First stay At Sapphire Falls Orlando. Was such a pleasant experience from valet and bell service to a beautiful lobby. Our check in was a breeze and our front desk agent was very helpful in placing our families two rooms close together.( I believe his name was Syl ?) the hotel was lovely and had a great vibe open and airy. Smelled great and the spiral staircase made of bricks is truly unique. We dined at Amitista twice, bought items from Dutch Trading co and got room service. Everything was seamless. Diego and Jenna (I believe) were terrific there. The boats were seamless and such a pleasant way to traverse the parks. After staying twice at Portofino, which I love, I think we have a new favorite. The pool area is nice as was the outdoor area with the ping pong tables gave us a great area to sit outside during a thunderstorm while staying dry. We will return.

Hotel's Favourite
A beautiful hotel with superior service. The hotel is exceptionally clean. The beds are comfortable using higher end linens. The restaurants are great with some off the beaten path menu items. But you'll find enough choices to satisfy everyone. There's a giant pool area with cabanas, a bar, and activities. Convenient complimentary water taxi to theme parks and City Walk. Don't skip it. It's an attraction in itself. We were a party of just adults. We felt neither out of place nor overwhelmed with familes. Sapphire Falls is a wonderful theme park resort. We had a perfect stay from check-in to checkout.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay. Our expectations were high after reading other reviews but we have left feeling a bit flat. Pros: Beautiful hotel, large welcoming lobby Water taxis and walkway to Universal City, stunning view returning at night from both these options Access to other Universal hotels to use pools Lovely staff - asked if we had preferences and gave us a bathtub in our room Rooms are a decent size Lagoon view was stunning from room Pool area large and looked nice Decent small shop for coffee/breakfast etc Cons: Noisy rooms and guests around us, we didn't get a decent sleep any night due to this. Not the hotels fault about other guests being noisy but if the walls were a bit thicker it would block this out a bit more. You can hear everyone passing along in the corridor at all times day and night. There were 2 queen beds in our room but we would have preferred a king bed option instead but this was not available without a massive increase in price which I didn't feel justified opting for this just for a bigger bed in the room. Whilst we felt there were a lot of advantages to staying here such as the water taxi, early entry to universal etc, without a decent nights sleep the whole time this means we would not return in future. It is definitely more suitable for families.

Stayed for 7 days with the memsahib some 28 years after first visiting Universal from the UK. Our travel agent recommended the hotel on the strength of its daily and very prompt shuttle boat service into city walk for the parks - without a shadow of a doubt that is an absolute no-brainer and it runs until around 0200 most days. The hotel experience fell at the first - no bellhop for our luggage and a one -person check-in desk with a theme park queue. IT problems with the check in card swipe annoyed me even more and then we were left to navigate our own way to our room whilst trying to decipher the Enigma-style 4 digit room number in the vast hotel (house, floor then room if you're interested) Room was completely corporate with plenty of towels and a good ensuite and decent flatscreen TV. Beds were US generous sized and comfy. We did decide that we missed having a balcony though the view over the shuttle boats always had something happening.. Poor in-room internet and even charged for it in the 'business centre' We relied on the Amatista cookhouse for our evening meals but be advised that its official closing is 2200hrs, after that you have to rely on a grab and go in the lobby. Cheapest glass of wine was a shocking 11usd I recall. Pool side (you needed your key card to swipe gate access) was nice with plenty of sunbeds and an enjoyable flume slide for you adventurous kids out there. 24usd for a frozen colada and a cake served by friendly, keen and young staff. The most damning thing about the (premium?)hotel was the lack of concierge knowledge about how to get to the I-ride trolley for the full Orlando tourist experience -they recommended a 14 usd taxi to achieve the trip - see below for our 'gnats chuff' cheap alternative. And that was the main reason why we felt like prisoners in very comfortable and expensive corporate America. Other annoyances in no particular order: security to get onto the water taxi (what would I do ?), room card to get poolside (fair enough i s'pose) keycard failure at Universal partner hotels on I drive, crap internet in room, poor signposting to get to Avis car hire in garage, lack of bellhop on arrival and the general feeling that you are getting rinsed at every opportunity (as stated elsewhere, in-room bottled fiji water is 7.5usd, not complimentary 4.19 at Walgreens). Gnats Chuff guide to access I-ride trolley from universal parks: 1. Go to ground floor of main universal carparks 2. Catch bundled courtesy bus to Universal Endless Summer hotel. 3. Look for stop5 green southbound on I-ride just outside hotel, stop6 on red is 200m walk round the corner opposite Walgreens/KFC 4. Stock up on cheaper bottles of wine at Walgreens or elsewhere on International drive 5. Take wine back to universal hotel using courtesy bus system 'cos you wont be allowed into the park with it. 6. Have a drink on your veranda feeling smug and having saved around 8 bucks per glass. I know i sound miserable but I have come to the conclusion that I have grown out of theme parks, despite the immersive 3D rides being super-impressive and Sapphire Falls having done nothing really wrong apart from no front of house staff on the Monday and poor concierge training.. It felt like a real victory to have broken out onto I-drive for our little sojourn. Our decompression at Cocoa Beach was a much happier story.

