The Bilit Rainforest Lodge is well accessable by road. The last 10 minutes of the trip are to cross the Kinabatangan River.
Cabins are spacious, clean, and airconditioned. Yet they give the sensation of sleeping inside the jungle. Elephants come (witnessed by droppings and footprints)...More
Spacious bungalow complete with huge balcony. We found balcony very pleasant for sitting out at night (unlike previous review, our light was fine for reading). Although eating area and balcony are open to insects, there are also friendly bats who swoop in and devour the...More
We were on a two night/three day package at the BRL, and it was everything we expected of it. The large veranda’d lodge rooms, on stilts, were clean, with good bathrooms and fan/aircon; quite adequate, if, as we’ve found in similar lodges elsewhere, impossibly underlit...More
My family and I stayed here recently for the 2 day/1 night trip. Wish we had stayed longer. The accomodation was gorgeous - clean and spacious and the food was remarkable, including river prawns so large and delicious we could not believe it! On the...More

Hi Darryl. Bilit lodge is a few hours drive from Sepilok where the Orang u tang sanctuary is. If you want to stay near the Orang Sanctuary- try Sepilok Jungle Resort - we loved it. Bilit lodge (loved this place too) is on the river and it does include the boat rides along (2 one at sunset - one at sunrise)the river to see birds, crocs, elephants, several kinds of monkeys. one of the guys does a night jungle walk - which you pay extra for - I think it was about $10 Aus. and you can buy beer :) and snacks at the lodge. the overnight fee includes your dinner and breakfast (which was good) don't expect 5 star at either place, there are 5 star places as well. up to you
