Detailed Reviews
My wife and I arrived after midnight. We had worked all day and driven several hours to Pnanma City. When we arrived the lobby doors were locked for security and a sign directed you to use your room key or pick up a phone that was on the wall. As we had no key, I picked up the phone. It rang between 20-30 times and was then answered. The lady advised she was on the third floor and would be down shortly. A few minutes later, she arrived and unlocked the door. She checked us in without incident and was friendly. As I was extremely tired from a 20-hour day, I just wanted to get to sleep, so we went straight up to the room.
My wife immediately noted several medium lengths to long black hairs in the room. They were on the floor in the bathroom, in the sink, in the shower. We were both too tired to address the situation at that time, so we took some pictures to address it in the morning. We cleaned the hair up and went to sleep.
In the morning, we approached the desk clerk and explained what had happened. Her response was a little terse and caught me off guard. She wanted to know why it was not reported when we noticed the issue. I explained I was tired and a little cranky and felt it would be better to address the situation when rested and less apt to be impolite. We attempted to show the pictures, but she seemed somewhat ambivalent.
We told her all we wanted was for the room to be cleaned while we were gone for the day and her attitude seemed to mellow. She said she would notify the general manager of our concern. When we got back, the room was cleaned, and all the hair was gone. We were not contacted further.
Many of my reviews talk about how issues arise, and I try not to judge the issue, but rather how it is addressed. I do not think this was handled in the best way possible.
As for the rest of the hotel, it was clean, and the public areas were nice. The location is okay, but not great. We chose this as it was the closest Bonvoy property to our son's residence. I think I would drive a little further on future visits.

The location was clean, and spacious. I was in the area on a business trip and had recently had surgery. As a result, I needed some additional accommodations and assistance from staff. The employees on shift were friendly and EXTREMELY helpful. This is a good location for business travel (convenient to major roadways, and amenities), or short-term trips. I highly recommend!

Room was very good, clean, and hotel was located in a good area, near shopping and many restaurants. Plenty of space in room, including a couch. The bed was very comfortable. Only minor issue was the thermostat needed to be fixed, as when the door would shut, if it shut too hard the thermostat would go dark and not work.

Spent one night here. Had to move rooms because the room smelled extremely odd. Second room was nice enough. Our young daughter got sick in the middle of the night. The front desk has nothing to help us clean up but gave us some towels. When I checked out and received my e-bill, I saw a surprise $75.00 charge. I called about this and was told it was a cleaning fee and once they swiped my credit card they could charge whatever incidental they wanted. I was never informed of any such charge before during or after my stay. The front desk person I spoke to simply did not care that it was wrong to do. I called Marriott who is taking care of it for me but even they were told by the hotel too bad. I would not recommend any family to stay here. God forbid your child gets sick - they are entirely unhelpful, unsympathetic and frankly unreasonable. They do not stand up to Marriott standards and should not be associated as I have never had a bad experience at any other Marriott I can think of and this was the fourth Marriott hotel I stayed at this week. Bravo to corporate for being courteous and supportive in the face of this disappointing and mediocre affiliate hotel.

We stayed one night at the Courtyard in Panama City. It was a great price considering it was spring break. The whole hotel appears to have been renovated recently. The hotel and room was clean; however, we were given a two-queen room rather than the king room we booked. Overall, it was a decent place to stay but nothing particularly special.

I booked a room here because other area hotels were full. New hotel, now I know why they had rooms. Breakfast which is comp hot and cold at the Comfort inn & Conference Center and La Quinta (both of which I normally stay at) was $7.95 plus tax and grauity. They also have a signage problem, we had to stop at the Comfort Inn when we turned off of highway 231 for directions to this hotel. Plus I get a much better corporate rate at the other hotels. This hotel is for the high end business person.

