Nice enough place - very busy & kinda loud. Spaces in our area are tight & it takes a village of people to get you in so you don't hit another rig. Its open to the public - so anyone can drive in at any time - a certain lack of security. Lots of staff - nice enough & helpful....

This is our 2nd visit to the KOA. Great staff and the regular/long term winter RV guests always make us feel welcome and part of the crowd. Love music 3 nights a week and the on site Pelican pub is a blast. We will definitely be back.

Camped there for the second time over Christmas, stayed over a week. Pool and bar are great although they need to improve on the cocktails they offer. There was a bit of a "no-see-um" problem, they sell some stuff at the store that works to keep them away, get some and use it!

We stayed here in October 2016, we went to Key West and RV parks are very limited. Several don't allow dogs and prices are crazy When we called, they said, oh we're campers, of course your dogs are welcome here We pulled in and actually pulled our camper so close to the water, my wife was nervous until I explained...

I've stayed at many campgrounds, KOA and others, and this place had some really great amenities and a few issues. First the good: The staff were awesome, it was super cool to have a pool and bar in the campground, the showers were nice, and the marina was a big plus. On the downside it was notably crowded. When cooking...

I camped in the open tenting area with my best friend and our three kids the week between Christmas and NYE 2016. I was nervous because it is an open tenting area and the were full to capacity. To my surprise we pretty easily found a spot for both of our tents and we're able to park my suburban and...

My husband, two boys (10-12)stayed Christmas/New Year in a 40' 5th wheel. We enjoyed our stay. The customer service is excellent and very friendly. Two out of the six nights they offered a theme dinner at the pub it was nice along with great music. We liked the beach, the boys loved it!!! I did a little snorkeling, I could...

Love/Hate relationship with this Camp Ground. Two couples traveling in 2 different units. We could not be placed next to each other which we found out when we checked in. There were spots empty next to both our units on several occasions. We did not feel the staff placed any importance on trying to get us together for our 10...

I stayed here for a few days in Dec 2016. Nice place, decent bathrooms. Lively bar which is a great touch. very quiet at night which is also nice. Good people, good atmosphere. Has a small beach on site. You can jump on the bus to go up to Key West, its about 30 mins. Make sure you know exactly...

This was our first RV experience in the USA! There were 4 of us in a 30ft Coachman Camper. The campsites we stayed in were great - Sugarloaf Key, JJ Prince in Lake Worth and Larry and Penny in Miami. All clean and well run. However there were some things we did not know that made our trip unnecessarily difficult....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
