Fountainbleu was the best experience ever. I would recommend it for a family or friends getaway/vacation. The hotel is Beautiful, and the service is excellent. Justin was specifically one of the greatest servers by the pool! We will definitely be coming back again
We had a great afternoon at the Fontainebleau beach for our anniversary … we always visit at least once a year because of the great treatment of guests, and Jay was the most attentive server on the beach. His energy is contagious, and he helped make a great day great!
My first piece of advise is, take ALL reviews with a fine grain of salt. Everyone's experience is going to be a little bit different. That being said, I would rate this property as Average to Very Good. Between 3-4 points. The resort grounds and lobby look just like the pictures! Beautiful! First, I want to address a few things that are being said in the other reviews. (once again, grain of salt) Nowhere have I found this hotel to be listed as a 5-Star or 5-Diamond property. Those ratings are exclusive to Forbes and AAA. These two companies are the ones that give out the rating distinctions. Hotels, com, Expedia, even TripAdvisor etc. are rated differently and DO NOT go through the same extensive process that hotels are rated for an actual 5-Star or 5-Diamond properties. I did find Fontainebleau listed on Forbes as a "Recommended hotel". I imagine this means it is about a 3 1/2 Star Hotel rated by Forbes. So all of this expectation that this is a "5-Star Hotel" is ignorance on how the ratings works. There are six 5-Star properties in Miami i.e. the Four Seasons, The Mandarin, and The St. Regis, etc. If you are looking for that kind of service stay at one of those properties. Next, a lot of reviews complain about the prices. DUH! IT'S SOUTH BEACH, what did you expect?!? If you plan early enough and go directly though the hotel itself you can find some decent deals. I never book hotels via 3rd Party. It's never better than what the hotel has offered me. You can even haggle a little with them to meet or beat prices you find elsewhere online. If for whatever reason they won't work with you, stay elsewhere. I've never had that happen. I was able to get a great deal for 4 suites with food and beverage credits no haggling needed, as they had the best rates. Full disclosure, I have Lifetime Marriott Titanium status, but I was traveling with a group and we wanted to check out this hotel. The St. Regis and W Hotels were double the price of what we paid, for less space. Scarpetta is a AAA 4 Diamond Restaurant, and it was fantastic from top to bottom. Vida/Blade was just okay. Service was good, food was mediocre for the price. There are also lots of great reviews for the pool and beach service that seem to be a bit of stretch in my opinion. The service was good, maybe even a little better than good, I think I was expecting a little more. When it down pored and they were clearing up after the storm, the cabanas were the last to be cleaned up. Those are the people paying so those should be the first to be cleaned. Also, the cabanas could use updating. Our server Cassandra, however, was very good. Yes, this was expensive, but we were there to splurge a little. La Cote- That was a party! Lots of young people. It reminded me of a cruise ship. We just had lunch there and sat in the back. Both the food and service were very good, even though it was a little bit busy. It was nice to eat outside in the beautiful weather. We like to people watch so it was fun to see everyone dancing and having a good time. The Gym was great. Gorgeous view while you workout. The staff was wonderful, I think the one gentleman I spoke to was named Mike. They also have a cold water machine in the gym to refill your water bottle. Great customer service. I cannot comment about the spa, because we never went. Further, a lot of the reviews complain about the lines. I'm pretty sure the hotel was booked to capacity for most of the weekend. However, I don't remember waiting in line for anything longer than, maybe 20 minutes. They had a pretty full staff working almost everywhere. Even for coffee in the morning at Chez Bon Bon, the line was long but I only waited about 10 minutes for a coffee. Some of our group drove their own cars and we only waited at valet for about 15 minutes. We did use a car service for pick up and drop off to the airport. Legacy Transportation was great. For the rest of the weekend we used Taxis and Ubers. Now, this has nothing to do with the hotel, but the taxis and Ubers in Miami are HORRIBLE! If you can arrange car service before you go, I highly recommend it. The Lobby Bar! We had a blast. Our server was