I usually stay at La Quinta when traveling alone to feel safe and secure. This location did not. The elevators and doors were all exterior with no security features, and people were still milling about on the walkways after midnight. It did not feel safe at all.
The tiny, tiny bathroom also needs updating- I could not wash my hair as the shower head was lower than my shoulders, and I am not exceptionally tall.
Finally, there were no breakfast offerings. I understand there are limitations with the current COVID restrictions, but we have stayed at other La Quinta locations since the beginning of the pandemic and were given sack breakfasts both times. This location made no effort.
I would not have stayed here if I hadn’t already paid in advance by booking through their app, and we only stayed one night.

Taking things with a grain of salt, this is more for guest to check into before reserving, but not an overall take on the place. As of May 2021, I am assuming the company is taking the Covid time to redo their rooms. Thus, when my husband and I came to ours, it was on the back side of the hotel and almost all the rooms around us were torn apart and we were not sure what we would find in ours. To our welcome, the floor was redone, BUT there was a LOT of smoking fumes (aka smoking in or around our room). Having health concerns in this area, we dealt for the night—but I wanted to warn others!!! If you cannot deal with smoke smell, do not go here right now. Other more minor concerns, at this time, were that the TV did not work, the toilet was stained, and the smoke detector was there but not up on the wall yet. The bed was descent though, the room was overall clean, and the shower was also in good condition. I think when they get done it will be for the betterment of the whole I just wish it was a lower rate currently due to what is going on and the concerns.

This was an older La Quinta and not up to the standards we usually receive at other La Quintas. The breakfast wasn’t much and did not provide the choices available at other La Quintas. The rooms were old and in definite need of renovation. The price of the room definitely reflected our feelings of a lesser la Quinta.

This hotel was conveniently located right off the highway, but the room was filthy, the clientele questionable, and the trash outside in all the trashcans unacceptable. The cans were overflowing,and there were empty cases of beer and cans under the steps and around the motel. People were getting high on the second floor balcony, the pool was disgusting, and there was a sticky substance all over the carpet of the room we stayed in. I almost slept in the car, but we had too much luggage in there and there wasn't any space for me to sleep. I did bring my own pillows, because theirs were horrendous, and I slept on top of my own blankets I had in the car. I got practically no sleep and couldn't get out of the place fast enough in the morning. I feel like I should receive a refund, because of the filth. I did disinfect everything with wipes I carry in the car as soon as we entered the room, and also sprayed the place down with Lysol I had brought with me. They should have paid us to sleep there. Horrible, Terrible place.

I am over sixty, we travel often, and this is one of the worse places we have ever stayed.
Key card worked once and that was all. Took maintenance over two hours to come and replace batteries in the lock. (When we went to lock the deadbolt before going to sleep, it did not function at all)
The room itself seemed quite clean, but smelled otherwise. Just thought it was because the A/C had not been turned on and the room was closed up.
We travel with two small dogs and this hotel is pet friendly, and though our dogs are potty trained and well behaved, apparently many dogs that people travel with are not. The extremely stained carpet was evidence of that, and I am sure they were also the reason the bad smell never dissipated.
We slept without blankets, because the room never cooled down. The bed linens were fresh and clean, and so was the bathroom. The furniture was old and worn and in serious need of replacement. (The mattress was so worn out that I felt like I was sleeping in a hole and on a slant.)
I kept my white socks on when I went to bed, and needless to say, they were not white after a few trips across the carpet to the bathroom. YUCK!!
There are water stains on the ceiling, mildew on all of the doors, and the window was cracked too.
Just don’t stay here. Find a park bench or sleep in your car if you have to, but drive on by.
We checked in late and or would have checked out and tried to find another place to stay.
We left early.

Dirty,out dated, stained carpet, mold, dirty bedding, odor through out building, area is not good for solo travel. Corporate should review this property and require it to be brought up to standards. Last month stayed in a la quinta in tupelo and the difference is night and day and paid the same rate.

I come to Pensacola on business about 5 times a year.

I have stayed at several hotels, including Marriott, Comfort Inn and other well known chains.

When I was in the hotel management business 25 years ago, La Quinta was considered clean, safe, and a good value, low priced hotel. I based my stay at this hotel on that reputation.

Obviously, things have changed for the worse in the past 25 years. This hotel is very poorly maintained, and shabby.

During my stay, there was only one working ice machine. The exterior of the hotel was in disrepair, with lots of rust and peeling paint in evidence. The door of my room was covered in spots of rust, mold, or mildew, very difficult to tell which. May have been all three.

The fixtures in my bathroom were dingy, it was hard to tell if they were just old, or hadn't been cleaned properly in years. The AC was very noisy, and every time the compressor kicked on or off, there was a very noticeable thump. This AC is not going to cool the room when warm weather gets here, it barely kept it comfortable with an outside temperature of 60 degrees. The dresser in my room was falling apart, with obvious water damage.

The part of town where the hotel is located isn't great, but a clean, well maintained property gives you a sense of security. Between the condition of the hotel and the neighborhood, I did not feel safe.

I honestly don't know how this hotel keeps their franchise, unless this is representative of the La Quinta brand as a whole;

Do yourself a favor. If you're coming to Pensacola, avoid this hotel. There is a Comfort Inn, a Holiday Inn, and several Marriotts nearby. Might cost a little more, but it will be worth it. I have stayed at most of them, and they are all much nicer than this hotel.

I definitely will never stay at this hotel again, and probably will avoid La Quinta altogether in the future.

Clean rooms, Easy check-in, Great price, Great location. If you need a stop along the way, or just a place to stay for a couple of nights, the La Quinta Pensacola is a good place to stay. Besides the very clean room, a welcome bonus was the front desk person, Elizabeth, who actually handled our reservation on the phone and was the first to greet us. She did everything very efficiently and made our check-in quick and effortless. I would go here again just because Elizabeth did such an outstanding job handling our reservation. And the La Quinta is just next to a 24-hour Denny's, so it's convenient for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Overall: A+ to La Quinta Pensacola.

To charge $ 86.00 plus tax for this room is ridiculous. During this time with Corona Virus, the room was not clean.... we were so tired it was just easier to clean the room ourselves than to go back to the front desk and move rooms, or just change hotels; There was a cobweb in the corner of the room with a crain fly caught in the web; the floor was dirty and there was either chocolate pieces or leaf debris on the floor; there was paint splatters all over the floor; the shower head was only 5' 6" and I am 6'; the door would not close properly, I had to use all my strength to get the door to lock; The previous guest in this room had shoved a tissue or something in the door peep hole as they felt this hotel was so sketchy; The parking lot has craters the size of the grand canyon telling me the owner is not putting any money back into this hotel; The toilet flush valve needs to be changed as the toilet ran on and off all night; Oh and on top of everything else for our $86.00 plus tax, no breakfast, nothing , nada, zip, and to not put this info out on the Wyndham website and hide this from Whyndham rewards members looking for a place to stay.! This hotel is awefull! This hotel does not need to be in La Quinta chain or La Quinta standards have changed since they joined the Wyndham family of hotels, unless Wyndham wants their chain of hotels to just be the nasty chain! I chose to just checkout and leave rather than complain about all the issues with the property and the room. I figured the person at the front desk at checkout was just an employee and trying to make a living, figured he could not do anything and I knew I would get a survey and I could voice my opinion on the survey about this property.

They were having a major remodel going that we were not aware of. They staff would tell us one thing but then not follow through. Ex. We would have towels ASAP we never received any additional towels from the first time we asked

You can take i-69 and that takes you to the bridge,where there is a toll of $I.00 to cross to the beach. It should take 20-25 minutes.
