Cons:Dilapidated building, worn and squeaky mattresses, neglected grounds, sketchy location
This is an extended stay hotel. It's not geared for stays of a few nights. I booked an overnight, on points, because it was the cheapest. It's cheap for a reason. It suited my purposes, but it's not for everyone.
Pros: the room was clean. The room has a kitchenette.
Cons: the room is somewhat stripped down. Burnt out light bulbs, missing light bulbs, no hangers in the closet, the shower curtain didn't extend the whole length of the bathtub. The wifi was effectively non-existent. The building has seen better days, and is geared towards longer term residents on a budget. Location is slightly off the beaten track for an overnight.
If we had not been so tired and after midnight upon arrival, we would have left.
She did however accomplish something. She made us determined to do two things: 1. we will NEVER stay at ANY Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, not only in Pensacola but anywhere – We would rather sleep in our car and go without a shower. 2. Determined that I will write an honest review and post it anywhere and everywhere I can find to keep anyone else from having such a horrible experience.
First of all, I reserved a room with a king bed. The bed was NOT a king. The kitchen was not stocked with everything specified. We were also given one towel and one washcloth for 2 people.
Second, our second night there we came in after 8 and our key cards would not work. When we went to the front desk, the lady was not friendly at all and claimed we had a balance and that's why the cards didn't work. When I told her we pre-paid, she then tried to say because we didn't leave our cards in the envelope they gave us that our cell phones deactivated them. My husband questioned this the next day with the manager, and he assured us there was no balance due from us.
Third, housekeeping only "cleaned" our room once in the 4 nights we stayed there. They did not leave additional towels or make up the bed.
Fourth, I killed bugs in our room, one being a cockroach, and the coffee maker looked like it may have had mold in it.
As someone who has stayed in probably 100 hotels in her lifetime, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I would tell everyone I know to spend the money and stay elsewhere.
The first day we get to our rooms, they look VERY rundown absolutely nothing like the pictures.
The fist room, the carpet is so worn it’s barely there, the stove had longly neglected black on it. The fridge was open, the microwave looked like they had been cooking metal in it, no smoke detector and yellow stains on the pillow cases.
The second room the water in the bathroom tub keeps running won’t shut off. we went to dinner, came back and the floor, carpet, furniture , everything was wet and smelt awful!!!
So we got another room, that room, the stove is on, half the light didn’t work (main light and the bathroom light) some of the plugs didn’t have covers and my daughter got shocked plugging in a charger. There was no smoke detector And there was several cockroaches. At 9pm I was on the phone looking for new rooms. I had 2 and my stepsister had 2, unfortunately we were not able to find anything last minute so we stayed.
The next day we went to a funeral for my parents, went to dinner came back and my room key isn’t working, so We run downstairs for a new key. We get new keys and go to open the door and it’s latched from the inside. Someone was in our room. 🤦♀️…. So we go downstairs for a new room and they had to “search” for another room for us. I told them we would just stay in one room and they told me they would give me a refund through Priceline.
Called Priceline, they contacted the hotel and they said they would not refund me for the night they gave my room away.