Lauren. She was the sweetest! A lot of review say this hotel caters to "Hip Hop" Crowd. Our group is definitely not that. We're a bunch of 30-40 year old women, but we never felt out of place. Yes, it's loud, but it was great people watching and everyone was just happy to be there and having a good time. I've also seen some reviews that called the clientele "Trashy People" Shame on you! Just because someone dresses and looks a little different doesn't make them "trashy." To those people leaving those reviews, a few words of advise: BE BETTER HUMANS! Also, when you go to a hotel, any hotel, if you don't want some noise, I recommend brining ear plugs and a white noise machine. If you want more peace and quiet go stay in Brickell. However, we didn't experience much too noise. When you are sharing a building with other people it's bound to happen. We stayed in the Sorrento Tower and had four suites of different sizes. Our rooms were pretty clean, but they could have been cleaner and they were in need of some maintenance. We all had K-Cup machines in our room for coffee. I was impressed of the condition of the hotel for it's age, but even so, we had issues with a toilet and an A/C unit. I made them aware of that, I think we should have been compensated for the inconvenience. That's part of where they lose an Excellent rating. However, we didn't spent a whole lot of time in our rooms Check in and Check out. I saw a lot of complaints about only two people working the desk. I'm not sure if I believe that because I always saw a full staff at check in during peak hours. The woman who checked me in and the woman who helped me the second to last night were both very sweet and kind. However, the guy who checked us out was a real piece of work. When I asked him about the last day of our food and beverage credits he very snooty and of just blew me off. I was not happy about that . He should not be working in a customer service position. However, I do not remember anyones name at the front desk. I will review my statement when it posts on my credit card and call if I need too. If I have to dispute charges, I will. I have all of my documentation and receipts. UPDATE: I was overcharged $700 + when everything hit my credit card. Two rooms were correct, the other two were incorrect. I will give them another 48 hours to fix it, but after that I will have to take it up with Amex. My one friends overheard a lot of people complaining about being over charged. This is a problem the hotel needs to fix! Make sure to check your bills and credit card statements. I would not recommend using a debit card. I cannot comment on Hakkasan, or Pizza and Burger as we did not go. We had reservations at Joe's Stone Crab, Prime 112, and The Palace Brunch, so we left the hotel for those. I also cannot comment on LIV Nightclub as we did not go to that. Yes, there are a lot of people in the lobby before and it does smell like weed, but it never really bothered our group. I always travel with Vic Vapor Rub, if I am somewhere where I can't stand a smell, I just dab a little under my nose. Finally, yes, we had a few hiccups along the way, but we also had so much fun! We drank a lot and just enjoyed seeing each other. Our group hadn't been all together in a long time. Once again, take each review with a grain of salt. While some of the negative reviews are/may be a little warranted, from my prospective as an avid traveler, even I think some of them are just a little dramatic and bit obnoxious. People love to complain just to complain about something and when the world doesn't revolve around them they have a hissy fit. I'm not the type of person that is going to let stupid stuff ruin my whole vacation. I saw a few families with kids. Maybe if my kid was a little older I would bring him, but this was a weekend with friends. If you're looking for a great time with your girlfriends I would mostly recommend this resort, with a few cautions.…
The hotel is beautiful, the people who work there are , I want to thank one of them special- he works at the pool . I excellent customer service very friendly staff and great to and his name is inglish
Room was nice, but overall a very noisy hip hop crowd. Guests coming back to their rooms at 4:30 AM screaming at the top of their lungs; smoking pot on the decks. Not at all family friendly. Considering the size of the hotel, restaurant offerings were limited and frequently full. Staff overall not customer friendly. Had to call housekeeping several times for basic supplies like soap, toilet tissue and towels. Pretty disappointing overall. A bright spot was one of the pool attendants by the name of Ozzy. He was very helpful.
