We had a fantastic stay, great location for the Great Dorset Steam Fair and the delights of Dorset. The accommodation was perfect for the four of us and we had every thing we needed. The pub next door had great food and you just had to step out of your door. The only negative is the parking arrangements.

I have been here to eat many times and this time it was to celebrate my parents diamond anniversary. Everything was cooked to perfection. A regular favourite (a lite bite ordered as a starter) is the cheesy crunch garlic bread. Coleslaw under cheese and toasted. Never seen that before and for me, the favourite bit of every meal there. The...

Despite living relatively locally and frequenting this hidden gem of a pub quite often this is the first time I have eaten a roast dinner here and cannot rate it higher. Today's choice of beef or pork came with a good selection of veg, the best roast potatoes I have had in a very long time, Yorkshire pudding and onion...

I was really impressed with the friendly & familiar service & the ambience of a real Dorset pub. My meal was faultless and incredible value. I chose the pheasant, which was served in a mushroom, cream & white wine sauce, worthy of a restaurant. The food here is always locally sourced & well worth the wait as vegetables are always...

This is a fab pub - it's in the Good Beer Guide, it's dog friendly and child friendly with a set menu and a changing daily specials Board, over a week when we were staying in the area (but not here) we ate well on 4 evenings from their ever changing specials board. Beer is well kept and regularly changing.

Room very nice food in the pub very chip orientated but ok. Could have done with a bit more variety but acceptable for a little pub. Breakfast ok but all deep fried, beer choice good and staff friendly, it suited us as met up with friends who had rented a house nearby. Would give it 8 out of 10

Wonderful village pub, with a real local feel. Great food, friendly staff who offer great service and very comfortable bed and breakfast rooms. The breakfast is a real bonus to this already lovely country pub.

Pleased to see that the new management have slightly extended the menu in that there were more specials on our recent visit. Excellent service early on a Wednesday evening. The specials were in a range of £10-£14 and I thought my 12 oz rump steak with generous mushrooms and vegetables was superb. Desserts at £4.95 were sensible. There were three...

I stayed here for 4 nights and had 2 dinners at this lovely pub/bed and breakfast. The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to look after me - I was out in the daytimes at the Great Dorset Steam Fair and every evening I arrived back tired and grubby - but I was always made very...
