My husband and I recently spent 4 nights at Parmer's and had a wonderful time. The website and online booking tool was easy to use. We arrived to a very friendly and helpful clerk at the front desk. She gave us all the info we needed and we were off to our room.

The grounds are well kept and have plenty of amenities if you choose to use them. We are pretty much out all day and only use our room for sleeping, so don't require anything fancy or entertaining. Pool, dock, and beach areas were all clean. We did enjoy the few chairs by the water to sit and look out in the evenings. The location of the resort is so quiet and peaceful. We love to be on the water.

We chose the very basic room as it suited our needs. These units only have a fridge and coffee machine, but we didn't need anything more. The unit was VERY CLEAN which is pretty much all we need. The TV had plenty of channels for the time we used it and the cooling unit worked well. Water pressure in the shower was excellent and there is tons of hot water. It was very quiet at night and we slept very well.

We had breakfast each AM in the dining area. They offer lots of bread/bagels/muffins, cereal, fresh cut fruit, oatmeal packs, peanut butter, cream cheese, and yogurts. Also coffee, tea, juice, and milk are available. This was plenty enough to get us going. My only complaint would be the hot water for tea has been shared with the coffee unit, so the water tasted a bit like coffee. We also enjoyed the cookies available in the afternoon.

We did use the washer/dryer. They sell soap in the main lobby, so no need to bring your own. I tried to use the computer to print our boarding passes, but Delta site wouldn't load. Not sure if internet was down or just very slow, but it really wasn't a problem.

We are planning to return to this area again in the future to do some additional exploring and will definitely choose Parmer's. The location is so perfect: Close enough to Key West (but not too close) and easy to get around the middle keys.

My only suggestion is that every room should have a closet safe no matter what the class of room is.

Thank you.

Thank you so much Snorkeler-6 for sharing your experience with our future Parmer's Most Valuable Guests or MVG's we like to call them. We're not fancy and that's what makes our guests return. We're unpologetically vintage keys but as you mentioned we do our very best to keep it clean and relaxing. We can't wait to see you again on your next trip down to the Keys. Stay warm! We were at Parmers for my brother in Laws 50th with several other couples. We brought three boats and there was plenty of parking for all and the cost was very good for that. My brother in law had the Pelican cottage which is two bedrooms and two bathrooms that are directly waterfront with a wonderful wrap around porch. Full Kitchen and it was the place we all hung out. We had a waterfront unit also and it was a one bedroom suite again with a full kitchen and far enough away to get sometime to ourselves. This place is so convenient and about 1/2 hour from Key west so if you want to get away from the business of the Key West it is close enough.
The weekend we were there the weather was really lousy so we only enjoyed our boats a few times.
This place is definitely a Keys type of place and could use some TLC in the units we were all staying in. The cottages where okay inside but the location is really wonderful. Because we did have so much rain if flooded in front of our cottage and we had to wade through water to get in and out. The unit next to us had front and back entrance so they had access to their unit. The Pelican cottage was also flooded around the stairs and made it really hard to use the front stairs.
This place had a nice continental breakfast that we enjoyed every morning we were there. The staff was very nice and friendly. The apologized for the flooding issue that was not really their fault.
Had fun even though the weather was bad. I mean its the Florida Keys.

We had a very nice stay at Parmer's! It's nicely located, close enough to Key West and the middle keys where you might do a fishing charter, snorkeling trip, etc. The resort has a lot of nice amenities. The included breakfast was wonderful. There are chairs and hammocks all over the property and a nice little beach with chairs and umbrellas. They have a limited number of kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for rent at very reasonable prices. There are both charcoal and gas grills for use. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that I'd say the rooms are about on par with a 2-star hotel. But it was comfortable and clean, and it looked like the floors had been recently updated. Nothing fancy, but perfectly fine.

I wasn't impressed with the Keys in general, but if we ever go back I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Our stay with Parmer began well with a beautiful 2-story suite. We had a large kitchen and bathroom with new fixtures and two private, enclosed decks looking at the water. We got in after 8:00 PM so the office was closed when we arrived. We noticed the smell of raw fish when we came in, but our bedroom was on the second floor and we couldn’t smell it there so we went to bed. By the next morning, the smell was unbearable and I pointed it out to one of the staff. I found out that they already knew about it and was told that the previous guests had fish in the unit. The manager met me at our suite and agreed that it was unacceptable so she promised to move me to another unit of the same quality.

After moving to the new unit I went back to talk with the manager. I informed her that, not only was it less than half the square footage of the one that we paid for, but also the kitchen was much smaller and older and the bathroom was worse than most cheap hotel rooms. I asked if we would be charged less for this one. She assured me that this unit had the same designation as our original suite and therefore cost just as much. I asked if we could get out of the rest of the week and move to another resort, but she told me that she would not refund our money.

