-site waterpark was a joke they literally oversold the waterpark so there was no place for you to sit unless you wanted to sit on scorching pavement also at the pool do avoid the soda machines, a 20 ounce bottle of soda is four dollars and there is no price posted on any of the machines, could not adjust the temperature on the refrigerator because the knob was broken so most of my food and vegetables were frozen and unusable. When you use the ice from the icemaker in a glass of water stir it around for a few minutes and watch all of the little white particles/minerals or whatever it is looks like dissolved toilet tissue start to appear. When it rained the water would come under our door and we were on an upper level we had to use towels to try to keep the rain out, and after it rained you couldn't use the in room telephone because the rain apparently shorts out the telephone trunk somewhere and all you get is loud static. There was garbage on the floor of the elevator the entire time of our stay. I think this place could be really good if the cleaning crew paid better attention to little things, it was obvious that our room was swept but definitely not mopped and if you're going to have white appliances you absolutely must clean them, the dirty handprints were kind of creepy. I'll say is that I know that most people had a bad Internet connection because they were always standing outside their room next to my room on the phone talking loud smoking cigarettes or weed which gets old very quickly. I would say Security did a pretty good job and they were usually very friendly and very helpful. Last I would say avoid the guy in the lobby trying to get you on a tour and in exchange you'll get some type of discount to the waterpark, which is always way to full. Not to mention it's not really a waterpark they have a couple of slides and an area where the water rains down on you, it's really for young kids. -*--…
The service of the employees was completely unprofessional and rude. When my boyfriend and I arrived we did not have any connection or service, which we needed as we needed to make reservations for disney. We had called to find a solution, but the only thing they could do for us was to put us through to IT. After three hours of being on the phone and being hung up on we still were not able to get internet connection. During this trip we had also asked the front desk for extra sheets and were told they would come at “some point” in the next few hours. We did not receive any sheets, instead just a blanket. The second time we called and asked for more sheets it never came. Then the third time we called the front desk and asked if we would be able to pick them up there, they said no because only housecleaning has them. My boyfriend ultimately went to the front desk to ask for sheets and they miraculously had them. It should also be noted that we saw roaches crawling on the outside of the building. …
1 dead and 1 alive roach in room. Wifi didn’t work as it needed to for work or fun. Air conditioner needed fixing 3 times and dryer once. A high maintenance vacation. I called for help and was offered pest control. But we had a baby with us and did not want to be exposed to pest control solutions.
Where shall I begin?...It started upon check-in with pure chaos and over half an our wait to get processed and continued downhill from there. 1. Our first room appeared to be in a dark, solitary area and was more of a motel than a resort. The smell was strong/odd- like an attempt to hide the smell of mold that failed miserably. Additionally, there was something sticking out from under the couch- but I didn't stay long enough to figure out what it was. 2. Returned to front desk, and after a lengthy discussion with my husband frustrated and me pleading our case of discomfort at the area we had been assigned (for which we were told would be very different than what we were assigned upon booking) We were finally moved to the 'resort' area. 3. Relieved to get into a room that was more like what we'd expected- we initially had more comfort. But it wasn't long before we noticed there were people out in the halls and just kind of hanging out fraternizing. Not what you'd expect outside your door, but ok...I would not be letting my teens leave the room for anything. 4. After going to dinner and returning, it was finally time for bed. Yes- a nice bath in the jacuzzi tub...NOT! First I had to clean the hair out of the tub and second I bruised my leg getting in and out of it because there are no steps and it is basically a danger zone. After hurting my leg (see pic- and my daughter hurt hers as well)- we noticed that on the opposite side of the massive jacuzzi there was a small, upside down sticker with directions for how to get in and out of the sub. (Too little, too late...You can't even see the sticker until you get to the other side of the tub and must climb in to do so!) Also, one of the towels had dark marks on it which, of course, is disgusting! 5. Now we're all exhausted and trying to overlook all of the 'mishaps' that Westgate had to offer thus far- but when my kids go to pull out the sofa bed, we learn there are no sheets or pillows in the room for that bed. We immediately call housekeeping and are promptly told that they are out of pillows. YES- A HUGE RESORT OUT OF PILLOWS!!!! She tells us we can be creative and stuff extra sheets into pillowcases and she will send extra (in 45 minutes). I even offer to go and pick them up from housekeeping and am told that is not an option, but I'll just have to wait (even though it's after midnight. Not rude- but in no way apologetic for this ridiculousness. 6. Next morning- ready to head to the water park- learned we had to pay. But reality is that even if it were free, we wouldn't have gone. The pools and waterpark were extremely crowded and dirty. I had the nerve to get a big excited when I head that live music was at one of their many pools, but when we arrived we were met by a guest with a huge speaker who blasted his music within close proximity of the musician so it drowned out the sound. Chaos, and overcrowded at this pool as well! 7. Finally, making it through another night- we were relieved to check out the next day and get as far away from Westgate as possible. SO YES- I wrote an essay because I only live an hour away from Orlando and would NEVER want a family that travels all the way to this area for a great vacation where they can make new, great memories to fall prey to this resort (I also don't want anyone who lives nearby to suffer). Ignore their advertised photos and learn from our experience- DO NOT STAY AT THIS DIRTY, UNSAFE, SUSPECT RESORT (or should I say time-share driven motel)!!!…
Facility is excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Local Walmart is insanely busy as are the highways around Disney. We will go back! Check in in the middle of the night was super. Many employees to assist.
