I stayed at Silver Lake Resort for two weeks in a 3 bedroom unit. First issue, the Front Desk at check in were horrible to us, very rude and told us WE HAD TO WAIT FOR ROOM AS IT WAS NOT READY. Second, after check in they send you over to some crazy men who tried to get us to change from RCI to THEIR NEW EXCHANGE COMPANY. Very rude, would not let us get a word in edgewise. They were persistant in telling us their exchange was SO MUCH BETTER than RCI. I told them we are remaining with RCI as we were happy with them. It took over two hours to get away from these people. Lastly, on our final night in this hellhole during the night a heavy picture fell off the wall onto the bed where my granddaughter and her other grandmother was sleeping..Luckily that night my granddaughter slept with her parents in their bed, but the picture just missed hitting her grandmother in the head. This place could have caused a DEATH ON OUR VACATION. I saw that the picture was not hung up correctly and I contacted the front desk and they said a manager would be calling me. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. I called them and could NEVER SPEAK TO ANYONE AS THEY DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY AT THIS DEATHTRAP.…
Resort is well maintained, and close to many attractions in the Disney/ Universal studios etc. area. Unit was fairly clean other than the Carpet/ floor could have been better vacuumed. Would give a higher overall score but have a big complaint over the noise from the garden sprinklers which came on at 6:15 in the morning, the water banging on the windows. Requested the resort staff deal with this, setting the timer for an hour later. They said they fixed it. Didn't, they dealt with the water hitting the windows (mostly - still was a low level of window noise) but the timing was still 6:15 am. Called again, no improvement. Woken up too early for a vacation!!
Ok the staff is trying but you can hear everything. The "hotel" room is a timeshare 1BR lockout and not recommended because you hear everything from the 1 bedroom through the access door. It has a microwave and mini fridge and dishes but no chair in the room no table so you need to eat on the balcony, bed or toilet lol. The management/ownership of this changed recently I was told...Front desk Management on property tried to help.accodate but the building is just very noisy. Some hotels have things they can put between the doors to damper the noise bit I do not think they have them here no one suggested it. When you book a hotel room you think all the rooms are hotel room.. not the case here. I would suggest they get those dampers... The kids seem to having fun here so many may not care about the intra room noise and noise from above. Location is great..So for many probably good just not for me.…
The 2 BR was huge! The pool is heated and also huge! Every park except Universal is within 10-15 minutes away and the hotel is off a nice strip that has all the restaurants, bars, gas stations and grocery stores you could want. The staff was very nice and I highly recommend this resort.
I book this through RCI and was very pleased. I opt for 3 bed room unit, but people started dropping out of the trip for various reason and I couldn't down size so my daughter and 2 great granddaughters and myself had lots of room. The units have connecting doors we just left them open. The larger unit was large enough to park two mobility scooters in which we charged each night. The outside grounds was emaculante. The staff was so nice, friendly and pleasant to work with. On our rest day Thursday from hitting the Disney parks Monday through Wednesday before traveling back to Virginia the girls got to enjoy the pool. I like where the resort is located. Plenty of places to eat if you don't want to cook, CVS was down the street and of course good old Wal-Mart. I would definitely recommend this resort to other family and friends.👍…
I was celebrating my birthday at The Silver Lake Resort in Orlando Florida and it turned out to be one of the worst vacation places I’ve ever been to. My room was infested with ants and when I advised the front desk, she has an attitude with me as if I create the problem. I asked for a manager and was told the manager was not on site and the only thing they could do was send up the exterminator. I must have killed 30 plus ants while at The Silver Lake Resort and continued to see ants each day, it was one of the worst experience I’ve ever had, I could not sleep because I was constantly looking for ants, afraid they would be in the bed or get into my luggage, my stay at Silver Lake Resort was horrible.
A business trip. 1700 building. Didn’t pay to go to Disney parks. But Animal Kingdom is almost walking distance. Spacious, comfortable, well maintained unit. Incredible pool, with ample chaise lounge chairs - never an issue getting a chair. Good elevators and ample luggage valet carts. Sherberth Rd entrance is on a bad blind curve - be careful. Black Lake Rd entrance much safer. RCI exchange
They over booked the rooms at this Resort and when we arrived there was only one/ 2-bedroom unit available and we reserved and paid for three / 2-bedroom units. We had our entire family with us and needed the 2-bedroom units to accommodate all 15 of us. It took them hours to finally give us one-bedroom units to accommodate all of us. We were not the only disappointed guests there. It seems there were many families that did not get the units they paid for.
Silver Lakes Resort was very well maintained from the grounds to the buildings and to our unit. There was security at the resort which we appreciated. Our 3 bedroom lock-off unit was very large with 3 king beds and bathrooms. The unit was spotless and well kept even though some of the furniture was nicked and scratched. We were there for a special event and stayed a week, Having a washer/dryer was a big plus. We used all the pools and ordered food from the poolside take out one evening. The service was very slow because not enough servers/bartenders were available. There was one person trying to make drinks and deliver food to the outside tables. That would be our only complaint.
Silver Lake resort is ok. We are a family of 4 and came for the timeshare presentation. When we checked into our room we noticed that ants were making their way along the wall, to the dishwasher and up through a crack in the celling. We called the first night, they said they would do something the next day when we were in our timeshare meeting. During the sales pitch the man said, “I would never let my family stay here, we would use our points at a Hilton.” So that was an immediate red flag. We mentioned to them about the ants and broken window blind (not a big deal- we just didn’t want to get charged) the man promised they would work on fixing it. We got back to our room and still had ants. My husband went to talk to the front desk- they promised they would send someone for pest control. We went to enjoy the day, came back around 5 PM- ants still everywhere. My husband was furious and went and again was told that the manager was not there and they would send someone… finally that night someone came with pest spray and sprayed the kitchen. The rest of the hotel was nice, the room was clean, the bed was nice, kids loved the pool… but next time we will probably stay in a hotel instead.…
