Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we had to cancel our trip to Borneo. Like many other people, I have had to cancel numerous flights and hotels. I just wanted to say Myne Travel refunded our booking with ease, unlike some of the big tour operators and airlines I am still being fobbed off by. I think this says a lot about the integrity of Myne Travel and I wouldn’t hesitate in booking with them again, when we are able to do our trip to Borneo.

We booked our tour & the accommodation through Amazing Borneo. Our bathroom was a bit tried but the room was clean with a lovely balcony view looking out over the River. We didn’t have anyone go into our room to make beds ect this didn’t matter as we only stayed 2 nights. Patrick picked us up from Sepilock and as we drove he was very informative. With Patrick as our guide we saw some fantastic wildlife on the River and on the walks. Sun loungers would have been nice on the decking area somewhere to relax in between trips.

We spent 2 days at Myne Resort, and absolutely loved it. The common area and rooms were clean and very nice. The view of the river was stunning. I think what made our visit top-notch was our guide Patrick. He's a local with great English, and he made our time so special. He was happy to answer any and all questions we had with a smile, and was so kind. The river cruises were great! We saw tons of proboscis monkeys and macaques, hornbills, kingfishers, crocodiles, and more. Our night walk in the jungle was another highlight. We saw a civet, which walked around us for a couple of minutes, eating berries. In the jungle we saw tons of interesting insects - a meter-long stick bug, a juvenile tarantula, lantern bugs, etc. Perhaps most amazing of all was that Patrick spotted a wild male orangutan in the trees near the resort. He went with us to see it, and we watched the orangutan for about 30 minutes in the trees just above us. Eventually the orangutan actually entered the grounds of the resort and sat there. We stood nearby and watched it. You really can't beat that! In addition to that, the staff cooked us nice and simple vegan meals, and there was always plenty of food and coffee to be had. I 100% recommend this place, and would go back in a second!…

The resort is set on the bank on a bend of the Kinabatangan River. The rooms are clean with a good wet room style shower room, all appear to have a river view, but with a lot of steps to get to them. There are two river cruisers, morning and evening and you see slightly different things so I recommend doing both

We would like to thank the staff of Myne for our nice stay there! About 2/3 hours travel from Sandakan this resort is situated in the middle of the jungle right on the edge of the Kinabatangan river. The view is stunning! Everything is very well arranged, from meals to activities including jungle hikes and several boat tours. We saw many animals and the scenery is amazing. One tip: make sure to bring your mosquito repellent!

All started so well, communication with the resort was great when were planning the trip, and our transfer was waiting for us as we arrived into sandakan airport. We were the only guests staying in the resort, for 2 nights. The location is fantastic, and the staff helpful. Unfortunately on our first night our trip took a turn for the worse. The food made me incredibly sick, keeping me up all night, and as I was awake during the night, a large mouse appeared in our bed!! There was a hole behind the AC which it ran back into. The next morning we decided to check out as my wife and I could not trust the food served, or be able to sleep peacefully the following night. The resort were very understanding and gave me a refund for the following night and a transfer back to Sandakan. Perhaps we were unlucky on what should have been an amazing experience. …

We very much enjoyed 2 days at this very comfortable lodge watching lots of wild life on the river and on jungle walks including orangutan, proboscis monkey, wild pig, eagles, herons, hornbills, pitta, and so much more. Very comfortable well equipped rooms and good tasty food.

We were there on a 2 night, 3 day package and expected much better from the reviews on this site. The resort seemed very 'tired'. Time after time staff would be doing nothing or watching tv, while tables went uncleared, and spills went uncleaned. While the front entrance was swept every day, much of the dining area didn't appear to have been washed/cleaned in months. Our resort room was very dusty on the surfaces, and one evening we killed over 40 ants in the bathroom. There was hardly any excess food on the buffet at any meal (A good thing?). When the food was brought out from the kitchen, it was never very hot, and the sterno flames underneath the chafing dishes did very little to keep it warm. No attempt was made to cover the food once it was served. However, it was nice to always have a couple of meat dishes and a couple of vegetable dishes to choose from, together with rice, and soup. Desert consisted typically of fruit and a jello or tapioca dish. Our guide did everything he could to help us have a great experience in seeing the wildlife, both on jungle walks and river cruises. Unfortunately with the millions of acres of palm oil plantations, the rainforests have been devastated and the animals and birds reduced to relatively small strips along each side of the river. We were heartbroken over this as the competition between palm oil and rainforest has the palm oil industry clearly dominating over the tourism industry. The trip from Sandakan is only 30 miles, but takes nearly 2 hours due to the construction on the road and heavy traffic. We have visited wildlife in many places in the world and were terribly sad to see what has happened here. Because of all of the foregoing, clearly a one night stay with multiple walks and cruises would have been sufficient. …

We stayed there on a 2 nights - 1 day package booked directly through the resort / travel agency. Booking was very easy (fast answers), which reflects the perfect management of the resort: simple but fully adequate room for 4 in the longhouse, good buffet for lunch and dinner (with limited choice to avoid waste), very well organised activities (cruises and walks)... Given the moderate price, an excellent choice.

We have had a wonderful stay in Myne Resort for 3N/4D, booked through Amazing Borneo agent. Location is one of the best among many lodges in River Kinabatangan. During our stay, we had Patrick as our guide. He is courteous and so knowledgable in birds and wild life. Combining his skills, plus boat captain and park rangers, we did 6 crusies, jungle walks (day/ night). It has been so much fun and we encountered hornbills, eagles, prosboscis monkeys, macaques, many types of birds... not to forget orangutan and pygmy elephants(Herd of 8)....the rare sighting of clouded leopard during a night cruise! It's more than we expected for our wild encounter. The resort is quiet and rustic. The chalet overlooks the beautiful river. Restaurant provides all meals with unlimited tea & coffee. During the weekend with higher occupency or busier months, buffet is provided which is of good standard. All staff are friendly. If you need anything during the stay such as towel changing, just let them know and they will be sort it out for you. We have made the right choice to stay in Myne resort. Highly recommended for all nature lovers - get your camera ready and plenty of insect repellant.... Have fun! …
