Not what I expected at all…we didn’t receive housekeeping service two days in a row. I had to call and when they came the room wasn’t properly cleaned. Coffee capsules were not replenished, the hairdryer wasn’t working and there is a light flickering. We tried going to the rooftop and we were very rudely turned away because I had my baby with me. Additionaly there are not pots available to cook. Let’s see how the stay continues….
Terrible service, nobody answers the guest service phone. Incredible but frayed towels. ! Awful experience for the money spent. Lugage assistance had to call 3 times and 20 minutes later had the assistance required. Do not recommend going to this hotel.
We didn’t stay here. I made reservation but had to cancel. Canceled almost 1 month before reservation and received cancellation notice via email. However, they continued to email us about our “upcoming” stay. I tried 5 times to call and tell them it was canceled and I had their verification email. They hung up on me each time!! They charged us for the stay!! BEWARE DEALING WITH THIS HOTEL!!We will be denying the charge through AMEX!
Positive: - Room was spacious, bed comfy and we had a great view. - Staff at the entrance was very friendly and helpful. - Directly located in Brickell with a lot of restaurants, shopping malls and a short walk to the FTX arena. Negative: - Staff at the reception was fast, but not really friendly and motivated. Staff at the pool was terrible. No smile and unfriendly. - Pool closes at 6:30pm at the moment (don‘t know, if this is a covid issue), which is far too early for such a hotel. Pool hours should be at least until 8pm. Additionally the whirlpool and other things were switched off 20min earlier that you had the feeling of not being welcome any longer. Sheets of the sun lounger looked dirty. - I understand the deposit per night and room, but I don‘t know, why the hotel blocked the whole amount plus deposit at check in, blocked the full amount again at check-out and finally charged two days later. Because of the blocking at check-in and check-out around USD 2.000 we’re blocked in my credit card account for over one week, which it is a problem, if you your holiday of four weeks is ahead of you. One time blocking should be enough to guarantee the payment. - Room was never cleaned the three nights, not at all a problem for us, but would have been nice, if the garbage was emptied at least everyday for such a price per night.…
I've stayed at East several times and I really like the hotel.....I have a favorite room style (corner view with wrap around balcony)......the location is perfect.......but the service is spotty.......my arrival at the front desk was totally average.......until a bellman jumped in......he remembered me from prior visits.....(or at least from looking at my profile) and made me feel welcome.....I stayed 4 nights and asked for a 3 PM check out (to avoid a LONG wait at the airport).....and was denied that request......after a little pushing I was given a little bit later check out......but not what I needed......so my return stay in Miami will be back to the Mandarin Oriental......but I'll continue to stay here from time to time......hoping for improvements.
