Visited late June 2021. Valet parking is required but car is accessible if you need something out of it and they fetch the car prompltly. Check in staff was friendly. Room's a/c wasn't working so we were moved to another room and given $10/person breakfast vouchers (our silver membership may have helped). 2nd room was fine. Good restaurants in the lobby, espeically the Chinese place called Tony Chan's. The rooftop hot tub and pool were nice but didn't have towels.

Our room had a balcony and faced east, which had a very nice view. The floors were some sort marble or other stone which made the place feel clean since there wasn't carpet. We had some guests next door that stayed up all night and smoked weed, which blew over into our balcony which was annoying so consider getting a corner room to minimize it.

The hotel, staff, and their ability to fix a problem make this a nice place to stay.

The DoubleTree Biscayne Bay has a really great location. The property is just down the street from a park with tennis courts, basketball, sand volleyball, a kids play area as well as being on a marina overlooking Biscayne Bay with wonderful views of Miami Beach.
The hotel is in a building with owner occupied condo units, the initial drive up is a bit confusing when trying to figure out the parking. Valet service is available with in and out privileges, the wait for valet can be long so plan to call ahead from your room. The property has a large outdoor pool with plenty of loungers. There is also a 4 clover shaped hot tub. During my 1 night stay, very few people made use of the pool and hot tub, but both areas have plenty of space if that wasn’t the case. Just be careful walking along the pool deck as there were multiple loose tiles.
Cleanliness of the rooms is questionable, things look clean at first glance but closer inspection makes you feel like a blacklight might tell a different story. For my stay, we received a room change due to a balcony sliding door that did not close all the way and was upgraded to a bay view room for the inconvenience. The bay view rooms are much nicer and they are larger.
We had breakfast on property which was pretty good. There are several dining options nearby and on property.
The best part of the visit for us was the proximity to the free MetroMover. We were in town for a Heat game and did not want to have the hassle of driving. The hotel is just around the corner from the Adrien Arsht center where it is a short train ride to the FTX Arena. Definitely a good base if you want to visit downtown Miami and make use of public transportation.

A strange little hotel with a reception in an apartment house lobby, so it is not a separate hotel but the hotel rooms are placed on the lowest floors of an apartment building. Situated rather long way from the centre, in the residential area and not very suitable for tourists
The rooms towards the courtyard have an AC unit outside the window which buzzes and disturbs all night. Not something you want after 20 h travel. Rooms with bay view better, we got large room with strange leaning floor and large balcony. Standard ok, but noisy on a bay side due to different parties and all-night celebrations.
Breakfast confusing, if you buy it included in the room price, you get a voucher for one of the restaurants in the building. No separate hotel breakfast. No buffet. We ended up eating toast and eggs with cereals, cramming as many dishes as we could into the voucher $ we were given. Being used to real hotel breakfasts this was an unwelcome disappointment. No blame to the restaurant.
Staff friendly and helpful, tasty cookies on check in.

The location, room and views of the bay at this hotel are spectacular Ask for a high floor and a bay view room. The rooms are modern and aesthetically pleasing. The pool and hot tub are are excellent. Access to marina for jet ski, banana boat, jet boat, people mover all walkable. The only negative is the food in the hotel. While the Italian hotel is decent, the chinese is not worth it..

I booked a Bayview Room for 3 nights beginning New Years Eve. We were looking forward to watching the fireworks from our balcony. I did the automatic check-in the day before, and I received no choice of room, but it automatically checked me in. Upon my arrival to the hotel, I walked into the room, and it was a garden view room, not a bay view room. The Garden View room is a huge downgrade - instead of a view of the bay, you instead get a view of a patio where people are sunbathing. When I contacted the front desk/management, they stated that I chose that room, which wasn’t true at all. From previous experience with the Hilton App Check-in, it prevents you from choosing a room from a category you didn’t book. And of course, with NYE, there were no available Bayview rooms. To be honest, I was pretty upset. The hotel was able to put me in a Bayview room the next night for the rest of my stay, but certainly didn’t explain why I was downgraded. They gave me a minor discount for the stay on NYE, but didn’t make up for the situation. I contacted Hilton Guest Services, and they gave me a free one night stay at another Hilton Doubletree location, which was a more appropriate reimbursement.

From a positive standpoint, the Bayview room is very nice, it’s very large, with two sink areas, and there’s a beautiful view of the bay and Miami Beach from the balcony. The hotel has a nice pool and large hot tub as well.

