Had it not been for my awful experience trying to get any response from a manager or owner, I would have considered this place quaint. A bit run down but clean. Problem started my first night when it turned out that the A/C in the...More
We had planned for months to stay at The Sands as we love old traditional motels, however, we were very disappointed when we arrived. We arrived late and just dropped off our luggage and went to dinner. Upon returning we went in the kitchen and...More
Our family of four stayed 4 days and we had a great time! The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We were able to view a room before our stay as well. We had a lower level poolside room. The room was in...More
I just returned from The Sands where I attended a family reunion. There were so many issues, it's hard to know where to begin. How about the ever changing room rate? We booked a block of rooms months in advance. The price changed repeatedly, including...More
Been going here since I was a kid. Love the place, don't change a thing. The staff are the friendliest. I always get the same room each year, sure its not the most up to date place, but that is what I like about it....More

Shell Island Preserve Park (about 20min away) has them and I believe the one time I've ever done that it was $45/day. TS is correct, it's a hefty/long walk from almost any hotel to the actual water.
Sunburst Inn in Indian Rocks Beach, right up the road, has umbrellas and lounge chairs you can use, on the beach, no extra charge for them. If they're booked solid you'll have to do an "early bird gets the worm" kind of thing but we've stayed there too.
