Came here 11th Aug for a week with 2 other families we stayed in the wigwams, I have been before & recommended it to our friends, as we had a fantastic time last time, don’t get me wrong we still Had a good time as we had friends with us, but I don’t think Our experience would have been the same had it just been my family!!. We didn’t feel like we should be there as we was English my son lives in Germany and him & his family joined us for the weekend and they had a different welcome as they spoke German. There’s lots to do, we ventured out and about too, would benefit having leaflets in reception or shops for other places to explore. PROS * excellent theme park for all age groups Aqua mexicana was great when the slides was open Well stocked shop on site Food & drink places are plentiful Wigwam was a great experience stocked well Outdoor kids pool CONS would benefit a play park near accommodation Food & drink closed when theme park closed Shop closed pretty early too Didn’t feel very welcomed us being English

We have enjoyed attraction and vacation park very much. The indoor ice skating ⛸ was the best addition to the Theme-park. It was our 4th visit in 6 years. Over the years the real🐴 horses were replaced by more attractions. I like to enjoy the evening light parade and fireworks 💥. We stayed in a Yellowstone cottage. Perfect vacation.

From the outside it looks like an old western theme park but it is modern and like any other amusementpark. There are too many shops and slot machines for our taste. We only found one shop that sold ice cream in waffles with 12 diferent flavours. All the other ice cream shops only had softice.

It was a nice park, at some places the music was to loud. Correct price for snacks. We had to travel 3 hours one way and in this case I would not advice it. We dit also the mexican pool. I can't tell if it is old or new. It was very clean and well maintained, but very dark (roof), concrete floor and pools (? !) and for me, as a parent not much to do.

We had a comfortable stay for three days at Nevada Lodge as one day at Slagharen is simply not enough to enjoy each attraction. It was reasonably clean but somewhat dusty with spider nets. It looked like it was not cleaned properly for a long time. Yet, it is the ultimate amusement park to have fun, both for families with children and for friends. Founded in 1963 as a small pony park, it is one of the most visited places in Europe with more than 80 hectares. It offers over 4500 beds in bungalows, luxury lodges, wigwams, and caravan sites. With over 30 rides, 10 water slides, 2 swimming pools, other attractions and shows to see, everyone is sure to get the enjoyment of an unforgettable holiday. Children have endless fun at the theme park and resort. A non-smoking park, there are several family restaurants which serve delicious dinners. There’s also a supermarket on site. The homes are right at the doorstep of the park making it accessible as and when one desires to move around. The attractions are operated by very friendly and helpful staff, particularly towards children and disabled people. Overall, we had a nice experience.

This place is far from Amsterdam about 2 hours drive. The theme of place is based on wild western (American frontier). The time limit is 10am till 6pm and for waterpark 10 to 20pm. If you want to have a chance to try all attractions, you sould be there at 10 in the morning. The price of food and beverage slightly high price (2.80€ for a coke 330ml) Overall,it was good experience. If you have any further questions, you can ask me! Have a great day :)

We had nice three days holiday in the attraction park and Hacienda cottage. Overall we had nice experience. The park is really meant for kids younger than 10 years. If you kids are older than 10 I think the park has limited attractions for them. The perfect age I believe is between 4 and 10 to have wow experience. My son (6 years) was really happy and enjoyed it. We also visited the Tropicana water park and we had a good day there. The pools are for smaller kids, the big pool has only 1,2 depth and was really crowded. If your budget allows and of course if they are available (which was not in our case) book the Nevada cottage. They look new and better than the rest. Our Hacienda type needs real renovation. I was disappointed of the maintenance. Everything was really old fashion and ready to be replaced. I guess you only rely on the cleaning of the previous guests, because our cottage was reasonably clean but full of dust and spider nets. It looked like was not cleaned properly for long time. For the price we paid because they were on discount was reasonable. If you need to pay the full amount that is on their website then I would avoid it. Also some things like reception and information are not really logically placed in the park because you need to exit the park to go to reception or if you want to ask something at the information desk. That means you need to queue again to enter the park and wait if it is crowded. Options for food are really limited. Half of the restaurants were not working and the other half are closing really early. So if you stay in accommodations be prepared. There is a local shop to buy things but it is only open until 17:00. I was not really happy with the service in the restaurants and the stuff, they are not so friendly and it looks like they do not want to work there. Some of them were event talking to you like you owe them 100 euros and they do not want to business with you.

We’ve visited Slagharen both in September and October 2018. In September we stayed there with a Groupon coupon and slept for 2 days in a Cowboy Cottage. The accommodation was okay, a bit old, but clean. The pull-out couch meant for adults though should certainly be changed because its surface isn’t straight anymore and it squeaks when moving a finger. The park, due to the fact that school season had started and the weather wasn’t that awesome, was basically empty. We could stay sit on rides and never needed to stand in line. I liked the consistent theming but found it a pity that most food and beverage outlets and shops were closed. Also, many rides that my 2 year old son could take in another attraction park, was forbidden for him to take here. The evening show for overnight guests was fun, the Red Bandit actor (the guy with a pony) did his utmost to entertain. Dinner and breakfast buffets were also fine, though quite pricy. We all loved the water park; it’s really creative and entertaining. Unfortunately our return wasn’t that much fun anymore. We too my mother with us and stayed in a Racoon Lodge which is of much higher quality than the Cowboy Cottage, but it takes a bit longer to walk to the park. We arrived on a Saturday when apparently an insurance company rented out the whole park. We’ve received no information forehand about the changed check-in location and all the organizers from the insurance company had no idea where to direct us and claimed that we were not even supposed to be there (although we paid close to €400 for a night’s stay). When mentioning this issue during check-in the receptionist lady grumpily told us that we were supposed to check a sub-menu on the website where events are indicated. Honestly, who does that...? I went directly to the booking page and the process went thru, therefore I supposed that we will be welcomed. Although the park was only open for the insurance company’s guests and overnight guests, it was LOADED. I’ve been in Disneyland and I can confidently say that the crowd was comparable. We managed to sit on only 3 rides the whole day. In the evening we headed to the dinner location indicated on our dinner voucher, however we found the restaurant closed. An employee who was cleaning there directed us to the temporary dinner location (change had been made for this event). There we were told that in our envelope there was a paper explaining everything about this day including the location change, but after reading thru this leaflet several times, we could still not find this information. The evening program with another actor being the Red Bandit was also a disappointment. Both him and his side-kick disappeared mid-dance and left the playback version songs on for the kids to dance alone (kid disco). All in all, Slagharen is a really nice place, but communication was horror. I wish we would have not gone back that soon so the first experience would be the one to remember of.

What a disappointment! Very unfriendly staff that is totally not flexible. Our daughter is 3.5 years and 94cm and with her height she could hardly go anywhere. What she could do was under the guidance of an adult. Even the smallest and slow merry-go-rounds had to be crammed into a parent. In itself not very bad but for a child of 3.5 and 5.5 is tough to occasionally without daddy and mommy somewhere to go. When you are also pointed out in a blunt way by the employee, then the fun is quickly finished. The attractions are dated. In itself it is not a problem, but next to the entrance of the park you have to pay extra for a large part of the attractions. Finally, I would not advise to go in the autumn or on a rainy day because you can almost never sit dry / inside / eat.
