This hotel by far is the absolute WORST! It looks great to the naked eye but the staff is extremely unprofessional and the hotel is filthy to say the least! Our room had little hairs all over the chair and floor, the safe didn't work, and the light was out in the little room/closet where the safe was located. The storage closet co-located in my room was leaking water which ran from under the door into my room. Yes, they finally changed my room. Happy Hour is literally 1 hour, 4 drinks for $4, no problem, but if you need a straw or napkin the answer is NO! Everyone at the front desk is rude, uneducated, and unaware of the amenties the hotel is SUPPOSED to offer. They all seem bothered when asked a question. Save your money and stay somewhere else!
I wanted to do this review because I looked at the reviews and almost going to change my mind because of bad reviews about the hotel. First, I will go over bad reviews and tell about my experience. Complaining about loud music and partying. I stayed with my 9 years old daughter and this review was scary for me due to she could not sleep. Honestly I never heard any loud music partying all night in a way could bother us. Sometimes when people walk on the hallway and talk loud you hear it, or you hear some music when they open their room door and close it in a slight moment you hear it. Even Saturday night music comes from outside not a bothersome. Cockroaches!!!! Never ever see any one insects in our room, even not a fly. Smelling weed everywhere. For this one, I would be agree but you only smell it, I could never spot anyone so, this one is very hard for the hotel to know who does it. Also hotel is on south beach and it smells weed even on the street everywhere. Our room had no smell of any kind. All staff were helpful. If I had any minor problem and asked helped, they solved the problem. Room was clean and acceptable. Pool was clean and good size for amount of guests. Backyard was beautiful. Hot tub was clean. Felt really comfortable with the environment. We used mostly backyard bar for drink and food. Expect to spend quite on food but again, south beach is expensive in general everywhere. Service was kind of slow sometime though, food was delicious and I enjoyed my cocktails on pool side. Also, I would like to say this hotel is not an expensive hotel with being on South Beach and has a perfect location. You only get what you pay and for me hotel exceed my expectations for its price.…
We stayed in March despite some of the iffy reviews we gave the hotel a chance and we're glad we did! The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and professional! Unbeknownst to us the dates we went were the beginning of "spring break" and we had no noise complaints! Pool was clean and the hotel is only a few steps from the beach and you're given a pass for beach chairs, umbrella, etc. Hotel fee was reasonable and the lowest we were able to find! Great food at the hotel and all around the hotel. If I go back to South Beach, Miami we will definitely stay here again!
The hotel seemed clean and the beach was a short walk out the back of the property. They have a cute back yard bar area but the drinks were super expensive except for during the happy hour and then it was so crowded and the wait was long for a tiny little drink. Unfortunately, there was only 1 very small elevator working the entire week which meant more long waits. The worst part was the all night long loud music, doors slamming, partying, hootin and hollerin, even a couple domestic disputes. Pot smell was everywhere. If that's your idea of fun then you'll like it but it's not for me. I'm just glad we didn't bring the kids!
It was our first time staying at the Marseilles Hotel and I do have a few pros and cons about this hotel. Pros: •The hotel room was clean which i appreciated. •If it’s one thing I can’t deal with it’s a dirty pool/area. However that wasn’t an issue at Marseilles. The pool and the area around were very clean. The water was the perfect temperature. I didn’t feel icky while swimming in the pool. •The area beyond the pool was so cute. Perfect for picture taking. When they have the DJ it’s such a vibe! •The frozen drinks were awesome and the WINGS and CAESAR SALAD were soooo yummy. Cons: •What really ruined this hotel for me was the fact that we had no access to water. After a late night , my friends and I came back to the hotel and wanted to get some water. We were told that there was a vending machine in the basement so we gladly went down to get some water. When paying the machine to get some water, no bottles came out. They had run out of water bottles!!! We went to the front desk and explained to them that we were thirsty and it was unacceptable that there wasn’t any access to water. The man at the front desk suggested that we drink the water from the faucet.... I was so appalled. He was so rude and offered no solution. Instead I had to run across the street to TWO different hotels just to get some water. •it was very hard to get food and drinks service by the pool area. When we did finally get someone to serve us, the lady was so so kind. I wish I could have gotten her name. I just think they need more servers by the pool area. AT LEAST 2 servers. •Our toilet in our room also got clogged so before going to the beach in the morning we let the front desk know. When we came back to our room 5 hours later, the toilet was still clogged. I had to call 3 different times to make sure someone was coming up to fix our toilet. •Make sure to bring your own beach towels. They only place about 5 beach towels a day in the pool area........ when I asked if there were any more beach towels the front desk said they would be bringing out more. They never came out. •Beware that the pool area/backyard bar closes at 8 even on the weekends. My girlfriends and I wanted to go hang out there after we were done getting ready and we were told that they had closed. Such a cute backyard bar for nothing. i’ve never heard of the back area of a hotel closing to their guest. even if the bar is closed guest should still be allowed to go take a seat and hangout. what’s the point of having all those cute lights and music if you’re not going to allow people back there. •Beware that the beach access door closes at 8pm. we were at the beach until 815pm and when we tried to use our key card to gain access to our hotel, the door wouldn’t open. we had to go ALL the way around two hotels to get to the front and then go inside our hotel. In all, I think that this hotel can improve in many ways. I wish that the cons weren’t so bad as I would have loved to come back to the hotel. However, I think next time I will choose to stay elsewhere.…
