The Chalets are great. Well kept, nice space and very comfortable set up. The location is great to explore the Saguenay Region. We went early November and the area was very quiet. A lot of tourist places, restaurants and museums were closed, but there are great hiking trails and viewing locations available. Town people were very friendly. The one major draw back of the Chalet we stayed in are the beds. Both queen beds in unit 39 (2 bedroom) were absolutely horrid. There is no support, couples roll toward the middle due to breakdown of mattress, which results in sore backs and poor nights sleep - no matter how young you are. A reservation through RCI also seems to be treated poorly. We were given a back row Chalet with very limited view, despite there being only 1 other chalet occupied for a few days. The resort was basically empty with no activity. Bottom line - I would recommend this resort, wonderful chalets, well kept, beautiful location and easy access to surrounding towns, villages and hiking trails.

We arrived late coming from Ontario and there were keys hanging by the reception door as it was closed. Unfortunately our name was not there. We called several times but no answer. We even asked an English speaking guest to call them for us but no reply. We ended up staying in a different hotel overnight as we were tired after a 12 hr drive. Next day, we went and the receptionist said, through a translator, that her manager made a mistake and wrote a different name in the envelope. If only they answered the calls it would have been clarified easily! Then, when we checked in, there was no wifi the whole week. No one is trying to fix it.

We arrived Sat Sept 25th to the address provided by RCI. This resorts no longer owns the address we were told to go. After waiting one half hr for someone to check me in a man who owns this address was clearly upset that I was there trying to check in. He said to go look at the sign with the new address(we found out this address has been changed for a year). The sign was in French and unfortunately I don't read or speak French. While I was trying to get help another party came and had the same problem as me. Our room was adequate with no issues and the bed was comfortable. There was no view. There is no restaurant with this resort as RCI states. We were booked for a week but left after 3 days as I needed wifi for a course I was in. We had zero wifi in our 1 bedroom. My husband went to get a movie one night and they have no movies. There was also no hot tub. RCI clearly needs to get this updated as the changes were made more than a year ago. The area was very quiet. for anyone travelling with RCI the address is 24 l'Hermine. The river was nice and would be good for kayaking . Also was some trails with in the park. There is a bakery next door that was great but not open everyday and Cafe du quai had great crepes and seemed to be open every day.

These are not luxury accommodations by any means and there are some minor maintenance issues. More importantly, the wi-fi only works in part of the resort. But the area is beautiful, there are nice restaurants, and the area is great for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, sailing, kayaking, fishing, and whale watching!

I want to be fair to this establishment by saying that the property was clean, and very conveniently located. Those are the positives. We stayed over the recent long weekend for 2 nights. During our entire stay, there was never anyone at the reception - it was closed for the entire weekend and you had to make a call to get directions as to how to get your keys. There was no functioning internet, which we learned from an email the following day was due to a damaged cable. The TV remotes did not work, and we even bought our own new batteries to try and get them to function. So we could only watch one channel (the one the TV was set to when we manually turned it on). because we could not get the cable guide to display. Additionally, the hair dryer did not work and there was no housekeeping or reception on site. For the price they were charging ($500 for 2 nights) you have to do better than that. Unfortunate because we did have high expectations, but not having a receptionist around when the hotel is fully booked is not an acceptable practice in my view. Others we spoke with said the same thing. You do your own dishes and take your own garbage to the dumpster so it was, in every respect, a “do-it-yourself” stay for us.

Although the 1bedroom that we stayed in was not high standard it was adequate. There were a few problems during our stay but the staff was quick to correct them. Very friendly helpful staff. Had dinner at the restaurant attached to the property that was wonderful! Glass covered boat ride along the Fjord gave you a different perspective and was fun! Lovely little villages and shops in the area and about an hour away from Saguany where there is things to do and great restaurants!

The chalets are part of a lovely small hamlet of well preserved historical properties on a small bay of Sanguenay Fjord. We had one of the two “superior” condos (no’s 18 and 19) and it was excellent. It’s on two levels: downstairs is a large lounge and dining area with two sofas, table etc and a galley kitchen area. There is also a toilet and bath/shower on this level, as well as a small balcony. Upstairs is a huge bedroom with a large jacuzzi bath, washbasin, and separate toilet. The views from both lounge and bedroom are fantastic, looking out directly over a small marina and the fjord. The condo is superbly well equipped. It has washer, drier, dishwasher, large cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster etc etc, as well as TV’s on both levels. Parking is directly outside the rear door. The decor is fairly neutral and in very good condition. Everything was immaculately clean, and the condo has everything you need to be self sufficient if you want to be. The only downside is that the wi-fi is so poor, both in signal strength and speed, as to be virtually unusable. When we did get a half-decent signal, it usually had dropped out in the time it took to return a Google search result. We gave up. We did not try the restaurant attached to the chalets, but we can recommend the Auberge Fjordelaise about 100m away. They have their own residents so limited capacity for external reservations, so do reserve in advance. It was excellent and at $40 for a four course meal, superb value. Overall, the Chalets (we can only comment on the deluxe/superior ones as we did not see the others) are excellent if you want a relaxing stay by the Fjord.

We loved that place and we will definitvely go again, if you like kayaking and hiking, you will be served. Cosy cottage with an amazing view of the Fjord and a little marina. We took the little cruise direction Tadoussac, which a very nice little town again, we spent 4hrs ish before we jumped in the boat to come back to our Resort, lots of little shops and great restaurants .
