This hotel needs to be upfront with guests regarding construction and closure of certain facilities. There was no communication at all from hotel about the construction actively happening at the hotel. If I had known this, then I wouldn’t have booked my stay here. Their website also doesn’t show that there is construction happening. Some facilities such as self-laundry are closed, which the hotel did not inform me of this beforehand. This hotel definitely needs to be more communicative and less deceptive
While preparing to depart the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay after our stay this summer, when we retrieved our luggage one of our bags was missing. The bag contained my daughter's laptop. Jose Perez had assisted us during our stay and had retrieved our luggage. He went back to the luggage storage area, viewed video footage and was able to track down my daughter's bag and return it to us before our departure. We cannot thank Jose Perez and the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay enough. Jose really went the extra step to rectify our missing bag situation. Jose Perez was excellent and we really appreciate the help that James Yazdzi providedd as well. We would be happy to stay at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay again when our travels bring us back to Miami.
I'm normally an easy grader, but I can't help suspecting that owners are preparing this well-located hotel for sale and thus paring expenses to a minimum. The staff seemed overworked. Some were gracious; others bordered on surly. There was no maid service the first morning of my two-night stay. (Luckily, I'm in the habit of making my own bed.) The walls were so thin that I could tell which football game the people next door were watching. There was no wifi or other internet connection in my room -- not even for an added price. I could have paid to connect in the business center, but only one person at a time was allowed in there.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay prior to a cruise from Port of Miami. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and had an amazing view. Restaurant and bar were excellent and the pool area wonderful. We have already book a room prior to our next cruise from Miami.
We have stayed here a few times before and had a great 5 star experience (per my previous review). You can see from my profile I rarely ever write anything other than 5 star reviews. However our stay last week in room 519 was very disappointing. We did get an early check in as we were coming off a cruise, and they accommodated us which was nice. However room 519 should not be used for any guests. It was not clean (see pics) and also had absolutely no view because of the construction scaffolding right outside the window meant we had to have the shade closed all during our stay. Also, there was no hot water for the shower or the sink. We brought this to their attention but their response was that the hotel was full and they could not move us to another room. To make matters worse, we ordered pick up food from their restaurant "Catch". They told us it would be ready in 25-30 mins, so we walked down. After 40 mins we asked the bartender (tall bald guy) if he could check on the status, his response was "it will be ready when they bring it up to me". So over an hour later we get the food and bring it back to our room. Well the order was a mess. We ordered 2 club sandwiches is all, they forgot to put on bacon, and only had a small single piece of turkey. It was a disgusting sandwich. I went back down to the Catch bar and the surly bartender didn't even apologize, he said I should take it up with the front desk. So I did, the front desk staff was very nice and apologetic, they did give us a full refund and said they would offer a free breakfast in the morning. Still, we had nothing to eat that night as we certainly were not going to eat at Catch. So my wife heads to the lobby cafe to get breakfast the next morning, and guess what, they were completely out of any breakfast foods by 9am. It was almost comical how poor this stay was. I would suggest waiting until construction is complete before staying here again. I would avoid ordering food at Catch at all costs. On the positive side it's a great location, and one of the best fitness centers. The front desk staff was very nice and professional.…
