Stayed 4 nights here and had a wonderful time. Early March was cool and breezy, ocean water was cold, so the hotel was probably about 25% occupied and the rates were about half what you pay during summer peak season. On the plus side it was not very crowded. The room was clean and had a large refrigerator with ice machine. The staff was professional, friendly and very helpful. I felt secure there as they had plenty of staff around to make sure all were safe. This is probably one of the best places to stay on Panama City beach especially for families with children as they have a lot of activities for young and old alike. Everything you could want is here, large heated pool, kiddy water park, lazy river to float around and adult and child hot tubs. Large outdoorTiki bar with a band daily during my stay, outdoor movie and shows at night also. Game room, indoor restaurant, pizza stand, a general beach shop and so much more. Stayed here years ago and they have made many improvements since. Plenty of parking across the street from the resort accessed by a drive and walk through tunnel under the street. Valets on golf carts also to assist you to and from. Four fast elevators made floor access a breeze, plenty ice machines, luggage carts and great ocean views from the balconies. Will stay again in near future.

This was our first stay at H.I. Resort but won't be our last. The security was plentiful and everyone on staff was always nice and helpful. Resort was very clean, and we were constantly seeing staff cleaning and repairing anything that was needing attention. Our room was super clean and we appreciated having room cleaning during our 2 night stay---so many places don't do this anymore, but we appreciated it.
There is so much to do, or not do, that you can park and never leave. Activities for the kids were abundant and we felt safe and secure throughout or visit. My only pet peeve was seeing people go out at 7am to lay claim to the pool chairs.... there are tons of chairs, but please obey the rules and don't lay your towels on them unless you're going to use them immediately.

The cleanest most exciting hotel ever! I loved the lazy river the entrance to the beach also. The entrance was no steps and has a handrail very good for people to walk with that need rails. The activities were so good! Lots of restaurants and kids eat free! Love it!!

If I could give 0 I would!! This hotel has a terrible policy and not accommodating. After 9 hour delay our flight was cancelled. We tried booking another flight the following day. It could not secure tickets for the whole family to travel. Contacted management about situation and asked for refund. They refused refund. Offered for us to book again with them again for this year. I explained I could not do that due to scheduling conflicts we had already planned out our summer and with kids schools we could not travel back this year. We wish we could but it’s just not feasible. Every one…car rental and all the tours I had book refunded my money 100% with no issues. I asked for a credit to used at other Holiday Inn hotels and was not considered. I was charged $321 for something that was out of my hand and this hotel and management were not accommodating. I booked through IHG as I’m a member they also were zero help. Will be cancelling that and also will not be staying at any Holiday Inn hotel. Terrible! Carol was the manager at this location who has zero flexibility or understanding of the situation. Just be ready that if your flight is cancelled you will be charged $$$! They don’t care.

Everything you could want but overpriced and overcrowded. Panama City Beach is beautiful so you will enjoy the beach here.

You can literally walk right to the crystal blue water from the hotel… and so can any other person taking the public beach access nearby. We paid for 2 days of the hotel chairs and umbrella (which are very convenient & worth cost) but outsiders will come and put up their tents in front of you. The hotel says they can’t do that but it happens anyway.

The hotel is outdated and dirty. The room we had was with a queen and double bunk beds which is so nice for a large family but the floor will be sandy and housekeeping only comes if you ask them to and they don’t work on Sunday. Bring your own toilet paper and your own beach towels.

Expect a large crowd that overruns the pool every day.

Expect them hotel to charge you $175 additional dollars (on top of your nightly rate) if you leave early.

Expect to spend $100 on meals. Kids eat free but they really don’t because they upcharge the other food. However, I will say the food was convenient and service was fairly good.

Entertainment is great at hotel. There is always live music and Polynesian dancers/fire shows.

Overall it’s a good deal but I would choose somewhere else next time.

This is our 4th time at this resort. Let me start with the good. We still had a great time, the pools are great, the kids area is good and the new lazy river was nice. The shows and atmosphere was still great. We did have a good time again and all the people working there was friendly.

Now lets talk about the bad. The price per night had doubled. We went ahead and booked since we felt safe that we would be happy instead of looking for something new. But 2 of the main things that kept us coming to this resort, instead of booking just a condo for a weekly rate was gone.

1. They are not cleaning your room daily or even brining toilet paper or towels daily. If you want more toilet paper or towels you have to call down and then wait for them to show up. If you want your room clean you have to request it 24 hours in advanced. At almost $500 a night with resort fee's and taxes, I expect the room to be cleaned each day. This was something I was willing to pay more for the resort than the condo, because I didn't want to clean up sand and such on my vacation, but I still had to do it. There is just something great about after fun in the sun to come back to a clean room. When you are busy with your vacation schedule, you just don't remember to call and schedule cleaning and frankly, I don't think I should have to. I thought maybe this was a new industry standard, but we stayed at another Holiday Inn in Kissimmee the week after this stay and they cleaned the room everyday.

2. The food prices greatly increased. A hamburger and fries were $22. Where they used to be like $14. So we used to be able to eat most meals at the resort and now we left for almost all meals. I think this is a loss for the resort. As I am sure there are more people like me that are spending very little money on food at the resort now because of the prices. Where if they had kept them reasonable they would be getting our money. Like if the price had went from $14 to $16 or even $18, we might had kept our money there. But when you are staying a week, that adds up quickly.

Since these two items above was very key for us staying at the resort instead of just a condo, I do not believe we will be going back now.

If I have to clean and go out for food. I'll save a bunch of money and just get a weekly rate at a condo.

