This is becoming our annual January get away. The place is full of Canadians visiting via their Timeshare. We feel very safe and comfortable here.
The staff is outstanding. Dean responded within an hour to resolve a lighting issue, Arron was the best front desk guy ever. Always a warm welcome and helped when my wife took a spill on the sidewalk.
The grounds were in great shape except one of the hot tubs is waiting for repair parts. The other hot tub was running OK.
Looking forward to our next trip maybe this fall.

Extremely courteous and clean hotel! The minute you walk in you will notice the cleaness throughout. There are so much to do just in the condo. The pool is amazing. Walking trail and the pier is lovely. Beach is just a five minute drive which they have their own set up of umbrellas and chairs and free parking. Sanitizing gel and wipes on site in front of elevators. Dryer washer free to use on each floor. Just feels so much at home ! I have never been this satisfied. Well deserves every penny spent!

I was a little apprehensive about coming here after reading some negative reviews, but now that I’ve come here I can honestly say that anyone who posts anything negative is probably either a Karen or someone who doesn’t want you to come here, because they want to keep this little gem all to themselves.
I’ve stayed at Hyatt’s , Marriott’s and other high end vacation exchange resorts. I’d put this one up there with the best. As good of service as you would expect at a Marriott and vastly superior than Hyatt.
Even though the resort is not on the beach ( convenient free shuttle bus takes you to beach) the Bay views are spectacular, with beautiful swimming pools and immaculate grounds.
The rooms are up to date , very clean and spacious.
Highly recommend!

OK, this will be sort of long. I am amazed at these positive reviews. We did like a few things about this resort: courteous staff, beautiful lobby, pleasant pool area. What we did not like: first of all, I had originally made a reservation for a 1 bedroom bay view suite. I had paid to upgrade to a 2 bedroom. We were sent to a 2 bedroom second floor condo with a view of the parking lot. Outdoor furniture was very dirty. TV in the bedroom did not work. The front desk staff had said to ask about moving the day after Labor Day. My husband went down and asked on Tuesday morning and was told the decision could not be made until "after midnight." So I went down on Tuesday morning, talked with the manager, who finally relented and gave us a 2 bedroom unit with a side view. I repeatedly mentioned that we have been Diamond Resort owners for 11 years; first, the manager told me that Embarc was an entirely different timeshare. She then told me that they are only owned by Diamond. So I checked Diamond's web site and guess what? Embarc Sandestin is listed as a Diamond Florida destination. The furniture in the room was awful, old, beat-up and drawers did not work. Kitchen cabinets were dingy and old. The ride to the beach (this resort is NOT on the beach) was a hassle and you had to go to a very crowded and noisy public beach. Pool area was nice; however, it was covered with ants and the landscaping was poorly maintained (weeds growing up through pavers, dead leaves, etc.). We had a family gathering at the pool and my 4-year-old grandniece stepped in an any hill and had her foot stung in several places. I also noticed a lot of ants in the grill area. Sandestin is a beautiful area, skip this place and go somewhere better. It has been billed as a "luxury resort." We are also Marriott owners and we know a luxury resort when we see one. One other thing: DO NOT BUY INTO DIAMOND RESORTS. Their properties are subpar and they do not care about their owners. If you want to own a timeshare, get in touch with Marriott–they know what true luxury and customer service is all about.

We checked in on 9/29. Room 201. Due to COVID policy changes, I asked what the housekeeping arrangements were (we had a five night stay). I was told service was actually being resumed 10/1. On 10/1 I stopped at the front desk and said we didn't need service that day. Was told the service was actually resuming 10/2. I pointed out that there were several stains on our couch that needed attention but didn't have to be done during our stay and was met with a blank stare. I stopped at the front desk on 10/2 and said we could probably use some housekeeping service. (Our trash was getting full, and we had a towel problem due to a leak with the shower.) Towels and trash. That's all. I was then told we had to order something like that the day before. Huh? The shower flooded the bathroom floor. The water ran along the top edge of the tub by the spigot, even with the shower curtain in place. We adjusted the head and stuffed towels along the top edge to prevent the floods. I think the tub was installed crooked, creating a drainage problem. We were hanging the soaked towels up to dry in order to reuse them but that takes two days+ in Florida. I asked for some extra towels twice and they were delivered to the room fairly promptly. They don't have them at the front desk. When I checked out I again mentioned the stains on the couch (they really were very obvious) and the front desk staff apologized profusely, which is what I would normally expect at a Marriott. We left a mountain of towels in the bathroom and full trash cans. Breakfast was fine albeit the same thing every day. A full hot breakfast with cold options, also. Definitely not a grab and go. Facility was generally nice. Note-this is a pet-friendly hotel. There were LOTS of pets. BTW if it's raining there isn't any overhang out front. Plan on getting wet.

We stayed a total of five nights at the resort and really enjoyed it. It has a full kitchen with all the basic necessities, pool, kayak and private beach area. The only downside was the tv’s in the room which are super small. Also we did not know that the rooms are not cleaned during the stay. However, they provided fresh towels on our third day. The rooms are also slightly outdated and the bathrooms didn’t seem very clean. I would suggest taking your own cleaning and sanitizing supplies.

Everything about this place is top quality. From the room, the staff, the theater, the pools, the location, the amenities, everything we experienced here was first class. We met up with family who were staying in other condos on the beach and they all agreed that our resort was much more comfortable, cleaner and enjoyable.

Nice resort in an awesome location we loved loved the private gated community full with golf courses and amenities like the Baytowne Wharf and Marina and Jolee island right out back. The resort was a small property so it was not as busy as some larger resorts. We had the entire pool area to ourself one night felt like a private back yard escape. The furniture looks a bit dated in the pictures but the whole place is going for the retro feel so it is intentional. Will definitely stay again when in The Destin Area.

Embarc is a relaxed and inviting resort giving you a feel of being right at home from the moment you enter the lobby with the greeting of "Welcome Home" from the staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. Everything you need for a quick meal, except the food is supplied in the kitchen. The baths even provide shampoo and body wash. The pools and surrounding areas are beautifully surrounded with trees and vegetation giving it a very natural look. There is a nice grilling area with four grills as well as a play area for children. If you are needing a place to just relax in comfort this is it.

This property has not been maintained to the standards of which it was originally built. Embarc Sandestin is located in a lovely spot on the resort grounds. The exterior appearances are appealing and enjoyable. The pool deck and surrounding areas are exceptional and provide a restful environment. The building interior, specifically the guest rooms, are worn and tired. The mattress in the primary bedroom of our 2br unit had significant "divots" in the locations that guests would generally sleep in...mattress had become very "soft & mushy" in said areas. The overhead lighting in the kitchen would intermittently dim before becoming bright again many minutes later. This is highly noticeable as lighting in the units is less than desirable to begin with. Having been a guest at the property when it opened and a returning guest throughout the years, this property is not being maintained to the standards of which it was built.

How long does it take to walk to beach?
Answer from nwaoffspring
Kirkland, Washington14 contributions2 helpful votes
Getting to the gulf coast beach is approximately a 1.5 to 2 mile trek. Because everyone walks at different speeds I will say it could take anywhere from 25 minutes to 45 minutes. There is a free shuttle within the Sandestin complex that I believe makes stops near the beaches but one would want to confirm that with the front desk. Hope this reply is helpful.
