I did a lot of biking up and down Longboat Key. Sarasota has a nice museum, and I highly recommend Maria Selby Botanical Gardens, with banyan trees, lots of beautiful areas with different plants, orchids, etc. Sarasota itself has lots of great restaurants. St. Armands Circle, just over the bridge from Longboat Key, has restaurants and shops.
