Great location in walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Miramar beach was only 10 minute drive from the hotel. Kudos to the exceptional staff that worked on Saturday the 14th through Monday the 16th!! Breakfast was good too and lots of options!

This was my first "Covid" hotel stay. Safety measures were fine except the breakfast needed to be a little more "touchless" regarding the beverages. The "restaurant" is a joke with about 5 things on the menu but the Grand Boulevard shops and restaurants are a 5 min walk away. They provided a "solid surface" wipe in the room which was nice, but wish it was more prominently displayed and more than 1 given. There is also reduced housekeeping services - I was there 2 nights and my room wasn't serviced, which is fine - I didn't really want anyone in my room. They offered to bring fresh towels or anything else you might need. Overall a pleasant experience.

We came down for some warm weather and were so glad we chose this hotel. It's beautifully decorated (we've stayed at many Hyatt Places and this is the nicest) and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful.

The hotel also followed corporate guidelines for masking and sanitizer and limiting elevator occupancy. We felt very good about this after another stay in the area that was less compliant.

Our room was sizeable and featured a nice couch and desk area along with a mini fridge. Everything was clean and fresh. There was a microwave in the lobby available for use and the bar/restaurant was open each night. The pool didn't seem to be very busy, but it was cool out. I liked that there were tables to eat at inside overlooking the pool as well as outside by the pool. There are a couple computers available in the lobby along with a printer.

Parking is a breeze and plentiful and the complimentary breakfast was more than we were expecting in pandemic times. There is also a cute small cafe in the building with more options for breakfast and lunch. The hotel itself is located at the beginning of a larger shopping area and there are a multitude of restaurants and places to dine outdoors or indoors / sit down upscale or casual. A grocery store is also in the complex.

Every single time we walked by a staff member we were greeted with a "hello" or "have a nice day" which was great. I happened to pass a maintenance person in the hall and mentioned a light bulb was out further down and he fixed it right away.

If you're in this area, I can say this is an EXCELLENT choice for a safe and comfortable stay. You'll be well taken care of.

Stayed 4 nights end of April first part of May. I'll start with the positive. Hotel is centrally located 15 to 20 min drive either direction depending on traffic. To the left seaside and grayton beaches a little more of a expensive area but very nice. To the right destin beaches more family oriented and more affordable. The hotel is very clean, quiet and parking is very secure. Now the negative. There is no housekeeping services offered, we were not told this at check in. If you want fresh towels you have to place outside your door daily, same with trash. Breakfast is the typical pandemic breakfast, very limited. They do have a Cafe type eating place , very small and extremely expensive with a limited menu. Overall nice hotel but would not stay again for lack of services, we paid 1300.00 for 4 nights and for that I believe you should be looked after alot more.

My family and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Place Sandestin to enjoy a long overdue vacation. When looking at reviews of hotels in the area, this hotel seemed to be the best, but that initial impression quickly changed after we arrived and found the room we were placed in smelled like vomit! We quickly went down to the front desk to escalate and the night manager told us he was well aware of the situation and that it wasn’t vomit but instead it was yogurt that spilled in the fridge and leaked onto the carpet underneath. He said they had cleaned it that day and thought it would be better but instead of any member of their leadership team checking to verify if the room was ready for customers they just let us show up at 10pm after plane delays with our 4 kids to experience a vomit smelling room. When we asked for a new room they said unfortunately they were all booked up which makes the first point about leadership allowing guests to check in to a knowingly unclean/poor smelling room even more outrageous. The night manager gave us a can of Zep saying this is what they use to fight odors in rooms from smoke and such. After handing us that spray it seemed to be less of the staffs problem as their was no follow up to the situation during our trip. This only makes me question the leadership and the cleanliness of Hyatts rooms. We stayed for 4 nights in a vomit smelling room and to top it all off no follow up was done by the site management after they had told us they would speak with us the next day. I am very disappointed in my experience and it is unfortunate that my family had to suffer through a very avoidable situation if the hotel had better leadership and cleanliness standards.

The room was very clean and the hotel staff was pleasant. There was no housekeeping services during our stay due to COVID restrictions, so our trash was not taken out daily. However, there was an extra trash bag left, so our trash was not overflowing. The complimentary breakfast selection was less than satisfactory, so we ate elsewhere for breakfast. Also, the snacks in the hotel were very overpriced in comparison to stores, but I guess that is common with most hotels. Overall, the stay was very comfortable.

Pros:
nice rooms
Free breakfast
Close to Publix
Responsive staff
Nice gym
Next to Baytown Wharf (some fun activities and lots of restaurants)
Free music at a small park within walking distance
Ladies at the front desk were always friendly
and helpful
Free wifi

Cons:
Surrounded by high end stores (makes no sense since this isn’t a Ritz Carlton)
Next to Baytown Wharf(traffic when trying to get to the hotel is ridiculous at times because if all the cars trying to get into Baytown)
Too far from the beach (cheaper or similarly priced options right on the beach, across or even closer) says 6 minute drive when there are lots if people it can easily take 15-20 min.
Breakfast-diced potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage (they alternate) pancakes or French toast (alternated)

Small pool(pics in their site makes it look bigger)
Microwave not in all rooms
Microwave out in eating area after

I’m a Hyatt rewards member and will continue to use Hyatt, but for Destin, never again. There are condos right on the beach for about the same price but when considering the gas driving back and forth, convenience, and ability to have a kitchenette/kitchen for longer stays it is worth it. (They won’t be familiar names, although there are a few other hotels closer, but a few condos are Mediterránea, Seascape, Majestic Sun and all have rooms facing the beach with a balcony). Staying on or across the street from the beach is also important because in the free public access beaches parking is a pain. You spend too much time waiting for a parking spot. Many of the condos on the beach have private access beaches. Shopping, restaurants and anything in between are also much easier to get to from the beach (Can also rent a golf cart to get around)

I recommended this location if you’re staying for a couple days, but for longer stays there more convenient options. Avoid any room by the ice machine.

Hyatt Place Sandestin was great! Super clean hotel, hand sanitizer everywhere you turned around, They were constantly wiping down every square inch of the lobby and pubic areas. The rooms/bathrooms were super clean and spacious. The breakfast was a waste in my opinion but I also get that it's not easy to serve a free breakfast during these Covid times.

My family of 7 vacationed in Destin for the 4th of July. We usually stay in a condo on the beach for a week but this year we couldn’t stay in Destin as long due to having to be back for work so we opted to stay at Hyatt Sandestin 4 days after reading pretty good reviews on Trip advisor. I’m glad we stayed here. The location is tucked away from high traffic but still close to plenty of restaurants and shopping. The hotel was clean on arrival and staff were friendly. We booked 2 rooms since it was a lot of us. My adult girls stayed in a double Queen and my husband and I along with our smaller kids stayed in the One bedroom King Suite with a pull out sofa. It was very clean,
roomy and also had a kitchen. Housekeeping came every other day but you could request towels or extra bedding whenever it was needed and they were prompt in bringing it to our room. My smaller kids enjoyed playing in the hotel pool most of the trip. They also have a lobby bar area where they serve a very good breakfast each morning between 6:30-9:30am. They pretty much have anything you would need for a satisfactory breakfast. There’s a happy hour in the evenings in the same lobby bar area from around 5pm-7pm daily. They also serve food like burgers, pesto chicken sandwiches, salads, etc. from the bar kitchen from 5pm-10pm. We enjoyed our stay and would most definitely stay here again in the future.

The beaches on 30-A are just minutes away. It takes longer to get to the public beach at Miramar because of traffic caused by construction.