We love staying at Sapphire Falls. It is a wonderful resort. We love their restaurant. Amatista. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We love the water taxi. We would stay there all the time if they had express passes like the 3 higher end resorts. We still stay at Sapphire at least one night every time we go to Universal.

Thank you Loews Sapphire Falls for a fantastic stay! The staff throughout the hotel are lovely and can't do enough for you. The hotel is clean and bright and any minor problems that occurred were quickly resolved by the hotel staff. They made our family holiday perfect and shall definitely be returning. I can highly recommend this hotel, the staff are so friendly and they give a high standard of service. The hotel has everything you need for a family holiday and then some. The free water taxi to universal and city walks is fantastic and the boat staff and security are fun too. One of the lovely water taxi trips had a fantastic boat ride with everyone singing YMCA on the boat which will forever be a fond memory for my sister and brother in law who got to enjoy that ride. My son and daughter inlaw also made his daughters 13th birthday special by arranging a cake and balloons to be delivered to the hotel room on the morning of her birthday through the concierge and the cake was delicious!!!! Pool view from our hotel window was amazing and the food throughout the hotel is lovely too. Cannot fault this hotel and the staff deserve praise for their service. Thank you and see you all again xx

LONG line at check-in, toilet leaked, barking dogs across the hall from our room. The water taxi closed due to weather and the staff was not helpful in directing us to the buses or waking path back to the hotel. We waited about 45 minutes for a bus to talk us back to the hotel. The bus driver was not very friendly. Universal needs to take a few lessons from DISNEY about customer service.

I am genuinely so sad to only rate this hotel 3, we have stayed in 4 other Universal hotels and they’ve all been solid 5* stays but unfortunately we would not return to Sapphire Falls, and we would not recommend it to friends. We checked in very early, were given room keys and told we’d get a text at 4pm with our room details. At 4.45pm we were still waiting and had to chase the details up. This meant we missed Stay & Scream for HHN. We paid for a lagoon view room, and while we did get one, it was on the ground floor and not the spectacular view promised at check-in. The room was also surrounded by rooms with dogs and honestly this was our biggest issue. Every morning we were woken by dogs barking, at times this went on for hours. So there was absolutely zero relaxing, lazy mornings for us. I am unsure if all rooms are pet friendly or if we got unlucky being near the pet walk area, but this seriously impacted our enjoyment of the resort. The carpet in the hallway was also covered in yellow stains which we can only assume to have been dog pee. There was one night during our stay where the hotel bar was closed for a private event, only drinks were being served, the quick service was also closed by the time we got back to the hotel and so we tried to order room service, only to be told it would be over an hour. We found this unacceptable given we had no other options. We also had issues several times with the key entry gates & doors not working to access the pool area or the corridor where our room was, which meant every-time we left or entered the hotel we had to go via the main lobby. This was not an issue with our keys but with the scan system, we never had any issues with our room door. So overall I’d say we had quite a negative experience. On the surface it’s a beautiful hotel, but look closer and it’s just not worth the additional cost compared to Aventura or Cabana Bay.