I have to admit I was really nervous about going here because of the terrible recent reviews....I went so far as to look at a lot of other hotels, but there was no vacancy in town due to the Softball World Series. We stayed here expecting the worst and really got the best!! It was an unexpected surprise. We stayed in a King Suite...all of the rooms are newly renovated. They are beautiful...contempory grays, white and gold...the pictures on trip advisor are really old and are not accurate(thank goodness). The only issue was the sofa bed....we had 2 kids with us and the sofa bed is only a twin so one of the kids had to sleep on the floor. The king bed was really comfortable and the mini fridge was very useful (I was told there are mini fridges in all of the rooms). The staff was super nice and we were allowed to check in early...I would say ignore the other ugly reviews. Keep in mind though the lobby was still under construction....it may be noisy during the day until it is over and we were gone during the day at the ballpark so I can't comment on it. I was very relieved at how nice it was!

We paid $200 for a room that was about thirty feet away from an area under major renovations (when we reserved the room in advance, no one told us that we were in the remodeling area)..The experience was HORRID, hammers banging, air compressors humming, and fine white dust was in the air, on the floors and on the lobby furniture...
When we complained to the desk clerk, the manager, the district manager and the Marriott customer service line, they all said that because we had booked the hotel through Priceline, there was nothing they could do to reduce the price of the room and refund some of our money on the spot.
We were never offered to be moved to a different room.
The manager at the hotel, Stephanie, was very rude to us. She kept saying there was nothing she could do (as we had requested to have the room rate reduced) because we booked through Priceline. Ridiculous, we didn't stay at Priceline. I even asked Stephanie if she was in our position if she would be upset, and she said yes. She totally agreed that we shouldn't of had to pay $200 for a room where we had to listen to tools all day long.
Get this, while we were sleeping on the 5th July, after being out on the 4th of July evening, the construction crew started banging their hammers at 8 in the morning.
When we called the general manager, Scott Hillman, he was rude as well, very rude. He said that we should have noticed that the hotel was under construction when we got there and that we could have gone somewhere else. Pathetic, we had booked this hotel a week in advance, to stay overnight on the 4th of July weekend. There were no other places to go. Scott also said there was nothing he could do to reduce the cost of the room, that we would have to take the matter up with Priceline.
The hotel was nice but the management was just downright rude.
They should not have charged us full price for our room.

It was about a 15-20 minute ride from the airport and it's next door to a hospital and a shopping mall. The front desk and bell staff were very friendly and welcoming. We got a 1 bedroom junior suite which has a separate and dining area. The sofa becomes a pull-out bed. The room comes with 2 small refrigerators and a micro wave. However, they only provided cups and glasses and no utensils or bowls and plates which would be helpful for long staying guests like us. Breakfast is included and it is served in the Pacific Grill restaurant at the second floor. For supplies, there is a big supermarket on the 2nd floor of the Multi Plaza mall next door.

Stayed here while on a last minute road trip and will definitely stay here again. The hotel is about fifteen to twenty minutes to the beach, but an easy drive. It is located right next to the Panama City Mall and several other shopping areas, including a Target, Wal-Mart, and a Publix. Courtyards don't include breakfast free, but this one had a buffet available for $8.99 on weekends. The eating area is large and the lobby is very spacious and well decorated-- there is also complimentary coffee and a business center area. If you don't want to do their breakfast, Panera, Starbucks, McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, and Dunkin' Donuts are all nearby. Almost every chain restaurant you can think of is in the vicinity. The room was large, clean, and had a nice balcony---the pool looked lovely. The staff is also very friendly. This would be a great choice if you want to get away from all the craziness that Front Beach Road can be, yet still be close enough to enjoy all the beach has to offer.

I am not aware of the grocery you describe, but the hotel is in a commercial area and there are freestanding grocery stores within a 5-10 minute drive.
This is probably the safest hotel and location in Panama City. It is a block off the main highway and has green space. Peaceful, and quiet, but close to amenities. I lived here for several years, so I know which areas are best. Hope this helps.