We paid $1,600 for a week in a second-rate hotel room with noisy air conditioners, old appliances, and a small non-covered deck. The Parmer “Resort” management offered among the worst customer service that I have ever received and I encourage anyone who is planning a trip to the Keys to look elsewhere.

First, we would like to apologize again for the smell in your first unit. Occasionally we do have people that like to cook their catch in their units. After housekeeping worked diligently in the room, the only thing that could be smelled was cleaning product. We are sorry that the smell had re-appeared by night. Thankfully we had another room of the same room type available for the duration of your stay that we were able to move you to first thing the next morning! The room type you reserved was a Waterview, One Bedroom Two Queen Suite. We have four of these rooms on property and each one is different from the next, but has all the same amenities (two queen beds, one bedroom, kitchen, two sleeper sofas in the living room, waterview). Had we known you were completely taken by the first unit, we would have been more than happy moving you back after our team worked through the unit again.

We loved our stay here.
Opinions differ but for us the room was large and the bed huge! Also had a fridge and microwave.
We had a view over the road not the sea (budgeting!) however, the road is all but deserted and a dead end.
The breakfast room was great for chatting to fellow travellers. Nice choice of bakery, breads and fruit along with juice, coffee etc.
Site is in an ideal location but be aware it's a retreat - so only one bar/restaurant in walking distance although that bar, kiki's is fantastic.
Pool heated to 84 degrees which is essential as it's impractical to bathe from the tiny beach. The water access is really for floating craft of all types including a dock.
Finally, the staff - so friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Highly recommended.

Best vacation ever. The weather was warm with gentle breeze to keep you from being to hot. The pool was nice and clean thanks to Mark and Bob who cleaned it everyday and cleaned the beach sitting area. And Shawne was the best. Our little cottage was cleaned and restocked when needed and always asked if we needed anything. When asked for ideas of where to go, she gave great information of things to see and do. The entire staff was friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay at Palmers resort again.

I wish Parmers didn't lock up their pool everyday at dusk. During our Febraury visit this meant no swimming after something like 6pm everyday. 6pm was just about the time we were returning after our daily events. Their heated pool is one of the resaons that we are returning customers to Parmers. I should mention that Parmers is more of a motel than an actual resort. However, Parmers also has numerous good points. It's probably the best place to stay in the area. The rooms are clean and quiet. Recenly they replaced their beds (however some of their furniture is a bit dated.). Their staff is generally helpful and friendly. I enjoy all the fresh fruit they serve every morning for breakfast. They are located fairly close to Bhia Honda State Park. Key West is about 25 minutes away.

I liked our recent visit to Parmer's. It is a mix of older lodging, single buildings and multi-story. They are located on a channel that goes from the Atlantic to the Gulf. This part of the Keys has taken a lot of blows from two hurricanes in the past 5 or so years. I'm glad they have been able to complete renovations and stay in business. The location is great for us. There's a sandy beach area, boat docks, and a pool. They were willing to accommodate us by allowing us to book a single room for a few days, then complete our stay in a larger suite. It is clean, safe, and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the water-view porch. They follow local rules for covid compliance, and the breakfast buffet is still available with all selections wrapped for your convenience. This area isn't Key West, for which I'm glad. We plan on coming back.

We have been coming to Parmers for many years ( please see my previous glowing reviews, many of them). They now have new owners which are the 3rd owners since we have been coming.
A nice room with a view which for which we just paid $349 a night ( was $79 about 15 years ago) will now be $430 a night next year. We have always booked 1 year in advance. The price jump is ridiculous. I just booked an entire 2/2 house with a bay view and dock for less than I paid this year at Parmers.
Pros; beautiful location, nice boat slips
Cons; has gotten very expensive, no maid service, facilities are not taken care of properly( previously beautiful landscaping looks terrible), 0 customer loyalty, room was dirty ( dishes all needed to be washed), stove had pilot light out ( dangerous), shower sprayed everywhere, nothing painted... I could go on.
I never thought Id be writing this review about our beloved Parmers , where we were married on the dock a while back. Im sorry but new ownera please listen

After reading the reviews on this site we were so looking forward to our stay here. It appears that the only realistic review was by NW in Aug 22. We could imagine that 10-15 years ago this may have been a lovely resort. The "Waterview King Room" did have a view of the water but the furniture and building was so tired and badly in need of updating . Barely any toiletries were supplied, no shower gel so bring your own. The towels were good. The fridge was small. The grounds were totally neglected and needed a team of gardeners to bring them back to a good standard.

The breakfast provided in the breakfast room was good and varied. That at east had received a coat of paint. The staff there very pleasant and friendly.

It would have been extremely disappointing if it had been cheap but the price of the accommodation was extortionate!

This was by far the most expensive place we stayed during our 16 day trip travelling around Florida, four times more expensive than a beautiful apartment we later had in Mount Dora. A massive disappointment.

Not really. You can see the sunsets, obviously, but only in the way you can see a sunset anywhere. There is no open view or view over the water. The sunrises are lovely though!
