We did not see the fine print on the hotel website about a policy change for next year. They cancelled our reservation because we had a child. However exceptions were made for other guests with children. Bummer.

Hi James, I'm sorry to see that you cancelled your reservation. The decision to become a "adult only" property (age 16 and above) was made after so many of our guests complained about children taking away from the quiet ambiance of the property. Unfortunately a historic property does not lend itself to young children especially with hardwood floors and wooden steps. I apologize that we couldn't accommodate you this time but hope you will consider us when you visit again. Happy holidays, Charlie

The staff and location were excellent, in the heart of St. Austin’s. But the rooms in a shared house bed and breakfast style home were too loud. We could hear our neighbors walking and talking. And the price was WAAAY too expensive ($475/night) for this room.

Hi there "238..." Yes, sometimes historic buildings (18th-19th century) can be a bit noisy. The original glass windows are not very sound deadening, but they are authentic. By the price you indicate, you must have been in a one-bedroom suite which during high season in comparable to other inns and hotels. As in all hotels, the rates fluctuate by day, season and events. I hope you will come back and visit us again and try one of the other 9 buildings. Happy Holidays, Charlie

We booked three nights at The Collector while visiting St Augustine for our daughters wedding. What a wonderful experience. The Collector is a group of vintage homes, carriage house, well house and general store all built in the 1700’s, 1800’s and very early 1900’s. The gardens

I can’t tell from the webpage how you would accommodate a family of six. Two couples and two children.
We would recommend booking two our our suites in order to accomodate 6 people, we do not have any accommodations that would fit 6 people in one room.

Your best to give them a call or email them. Sorry I could not help.

Do you have designated smoking areas on the property or allowed outside of the rooms?
Hi, smoking is allowed anywhere outdoors on the property, just not in the rooms or any indoor space. Ashtrays are provided by both firepits and around the outdoor bar seating,

How does your hotel handle parking ? Thank you.
Hello, we have valet parking that is included in the $30 per night amenity fee that is included with each reservation (as well as our European Continental breakfast, bottled water, historic tours of the property 3x a week, bicycles and a few other treats throughout the property).
