Detailed Reviews
I checked in Sunday 9/27/21. I was greeted with a personal handwritten note thanking me for my loyalty as well as a gift bag of snacks. I checked in to my room and everything was immaculate. Housekeeping took extra time in folding the towels in to nice shapes and the bath mat in to a shell shape. There were a lot of little things that made me think of a More luxurious hotel.
The pool area was relaxing and clean. It was a pleasure to come back to the hotel after work. The bed was comfortable. The area was very nice with many different restaurants to choose from. All of the employees were friendly and attentive. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. I really hope I have the opportunity to return. It was a very pleasant stay.

Great hotel near Grand Street entertainment and shopping area. Quiet hotel with great beds! Friendly staff! Not too far from the beach, but a car is needed, Nice pool. Breakfast is not included but there is a bistro to purchase breakfast, snacks or light dinner.

We had a great stay at this location recently. From Jamar (? spelling) making us feel welcome to celebrate an early anniversary and the ladies at the Bistro for making a great breakfast to start each morning, we enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and no issues. Felt safe that Covid safety measures were being followed and plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere. Would recommend this location to travelers.

Checked in for a one night stay. Hotel had some issues with the hurricane so they were working on the lobby. Only one small elevator and sign on elevator said “One person or family per elevator.” To get food service you had to go to your room and call on the hotel phone to order and then get back on the elevator to pick it up. It made no sense. It’s a great location and we decided to stay for three more days and reserved the rest of our stay on line. When I stopped by the desk I was told there would be no housekeeping service. It was a way to protect everyone from COVID-19. I was told to put our dirty towels and trash in the hallway and I could wait in the room for fresh ones or they could open the door and put them on the floor for us. If I wanted clean sheets they would give them to me and I could make my bed and put the dirty sheets on the floor in the hall. When I said how crazy this was, I had stayed in Marriott’s in different areas in the past 3 weeks and at no time were we told our rooms couldn’t be cleaned, I was told at the desk that it was because they were a franchise and they were given a choice and they chose not to clean the rooms to keep everyone safe. How does putting dirty laundry and trash in the hallway keep people safe from COVID-19? They cleaned the rooms when people checked out. If you are saving your employees from Covid germs you need to leave the rooms locked with no one going in for 48 hours. Two of the housekeepers were in the hall with masks down around their necks. This hotel has this policy so they save money and don’t have to pay their housekeeping staff. Marriott really needs to look at the franchise.

Hi Barbara, Thank you for the review and feedback. I understand your disappointment regarding some of the changes we've had to implement due to COVID-19. We are a franchise location and we are permitted to cancel or provide services as we feel are necessary for the safety of our staff and guests. Giving our guests the best experience possible is still our top priority while maintaining social distancing protocols. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. This was a disappointing experience for our one night stay. Staff was friendly but the room and hotel lacked in every way. To start, we wiped down the room with wipes and after wiping the coffee table the wipe was black. There was a spot of blood on the curtains and the carpet was nasty. The air conditioner ran all night even though the thermostat had already reached temperature. The toilet ran off and on through the night as well. Embarrassed to take my family here and for what they were charging should have been much better.

This hotel is an average beach property with no amenities. As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, we expected that our complimentary annual room would not be surrounded by the elevator shaft where we could hear the elevator move up and down constantly. We do pay an annual fee for this one “free” room a year and you are at their mercy as no usual requests such as top floor, etc are considered. I did ask to be moved after tolerating the noise for an hour and guess what? They had other rooms available that night! Needless to say, we have canceled our Marriott membership.

