We spend 2 nights here and it was very nice! RV camping sites are located inside the park. Clean toilets and bathrooms. Very friendly staff. When you stay in the RV park you can visit the park for free.
There are not many campgrounds with sites as interesting, varied & individual as this. The bay & its lagoons are everywhere. Camp store is very modest but it rents firepits. Bring your own wood. The wind can be cold & uproot tents & chairs in...More
This campground is quite excellent and I doubt you could find a better campground in the area. You do need to plan in advance or you will be left wanting more.

I have loved this campground for years. Nowadays we need electric hookup and this place has it. The spaces are spacious. The cleanup crew comes in after campers leave to prepare for the next ones. Just about like in a hotel! They even rake the...More

I would not attempt it with a child. Between winds picking up suddenly that can cause rough waves, and some very strong tidal currents, it is not advisable or safe. I have kayaked from the campground over to Shell Key many times, and am a very experienced kayaker, and I have struggled against strong tidal currents and winds. We have had several deaths in the channel from inexperienced swimmers drowning due to the strong currents and people getting caught in high waves and overturning when the winds kick up. Not worth the risk.
