My family and three others have been camping at Ft De Soto campground on presidents weekend for the last three years. The volunteers that keep this place preserved and beautiful are what makes this place so special. The grounds are clean. I don't ever see trash anywhere The view is fantastic. With camping at the site you get a ticket... More

Beautiful park to camp in. So much to do and such a clean and well attended campground. We went for Christmas and it was such fun seeing all the different lights in the campsites. Kayaking off our campsite was just amazing! Beautiful sunsets! Seeing the dolphins jumping was also a special treat. We had 2 adjoining site right on the... More

I'm not a HUGE fan of camping and this seemed to have the best of both worlds. Two families went and we shared a tent site. We brought the kids bikes and I highly recommend doing that - lots of trails and wide open areas to explore. There's also a playground and nice little beaches to play in along the... More

We were visiting Orlando for the Christmas break and wanted a beach experience. We were wavering between St. Petes and Cocoa. St Pete's seemed to have much higher ratings but the drive seemed to be the kicker. From our VRBO is seemed like it was only about 30 more minutes to St Pete's so off we went. The first day... More

There are lots of sites right on the water. And the campground is not far from ocean beaches - 15 min easy bike ride or quick drive. It was clean, shaded, the trees and foliage in between sites made it feel private. LOTS of birds. We sat on our waterfront site and watched for manatees as the fish jumped and... More

Well the campground is not directly on the gulf but is on the intercostal waterway. Stayed in the campground for a few days and one time for two weeks (that's the limit). We love it there. Even if the campground is full to capacity it's not crowded. The shower houses are adequate and pretty well maintained, after all it's a... More

I've been going to Fort Desoto campground for years and still love going there to camp. They have nice size lots with privacy between sites. They have a camp store for all your camping needs, you can order a pizza or have ice cream on site. The raccoon population is much less than years past. A nice place to relax,... More

We tried tent camping here for the first time in many years. Have to say we loved it. The campsite has electric and running water which is a plus. Weather was perfect. Clear skies so we got to see the stars and meteor shower. Our campsite was good size and had plenty of shade. We went fishing at both of... More

Very nice view from our campsite. The bathrooms could use an update. Although the rules state no alcohol, there where a lot of people openly drinking and the next morning, openly throwing up and peeing off the sea wall. I'm just glad my daughter and nephew didn't see it. The only down side is there is no where to go... More