The Fitness Center to me is the star of the property. The first thing that I do when I come to the property is to look at the activities calendar and schedule my vacation around the classes taught by Bee Bee. Bee Bee's fitness knowledge and the ability to motivate everyone to wellness is awesome. While on the property this week, my family and I have taken the Yoga, Pilates and Spin classes. We especially love that the staff takes the time to ensure that the materials used in the classes are disinfected to ensure our safety. I wish my local gym was as efficient as this group. I look forward to visiting the property another time this year and will take all the fitness classes! I encourage you, if this is your first time to the property make the time to take the fitness classes, it will be the best thing you could do for yourself and your well being.…
Our party of eight checked in at 11:30 p.m. with a check in closing time of midnight. We were given a map, parking passes and keys to the room. The welcome package was obtained by us three days later to show us all the activities around this establishment. The unit had an extremely spacious kitchen/dining/living room area and two bedrooms. One with a king size bed and one with two full-size beds. Not enough space for eight to sleep comfortably. We were lucky to think to bring an air mattress. There were two full glass-enclosed bathing areas and a sleeper-sofa couch and a minimally stocked kitchen for an extended stay. We did not have a coffe maker when we arrived and after calling daily for three days to be told there were no more coffee makers, we talked to a maintenance man and asked him if he could find us one and within the hour we had a Mr. Coffeemaker delivered. After a rain, we were preparing for bed when we found a wall lined with dead worms. We called maintenance and they were here within the hour to clean up and spray. Paul was amazing and very friendly and professional. There was no broom, only a mop. When we called maintenance, they were on it. …
I am a Westgate owner (homebsse Vegas) of a 2 bedroom deluxe that has been paid for for ten years. My sister used our family and friends to pay to stay. Upon her arrival, she had to wait for her room her accommodations. Clearly she was not waiting for it to be cleaned. The bathroom toilet was laced with urine and feces. The floor in the living room area was sticky and dirty. The rug in the common area was tethered, dusty and dirty. Upon lodging a compliant with the front desk, the resort had no record of the first complaint. Upon reaching a resort manager, no one showed up for over an hour. As the owner, I called and was “disconnected” twice. I was told by Ariana (a resort manager) that I would receive a call back. 4 hours later, no call. The street to the resort villa was under construction so there was no access via a vehicle thus they had to walk with their luggage. Great way to begin a vacation, do not book or stay, customer service is horrible and I am already in touch with legal!…
Jose Docampos attended us at the sports bar and was very friendly and overall a good bartender, 100% recommend him if you want to have a great time! We will definitely be coming back to the bar for this great service !
I literally NEVER leave reviews but I feel this needs one! This was one of the worst stays we have ever had, and we have stayed a lot of places. I am a loyalty member and extremely disappointed. We had issues since we stepped in that room. The smell of the room was almost unbearable and made me and my children sick. My child wanted to go home immediately and she is 3. I found a bug on my bed immediately and, although the man who came to check the bug was nice and said it was not a bug to be concerned about, I was never offered a new room or any kind of refund for the inconvenience. Housekeeping was not available. A representative, when I called to ask about housekeeping taking forever, was rude. Our floor was wet by the bedroom door where I had my 7 month old sleeping in her pack’n’play and no one spilled anything. I looked closer and found that whole area was seriously damp and there was mold all over the floor. The kids woke up coughing and stuffy every morning after sleeping in that room. I took pictures to send to Westgate Resorts management (included in this review) but didn’t even call the front because I knew I would get the run around. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. Hopefully Westgate Resorts can figure something out to fix these issues, so that future guests won’t have these complaints/issues. I will not be recommending your resort to anyone and will be writing more reviews for people who want a place who cares about them having a good stay on their vacation!…