This is too bad, as up to now, we had been very happy here.

This was not our first stay here, but we are incredibly disappointed by what has changed. The food prices are ridiculous!! Vanilla Latte at The View is $14.89! Mixed drinks/frozen drinks are the same and they are watered down and were not tasty at all. No housekeeping service unless you request it, which isn’t a big deal really but give me a broom for the sand on my floor, clean towels daily, and bigger trash bags to take my own trash out. Our room could have been cleaner, there is red juice splattered on our shutters that just needs a wet wipe down. The shower had razor stubble on the wall from someone tapping their razor on it. Small stains on a pillow and comforter. On our second day here we realized that our door to our room was not even latching and you have to slam the door with all your power to get it to close and then wait and play with it to see if it will lock. When I booked our room it states it sleeps 5 on the website, it does if you want to pay $25/night for a rollaway bed. The rollaway bed is springs with material over it. Not sure who is sleeping on this and feeling on vacation. Daily resort fee DOES NOT cover the beach chairs and umbrella at the beach. Two chairs and an umbrella will cost you $50 each day.
Otherwise, the staff is great and very responsive. The resort is clean and very secure. I love how much security there is on patrol at all hours of the day and night. Save your time going to the “beach bonfire” it is a tiny little fire ring that about 6 people could sit around. Dive in movies are great for kids - little kids. Did have a security guard say to my 18 year old daughter when she was in the adult hot tub -“ma’am, I know for a fact that you are not 18!” When she replied that she was, he left her alone. I did a rewards stay, but if I had paid for my stay and wanted to eat at the resort, I could have went on an all-inclusive vacation for what it would have cost me. It was cheaper to Door dash our meals or go to a restaurant. That is disappointing if you just wanted to be a beach bumb. I am so sad because we absolutely love this hotel, but the concerns above make me question returning.

My family has stayed at this Holiday Inn three times now and we enjoy the resort. I want to be able to give this hotel 5 stars but I can't based on a couple of things. You have to request house keeping services a full day in advance. For what a room cost, house keeping services should be a daily service without having to be requested. By the end of our trip there was sand everywhere. Yes we wash ourselves and toys off when coming back from the beach but there is just no way to get it all off, it tracks in with you. We had a large pile of dirty towels and all trash cans were overflowing plus extra store bags I started using. The other big issue I have it the cost of the food. Kids do not eat free for what an adult is having to pay for a meal. I visited the "coffee bar" one morning, which wasn't a coffee bar at all. You place your order with the breakfast restaurant hostess and when she has time between seating guests so takes your order to someone else. A small latte that would be $5 anywhere else cost $10! I only went the one time. Had the prices been more reasonable I would have gone every morning and we also would have eaten more than just one meal on property.

Hello 85hollyw, Thank you for choosing to stay with us, time after time. Your feedback is greatly appreciated as it helps us improve the overall experience of all our future guests to come, such as yourself. As an IHG property, we put the safety and well-being of our guests and team members first, which is why we request the 1-day notice of room service. However, if you ever need new towels, trash removed, or other room amenities, there is no need for a notice. You can always call down to the front desk, and our housekeeping team members will take care of it right away! Your concerns will be brought to management as we want all our guests to leave the resort fully satisfied with their experience! We are glad you enjoyed your overall experience and hope to have you join us again soon! See you at the beach! Cheyenne G.

I’m a frequent flyer with IHG. I stopped at this location out of necessity for one night. I did not partake of the entire resort. My review is strictly based on the room, lobby & parking. Anyone paying more than $180/night (and that’s reaching) for the hotel is getting gouged!! The rooms are ultra damp, outdated and dingy. I don’t want to hear “it’s Florida so of course it’s damp.” My final destination didn’t have damp linens & a wet atmosphere regardless of the Florida humidity. This is a facility issue. Their ac wall units are exceedingly inefficient at even slightly keeping up with the weather here. Motel style rooms & halls (access from outside), broken fixtures, damp linens, dirty & reshuffled coffee pot, condensation riddled bathroom, dirty shutters, inadequate ventilation, gross/filthy carpet, grit on floors. Badly managed from the looks of it. I just needed to sleep for a few hours, but if this had been my final destination and had to pay the $440 “ocean front” premium for an actual vaca, I’d be po’d and move to another location. Definitely NOT worth the money they’re charging. Parking is also an absolute joke. I needed disability access and had to park across the street and be brought in by a golf cart. They have a valet area with parking. Why they couldn’t accommodate me was beyond irrational on their part. I specifically asked the valet if they could plz accommodate my need for disability parking and she said they were full. I passed three empty spots driving to the other parking area. The only perk was the front desk guy was really nice. I found the entire property grossly under maintained and subpar for them to call themselves a “resort.” Beyond grateful this was not my final decision.

Our family has stayed at the resort multiple times. However this last trip was horrible. I completely understand the wristband policy and have no problem following it. However, we met up with some friends that live in the area out on the beach, they had little children with them and inevitably one of them had to use the restroom. My wife offered to take her and their 5 year old little girl up to our room so she could go number 2. The hotel security wouldn’t allow them to pass and use the restroom. They had to basically sprint across the street and use the Waffle House restroom before she pooped her pants. It was ridiculous and embarrassing for us as guests and hotel management couldn’t have cared less or even be bothered to give us the time of day other than to state that it’s policy.

Other than that the pool was overly dirty, the food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced and under value and the card readers on the door only work about half the time. There are far better hotels on Panama City Beach. Trust me, go elsewhere this hotel is more of a “only if you have no other option.”
