We take advice from trip advisor frequently and were steared wrong with this hotel. It is in a very bad part of town with police on every corner. We had a corner room next to the street and were awoken by gang members threatening each other in the street. We were scared to death. Car alarms going off and police...

Me and my cousin was looking for an inexpensive weekend get-away and what better place than Miami? Hotels on "the strip" were out of the budget for the weekend, so her Mom sent us a link to New Yorker. I must admit, we were skeptical but decided to go ahead and book it and agreed that we could change once...

My sister and I stayed at this lil gem during the last week of April and 1st week of May. The hotel itself is kinda cute very comfortable and extremely clean. The staff is ultra friendly and they go out of their way to make sure that you are ok. The pool is small but it is very nice and...

This "hotel" is a basically refurbished Art Deco style motel in a dubious neighborhood. The front staff are pretty unhelpful - for example, when asked how to get to South Beach the reply was just a shrug. We finally worked out a bus route. As this motel is a long way from any attractions, having a working knowledge or map...

Given the quite mixed reviews for the New Yorker on trip advisor I was not quite sure what to expect when I arrived. However, having spent 3 great nights here I am a massive fan. Having booked the hotel myself I was quite aware that it was extremely affordable, not in a particularly "glamorous" location and located right on the...

This is a great place: staff were friendly, room was clean, you get breakfast included, wifi works, nice pool and they do a shuttle to the airport which is cheaper than a taxi (and it seems to have changed its name to a Motel btw). The location I have to say isn't great as you're a bit far from the...

We stayed at the New Yorker over New Year's and had a great time. The owner, Walter, and the rest of the staff put the guest No. 1 and will do just about anything for you. Walter picked us up from the airport, took us back to pick up our rental car, dropped us off at a bar for New...

My husband and I stay at quite a few "boutique" hotels and this is ABSOLUTELY not one. The website doesn't mention that it's in a horrible part of town, that the rooms are dark, scuffed wall, loud air-conditioner, weird smell in the room. It is really nothing better than any motel you could stay at down the street, the only...

All of our rooms are well lit and remodeled with everything new including LCD flat screen tvs, and a new courtyard. Our website is 100% accurate!!! We tried to accomodate your request and even changed your room and you refused. Our hotel/motel is accurately priced for a Miami boutique hotel. If you wanted to stay somewhere else, it would definitely...

We arrived in Miami for a pre cruise stay of 3 nights. Unfortunately due to a miscommunication, our requested shuttle at the airport did not meet us. We eventually took a taxi which cost $30. The New Yorker is a small two storey motel. The rooms were spotlessly clean with complimentary toiletries, lots of towels and comfortable beds. There is...

This is an old roadside motel that's been updated with a modern color pallette, some ikea furniture and a "New York" concept. The room was clean, although there was no phone or clock and the AC was minimal to non-existent so good thing there was an overhead fan. Pool ok, comp breakfast not up to par even for a freebie....
