Management was not here when we arrived, We arrived at 12:30, note on the door that they were at lunch. While we waited for them to finish their lunch three other campers arrived waiting as well. Arrived 45 minutes later after another camper call them on a number not posted to us. Reservations made 5 months in advance. Called the...

The El Governor has been there since the 1940's, the high rise was built in 1987. It has been updated over the years, new elevator, fresh paint, new flooring, well kept up. We stayed in the high rise on the 5th floor. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the beach, and I mean overlooking. I could literally spit on the...

First the not so great - The RV lot across the street has some grilling/cooking smells and sounds and the patrons are not required to abide by the time restrictions as the motel. It's not overpowering but it does linger if that is a thing for you. Of course the rooms are dated but they did have a brand new...

The room was small. Did have a lovely view of the water. Furnishings a little outdated but okay for the price. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but again okay for the price. The ladies at the front desk were really nice and helpful

This was our first visit to El Governor and we loved it! We traveled through Mexico Beach a few months ago on a motorcycle trip and loved the quaint small town atmosphere and the absence of high rise condo's on the beach. It was like stepping back in time to when I was a child in the 60's and 70's....

This is our first time staying here and I am incredibly impressed at how clean our room is. However, we were missing hangers and a "do not disturb" sign, which the front desk provided for us and apologized. We are so close to the beach and the staff has been wonderful. One issue I have though is that they still...

I've been wanting to stay here for a while because the original motel (the annex now) looked so cool and totally vintage plus it is right on the beach. But, I was disappointed. Yes, the location was great, but for a whopping $170.00 a night, the room could have been more inviting. The beds were just so so. The bed...

The El Governor is the place to stay. The rooms are clean and all have an Ocean View which is fantastic. The showers have been upgraded and the water will knock you through the wall just the way I like it. The staff is friendly and courteous to all and they have a bar where you can get your favorite...

We always love going to El Governors. All rooms on the high rise have balconies facing the ocean so we LOVE staying at this hotel and have stayed here many times. My husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing weekend at the beach. My husband is disabled so our trips to the beach are short and he has...