Last note, I stayed at a Hilton Doubletree in Nashville, and checked in with the Hilton App, and I confirmed that it only lets me pick rooms in the category I booked. So this pretty much means that the hotel downgraded me without my consent. I’m guessing they overbooked rooms for NYE, and downgraded me for their mistake, then lied about it. Nice…..

The good things, it is close to Port Terminal for cruise. The pool when you find it on floor 10 is large, and the hot tubs again when you find them at back of pool level are ok but were overcrowded with noisy folk. Noise is an issue, soundproofing is poor, we heard noise from next door and from corridor. We did not feel safe. Beds small and old. so not good sleep. One room was on 8the floor but miles from lift. The valet system stinks. If you are a family going on a cruise it is not appropriate, it takes time to laod children and luggage. Dispense with valet and let us park ourselves. Breakfast is in a cafe owned by others with $8 off from hiilton, Not a real Doubletree .

The only positive thing I have to say about this hotel is that the Primos Italian restaurant in the lobby is absolutely amazing. I believe Chris was our waiter and he did a great job always ensuring our drinks were full and our table cleared of empty dishes. Top notch service.

Now... To the hotel...

From check in to checkout it was nothing but problems. I used the virtual check in option so I could go straight to the room and begin our weekend. However I was promptly informed I was required to go to the front desk for verification. At first I figured ok, I used the AAA card and they want to confirm the membership.. yet I asked if they wanted to see it when I went, and the women said no, it's not needed. Then they informed me that the 9th floor balcony bay view room I'd booked was not an option and they put me on the 6th floor with an obstructed view behind one of the restaurants.

When we got to the room I went to go get ice and quickly learned the 6th floor ice machine did not work.. however, since you needed you room key to utilize the elevator I had to go all the way back to my room on the other side of the building to get my key, to begin wondering the hotel to find an ice machine. This wouldn't have been a problem had I been on the 9th floor like I'd booked.

Finally we got to our room and initially it seemed nice. However, the longer we were there, the more issues we realized.. To begin with, the security latch on the front door looked as if it has previously been kicked in. If someone were to push the door, the latch would undoubtedly fail. The sliding glass door to balcony would not close all the way and therefore could not be locked. The mirror to the sliding closet door was severely bent and cracked and the furniture was warped, rotted and completely scratched up and holes in the walls.

These are issues that you would expect at an $80 a night motel 8, not a $400+ per night "Grand Hotel" by a Hilton..

Then the manager, Thalia, turned around to offer 15% off or 15,000 points back. Considering I used 33,000 points to reduce my total for the stay and the single night still came out to almost $400, I feel the least Thalia could have offered would have been to return the 33,000 points that were wasted on her poorly kept property.

This review is related to the privately owned condos rented as part of the Doubletree Grand Biscayne Bay.

At the first glance, the condo we stayed in (#1249) appears quite nice & modern but that is where it ends. There has been a poor attempt to make this look better than it is with a quick and cheap face lift. Within the first day we found a number of things that weren't as expected.

The shower has such poor water pressure, saying the flow was a trickle would be giving too much credit. The flow is so poor, you can barely get wet. The rest of the condo (kitchen sink & 2 bathroom sinks) have pressure equally poor.

One of the two patio doors to the deck does not close properly, perhaps not a problem with the location on the 12th floor, but quite loud from the street noise and flights over the building.

Single pack coffee is provided by the hotel, but the coffee maker is a regular 12 cup carafe, not sure what the single packs are for??

Generally, this is not what we expected from Hilton and do not recommend the condos is this is typical of these suites.

Dear Steve D, Thank you for the feedback! I am sorry to learn of your challenges with the water pressure in Condo 1249. I reported the incident to our Engineering team to ensure we investigate and the water pressure situation is corrected for any upcoming guests. It's a shame that missed the mark and did not move you to another unit. We have a large selection of 1,2 and 3 bedroom Condos that are part of our program and would provide an amazing stay. We hope to have another opportunity to Wow during your next visit to Miami. Best Regards, Kreick Rovelo Director of Operations

Hotel was nice, and very clean. Valet parking was effortless, coming and going. Room was very clean. Balcony was a plus! The items in the stores downstairs were up charged, but paying for the convenience of having the items you needed steps away from your room was worth the extra price. Food in the restaurants at the hotel was delicious!

I’m not sure so you can call the hotel. I did the Uber everywhere. It’s very close to the port and the Ubers weren’t expensive at all and all the drivers were very nice with a wealth of information .
