The stay was disappointing. Rooms are dated- old carpet, really old and uncomfortable couch in the suite, most things don't work. TV in the bathroom didn't work. Half the lamps wouldn't turn on. Shades in the bathroom wouldn't work which is not acceptable when you consider your bathroom stares into an office building. Shower was terrible- shower head looks like something you'd see at a Holiday Inn. I really can't believe this property is considered high-end. Worst was room service. We placed our order and were told 30-45 minutes. An hour later, I call down and the woman (Venus) tells me that they elevators are backed up so orders are delayed. She says 10-15 mins more. Another 30 minutes later- NOTHING. So I call again... Finally, room service arrives and they're missing the drinks. Best part is the woman delivering told me that they had just been handed the order- so basically the woman didn't submit it the first time and just lied about it being the elevators. At a true luxury, five-star hotel the manager would have proactively called to tell me food was arriving late and then they would have taken the initiative to discount the meal or send up a bottle of wine. Instead, I had to call and complain before they offered 50% off for the unacceptable delay. The customer service isn't there and the rooms just don't meet the bar to be considered a real luxury hotel. Oh- and I was supposed to get a free upgrade as part of a promotion. Check-in told me I was upgraded but when I checked, I was put in the EXACT room I reserved months before. It's just sloppy. Go to the Four Seasons.…
Great property, best location, courteous staff and huge rooms by all standards. The bathroom was luxurious. No delay in check in or check out. Very close to the airport. Only issue was non availability of English Breakfast Tea Sachets as everyone does not drink care. Other than this all perfect.
I stayed 5 nights at this property for a convention. Checked in late in the evening and received my key within 5 minutes. Very friendly staff. I requested a high floor and was assigned a 22d floor room, but when I got in the elevator, I realised that it was medium floor since the hotel has 43 floors. The first room floor is on 21, 20 is the fitness, 19 is the pool floor with mini bowling, a golf simulator and basketball. Below, there are office floors and meeting rooms. However, I was pleased to see that I was assigned a southwest corner room with nice water views. The room and bathroom are large, clean and comfortable with a manager size desk. The pool area is nice considering the city location, however the sun is blocked by the adjacent Kimpton Epic hotel between around 11.30 and 2.30. Efficient room service and evening turndown. I had a pleasant stay. …
Great downtown location with exceptional amenities. Rooms with spectacular views. Only negative would be less than desirable restaurants, food options were not so good . But other factors make this a good choice. The amenities include available bowling, billiards and table tennis. Also the pool is nice as well .
Worst experience ever ever had in an American Hotel in USA On a business trip seeing clients in a very old and not update suite that smell like the seventies... After a long day of meetings try to book a massage in the SPA You have to leave a message to schedule the visit. After two hours no one call back, try to get connected trough the concierge and still no one reply to me. Disappointed is a good word, but is NOT enough to express the bad service (not cheap).
One of the most amazing trips The one person who made a big difference in our stay was Concierge Andres Meneses. He helped us get dinner reservations , car service & made it very memorable experience
If you are a Marriott Gold or above don't expect too much from these folks. If you ask for an upgrade you receive a deer in the headlights look from the desk staff. Nice clean property and was lucky to get a newly renovated room. Went down for breakfast and the buffet was $45.00 . The new normal however I ordered from the menu and received 20% off. When arriving the bell staff were most helpful.
Our recent stay at the JW Marriott Marquis for New Year's Eve was spectacular. We spent the last few days of 2022 in Miami at the JW Marriott Marquis, and we wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world. The food, service, and attention to detail were excellent. Andres from the Concierge Team was God sent. He helped us get confirmed with a few restaurants and tours to enjoy while in Miami. Michelle, Kevin, and Cynthia from the front desk team made our check-in as smooth as possible and were able to get us situated throughout our stay. The team was as gracious as surprising my husband and I with complimentary champagne as they knew we were returning guests. Everyone went beyond our expectations! We look forward to staying at the JW Marriott Marquis in 2023.
The location is very convenient, especially for pre or post cruise stay. The pros about stops here. The amenities were a nice thought, as an attempt to justify the “destination fee” but everything is in disrepair. The bowling machine is broken, the foosball machine is broken. Service is slow and absent. Have tried asking for housekeeping items and took hours and often missing items that were asked for. Room cleanliness was average. Found hair in bathtub, shower, and food crumbs on carpet. Had communicated to hotel in advance that we are there to celebrate anniversary. Was acknowledged via email with special welcome but not even a mention was received. Nothing. Area is nice enough but just a block away seems sketchier already with many homeless asking for money or screaming at passerby. Not hotel’s fault but comes with the area. We had happy hour drinks at Boulud Sud. Excellent food and beverage quality. Great service. But again you don’t have to stay at this property to use the lounge/restaurant anyway. Compared to other 5 star hotels in Miami area we have experienced - Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental etc, we would rank this property the lowest. It is also the lowest priced but you can what you pay for. This is a 4 star property at best and frankly surprised it bears the JW Marriott badge.…
the place is tired, first room smelled and had to move - second room was renovated and very nice room - service was just ok in the restaurant . I am a Marriott warrior it just needs a renovation - they are really trying to improve service you can see it - they greet you when you come in and the restaurant manager was so nice and the breakfast buffet was very good - renovate and you have a gem
