Have stayed here several times in the past, back in the days they had a slide into the pool and have to say we were very disappointed with the level of service and value compared to earlier visits. Willing to pay a premium for good service but staff( except for pool bar staff that know what it takes to keep...

I want to lead off my review by saying that I really wanted to give five stars here because overall it was an great stay but there were just a few things that turned me off. I'll start with the cons and end on a high note with the pros: -front desk; unfortunately more bad than good here. We were...

Casa Ybel is one the most wonderful places that you can visit. This is our 3rd visit. It is a tranquil and relaxing place. The customer service is outstanding. Amy in reservation is wonderful, as are Kevin at he pool bar and Kaila in recreation. We also had dinner at the historic Thistle Lodge Restaurant. Rosita was our waitress for...

Year two, similar room, stayed longer, loved every minute. Room is a condo with full kitchen, separate bedroom, full balcony. Can't beat the location, Thistle Lodge for brunch & dinner - so nice to have a full service restaurant on site. Enjoyed walks on the beach, bicycle riding, sunset cruise on Tarpon Bay. Sanibel is so relaxing & lovely. Can't...

Wife and I had a few extra days, and decided to try Casa Ybel. What a nice surprise! Great accommodations, and staff was excellent. While it is an older resort, it is well maintained and had a lot of charm. Do NOT go here if you are looking for the 5-star "new" luxury type hotel - will be disappointed. If...

While my husband and I ultimately enjoyed our stay at Casa Ybel, I didn't feel it was worth the $600+ per night price tag. The rooms are a bit outdated but adequate and the staff were friendly but sometimes lackadaisical. The resort grounds are very nice and well kept. There are two restaurants, The Thistle Lodge and Coconuts (pool side)....

Beautiful view of the gulf! Our room had everything we needed and was great for traveling with kids. The pool bar and restaurant have a good variety of options and the food was great. The pool is huge and heated, and there is a wading pool for small children, with shade nearby. The beach and the water were perfect and...

Casa Ybel is a great place to stay on Sanibel. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. My tween and teen kids loved the shuffleboard and beach volleyball offered. Coconuts (the pool bar and grill) had really good food (we are foodies and were actually surprised at how good it was) and the staff in the restaurant was one of...

We stayed Casa Ybel during the third week of March and unfortunately there was uncharacteristically cold and windy weather during our stay, although we did skip on the NE blizzard. I won't take any stars away for the weather, but that is the context of the review. We loved the beach and pool area. We have small children so the...

First (and last) visit to this hotel -- had been to the restaurant three years ago. For the price, which is luxury, "Fine Hotels Category", this establishment is embarrassing to the category and industry. The rooms were outdated and badly in need of refurbishment. The view and site is great, but that is it!!! Wine list at Thistle Lodge ridiculously...