Hi V8263OObarbs, Thank you for the review and for being a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member. I understand your frustration regarding the location of the first suite. I apologize for the inconvenience of moving, but I hope you enjoyed the new location. We pride ourselves on each guest having a fantastic experience, and it seems here we missed the mark. I do hope on your next trip to Sandestin you consider staying with us again and allowing us to exceed your expectations. Tania Koehler General Manager

Construction plastic hanging from the ceiling,, terrible limited breakfast choices, no tables and chairs to eat the limited breakfast, food/restaurant area closed, Bar closed, fire alarms in the middle of the night, mask requirements inside of the hotel, for a hotel in Florida, a state which currently has no mask requirements. No maid service. I think it is poor business practice to shut down all of your amenities, and continue taking money from people just the same. If you are this concerned about Covid you should just shut down the hotel completely. I paid a lot more to stay in this hotel because of the amenities, if I knew you had shut everything down I would have stayed somewhere else and I will do so next time.

Hi Adventure611023, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review and feedback. Due to COVID and for the safety of our guests and staff, we have limited our housekeeping services in order to lessen the amount of contact. We are more than happy to provide you with a fresh set of linens, but we, unfortunately, would not be able to enter your room. While the Grab-and-Go options are not our signature breakfast offerings, we take the health and wellbeing of our guests and staff very seriously and hope you understand the changes. Our rates are reflective of the limited amenities available. We look forward to returning to our normal operating standards and providing our guests with all the amenities they expect. We do hope on your next trip to South Walton, that you consider staying with us again. Tania Koehler General Manager

The hotel we normally stay at was booked for Labor Day weekend and we decided last minute to make a trip to the beach. We stayed 5 nights.
The good:
Hotel has been completely renovated except for the tile. It looks nice.
Beds are comfortable.
Rooms are quiet.
We had a view of the green space and a pond.
Front Desk staff was very friendly and greeted us every time we came back and wished us well as we left.
I needed a bottle of wine opened and the bar staff happily helped.
The not so good:
Towels. The policy is to "freshen" the rooms every other day (towels and trash) and on the 4th night "clean" the room. This does NOT work. They only left 3 bath towels in the room for 2 days. If both of you work out and shower in the morning and then spend the day at the beach and shower before dinner, you are no where near having enough towels. The air-conditioning kicks off without movement, so while you are gone all day you return to wet towels. We found that we spent way too much time asking for towels in the hallway from the cleaning staff servicing other rooms.
The A/C kicks off without movement. You wake up in the night to a warm room.
The elevators are ridiculously slow. There are only 2. One on each end. We alternated to which ever had the shortest line. We were there after the crowds left for the long weekend and they were still very annoying.
Hot water. Had to wait every shower after the beach for hot water.
We would only stay here again if all other options were full.

The hotel appears clean and the staff is courteous. Their bistro/bar disappoints. Overpriced and tables are rarely cleaned or sanitized. The location is within walking distance of good food and shopping. If you're looking for public beach access you should plan on at least a 15 to 20 min drive in what has proven to be insane amounts of traffic. If you need a place to stay while traveling this will do. If you want a place to stay while you enjoy your trip here then make sure basic accommodations is all you require. There is a pool and hot tub and fitness center.

Me and my wife visited Sandestin for our Wedding Anniversary.
We checked in to the Courtyard on Grand Blvd. The chiller/fridge did not work, it was hot inside. I called front desk they had maintenance to bring a new fridge, which was great. After we went to sleep, I hear a loud noise, around 3:00AM, after I get up i realize it was the A/C making a loud squealing noise. So I turned off the A/C for a few minutes, after turning it back on because the room got warm the noise started again. I went down stairs around 8:00AM to talk to front desk about situation. I asked for manger and was told the manager would not be in until 10:00AM, but maintenance would be up to take care of the problem. After we returned from breakfast around 11 AM, no one had come to look at the AC. Around 1:45 PM, I asked for the manger again and was told she was in a meeting. About 30 minutes later I talked to the manger, Christy, she said she’ll send someone up. At 4:00 PM no one had come to room to check the A/C. This is ridiculous when the temperature outside is near 90 degrees.

That would totally depend on how far you like to walk. The short answer is no, we drove along to access points. It's a great hotel to come and go from, if you need beach access then you need a beach hotel.
About 10 hours driving
Hello! There are mini fridges in our suite rooms, but we do have a limited amount available upon request.
Unfortunately, we are located on the north end of the highway and are not beach front.
