Staying here right now in a 2-bedroom villa… fantastic hotel amenities, great room. Condition of the room are perfect. Service horrible!!! Just came from 8 days in Kidani village, whilst villa was more outdated the service was impeccable. No one in reception, no one picks up the phone in guest services… it simply does not make sense to have such great amenities but such poor service. Definitively not Disney Standards.

We stayed in the new DVC building, Big Pine Key in a Lagoon View room. The room was great and we had a nice view of the Polynesian. I am only confused as to why this would be an upgraded view. We had stayed in a standard last month and it overlooked the pool and a few months earlier we tried the Theme Park view and that was great as we could watch the fireworks from our patio. Regardless, the building is great as it is centrally located on the property and there is a washer and dryer on the first floor. My only issue is that our room overlooked the lagoon and the monument to memorialize the little boy who was killed by the alligator a few years ago, which is a thoughtful tribute. What is not is the water parade that actually has an alligator chomping on it. Seems disrespectful considering... Also, the water parade caters to the Polynesian and offers no benefit to the people paying for the upgraded view at this property. Anyways, enjoy your trip. I am sure you will enjoy it and the thoughful details that go into each room. See if you can find the hidden mickey in the vents and Mr. Poppers penguin.

This is by far my favorite resort. We stayed in a studio in the Big Pine Building. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. It was impeccably clean, beautifully appointed, the view was great - we could see the evening fireworks clearly over the top of the buildings. The ONLY, only thing I can say is that the parking is difficult to that building. The parking is in front of the main DVC building so you have a hike to your room. They do allow you to bring your cart to your room without an attendant which we greatly appreciated. They have the best quick service at all of the Disney hotels - I can still get my croissant breakfast sandwich - nummy!! Everyone was so helpful and nice. Smiling, they go out of their way to help make you comfortable. Thank you, Grand Floridian, for another great stay. Financially, I have to sell my points, so this is probably my last stay, but it was wonderful and very memorable!!

Disappointing. We had high expectations for this resort. We were definitely disappointed for the level of service we received considering the cost. It was my wife's birthday and they were not helpful at all (and I had asked for assistance to make her feel special but I got no help). As well, they woke us up one night by leaving a sound message which was terrible and ruined one of our days - completely unacceptable for a high end resort. Not likely to go there again.

I’m extremely disappointed to say that I have had a great experience ruined by a single event from the hotel staff. Unfortunately the dryers aren’t working properly which happens. After calling for assistance I was directed to an alternative in a building that is under construction and another alternative that has a four hour wait. I was then disconnected from housekeeping (it happens). Then walked to the front desk just to be instructed to walk to yet another building.

Originally this building was part of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It's now part of the Disney Vacation Club timeshare program. The building was freshly redone and we are one of the first visitors. The draw was "NEW" and two queen size beds. Frankly, we prefer the original building. Unfortunately, the access to the Big Pine Key building is much more complex. One needs to drive up to the either the Main Resort building or the original Villa building and have bell boy service to cart your luggage to the remote location. We stayed in a studio and the decorating was nicely done. However, no thought was given to the practicality of having the sofa face the two beds and the beds facing the very nice large screen TV. I guess that's OK if you like watching TV in bed. It's also missing the grandeur of the bathrooms in the original building. There is a Keurig coffee machine in the room which had been missing in the original villas.

If you are looking for a superb deep tissue massage you need to call Mikaela at Soma Spa. She has a lovely personality, will address any problem areas, and the cave environment is excellent for relaxation. You can even has a dip in the jacuzzi whirlpool! If you are staying in or near Firostrefani in Santorini I highly recommend an appointment.

Our second stay at the Villas at the Grand Floridian was even more magical than our first 3 years ago. We stayed 6 nights in an upper floor 1 bedroom villa with a standard view of the main lobby and monorail station. Everything about this resort stay was amazing; breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe, the walkway to MK, the pools, the refurbished rooms, the ambiance, the proximity to parking, the walk way to the Polynesian, etc. I loved relaxing in the room at night with the doors open, and waking up to the view of monorails coasting by. The rooms are light and bright, and the new furniture is lovely. The lobby of the villas is gorgeous and the service provided by the cast members is exceptional. The penguins fountain is “practically perfect”! I plan to stay here again next May, and will no longer be doing a split stay with another resort. No other resort I have seen compares!

I have stayed at Grand Floridian in the traditional resort rooms a number of times and always had positive experiences. I’ve always loved the resort’s mix of grandeur and classic charm, and how you can feel like you’re in a perfect little world within the courtyard setup of the property. While my experience at VGF was fine and nothing to complain about, I did find that the villas weren’t quite as magical as the resort side and didn’t exactly live up to the hefty points/price tag. We stayed prior to the recent soft goods room refresh, so some things we noticed in the room may now be a non-issue. Our standard studio was spacious albeit quite worn, as evidenced in the walls and furnishings. The fixtures were high quality but had seen better days. My favorite part of the room design was the massive bathroom, which was spread across three separate areas and included both a walk-in shower and tub-shower combo. Though a small detail, I especially loved the TV built into the bathroom mirror as it was an addition that made the room feel a little more luxe than other DVC villas. From our standard studio balcony, we felt just feet away from the Monorail passing by (the coolest thing about this location), and had a view of the Wedding Pavilion and some snippets of Polynesian and the Seven Seas Lagoon. The location of the VGF building is on the outskirts of the property and closer to high traffic areas, such as the parking lot, the gym/spa and basketball court, the Wedding Pavilion, and the walkway to Polynesian. All of the coming and going around the area kind of felt like we had one foot in Grand Floridian and the other outside the resort’s “bubble”. With the location of the building, I felt a bit isolated from the main resort and outside of the things that make Grand Floridian so special. The walk back and forth to the main building/buses was pretty direct but the separation from all the happenings definitely felt more impactful when we experienced bouts of heavy rain and felt restricted to the villas building. Overall we had a good experience but I did leave feeling underwhelmed. Keeping in mind this is usually the highest points resort (and highest cash price resort, always excluded from discounts), if felt like there should have been more to VGF. It didn’t feel like the villas had many (if any) exclusive amenities, and I’ve definitely noticed more villas-exclusive amenities at lower points resorts (BLT or BCV, for example). I would be more likely to try VGF again in the future once the new resort studios on the main property are completed.

The new updates for the rooms are very nice. It was time and Disney delivered as it has been almost 10 years since the VGF were built. The Murphy beds are very nice. I slept on one for four nights and it was very comfortable and not much different than a bed. As we stayed in a two bedroom and then a one bedroom we were lucky to have laundry capabilities. This is so nice as you may pack less and even take home clean clothing. My only concern was: We were in a two bedroom and then had to move to the one bedroom which is a bit of a hassle. Had we been in a two bed lock-off we would not have had to move. We spoke to concierge about this prior to travel, at arrival, and again right before we had to pack up and move.
